Soxfest on FSN
Whimpy and Hawk are awesome. I also think Steve Stone is an awesome announcer and would be a great pitching coach.

Glad I found this site.

MLB to select all-star teams

Sox minor leaguers
Cerbaho (Mike Doyle) is going to have something up on that probably this week. We've been a bit delayed in our previews, but they will talk about the newcomers as well as the people staying there for some experience. They should get some really good talent though, as the Sox are stacked at the lower level. By the way Bullard, tomorrow I'll be watching my Titans (Go Cal State Fullerton) as they defeat the Mighty Stanford Cardinals. Also as far as my favorite minor leaguer, I'm starting to really like Bullard. I was always a Buerhle fan when he was in the minors and typically my favorite pitchers are those lefties that don't get enough recognition. Hopefully one day you'll be exciting all of us while pitching at Comiskey (I'll still call it that). Thanks for all the info you've given us posters here.

Sox minor leaguers
I'm kinda intrigued as to why munoz isn't being converted into a starter....... I mean if he doesn't have the stamina..... thats one thing...... but why not give it a shot, because all things indicate that this guy has dynamite stuff. I believe that they have talked about it but want to wait until the season starts, as he has had an extended workload over the past months. Hopefully they give the kid a little rest, then see what he can do. If he can take the innings, he's got a real shot I think. They have said that they want to convert him to the rotation, but are going to start him off very very slow the first month or two because of all the innings he's pitched. I think he'll have a full season in the minors and he'll go to the rotation in the 2nd half and won't pitch winterball next year, because his arm could use the rest. I wouldn't even use him in Spring Training much if at all, because he just needs and deserves some rest.

Secret to Success in 2003
The key is we don't have any reason to stick with a guy like Ritchie for a long time, unless it is Colon, but I don't see him struggling unless he is hurt. We stuck with Ritchie because the Sox gave up so much for him, and the fact that the younger players weren't ready. Now we have Loiza, Heredia and Josh Stewart right there if any of the starters falter or get hurt. When it comes to the bullpen, theres Munoz, Sanders, and Almonte ready and waiting if anyone falters or gets hurt. Then in the infield we have Thomas if PK goes down or vice versa. Borchard in the outfield, Hummel/Harris in the infield. Catching wise, that Burke guy.

US Cellular Park
JR has supposedly promised that the Comiskey name will somehow be utilized in a way around the stadium, but that doesn't mean its mentioned in the stadium name.
-
Debates
If it means the stadium gets that homer porch and looks really sweet, then I'm all for it.

An Ugly Time
I think if I could go back in time, I'd like to see the Negro Leagues and majors mix, so everyone could see and hear of all the amazing negro league players that never got a shot to prove themselves.

Virginia Expos?
I can't see Virginia supporting a team. I really don't see many places baseball should go to. I think they have enough problems with a couple locations out there as it is, but DC does make some sense to me.

Cubs/Sox comparison
Sox fans are definately more loyal and there are fewer of them, but I love having a ton of diehards. One thing I notice about many Cub fans is they go for the show; thats not all of them, but most of them. A homer is great to them, even if they lose the game, at least they saw Sammy homer. Well, thats probably why Sammy is always swinging for the stinking fences, instead of just looking for one run if the team needs a sac fly, etc.

Rowand Interview Highlights
Ya, Rowand always had a pretty solid arm. Interesting that he won't be the starting centerfielder. I guess Harris will be out there, or will it be Rios? Did he say it was because of his injury?

KW
I like Pat Gillick. He's up there with Billy Beane, imo.

Buehrle is staying with the Sox
Not at all Mike...Hope you have fun there

The state of the stadium
To me the other big detriment of the park are high ticket prices. Out here in Anaheim, you can see a ball game really cheap and be on the lower level. With AAA discount its 11 bucks and your in the terrace, which is right on the field level, but back a bit or for 13 you can be on the field. 7 bucks and your in left.

Back from SoxFest
visitor's dugout or dodger dugout? That would be awesome, I was planing on buying tix fot all 3 games, maybe I'll wait and see if this deal goes through... Dodgers dugout, actually more like 3rd base, but its the 2nd row if I recall and they are right on the aisle. Very cool seats. The problem is he won't know about it until after the season starts I think. He's going to talk to his dad and see if he got an answer. Usually his dad can pick them up.

Welcome to the Cell!!
Thats exactly what I was thinking. The Sox fans out to go nuts on the opposing teams, but I never want to see it turn into the blackhole.

Back from SoxFest
That, and I resume my stalking of Joe Borchard and Jon Garland. Lucky bastids all of you. Maybe one day I'll just fly out to Chicago just for Sox Fest. SOunds like most of the players are cool. I have to wait until June at Dodger Stadium to see them... Cali...hopefully CyYoungPorzio can land us his dads company tickets cause if he does, we'll be sitting pretty right behind the dugout for a game. Sounds like ya had a blast Cerb...you made out like a bandit when it came to autographs. Hopefully everyone else there had a ton of fun too!!!!!

The state of the stadium
I think the park fits right in the middle. It isn't the greatest and its far from the worse. The upper deck stinks and it gets a bad rap from the media because its in the so called "South Side".
-
Buehrle is staying with the Sox
This is great news. Glad to know Buerhle showed up and really got the fans on his side. I have never thought he is going elsewhere and I think we'll see him on the Southside a long long time. ROCK On BUERHLE!!!!!!!!!!

Reinsdorf on the stadium deal
Very cool. I think JR is doing all the right things this offseason, shockingly enough.

SN Report
I like the name of Qualcom. Its kind of catchy, US Cellular is long, but in time I may get used to it. Mario...I like your thinking, new name, new team, new fate.
