Thast something we can worry about at the deadline. I'm not saying I'm not willing to deal him, but I'd love to have him back. Heck, sign him to a long term deal to be our set up man for all I care or deal him for a quality starting pitcher if thats the case.
  2. I don't think JR tells him who to get, I think Jr does him how much he has to get a player and then he goes out and talks to KW and says a little more and eventually he has the resources to make a move. Thats how I think it works. Of cousre when Ron was here, Kw had to get his approval. Ron means Ron Schueler. Great Point Ian, I always forget to mention the fact that Eldred and Baldwin had career stints. Then Parque was healthy. You can't really blame 2001 on KW because he didn't really do anything that wrong.

I say tax it both, even higher to the point that I don't have to pay any income tax :metal Yep, I'm thinkin about myself on this one

I said the same thing about Frank though. On this one, we are both differing. I'm telling you, you watch him and he's nasty. Nothing has shown me he's going to lose it and I don't buy into that pressure crap. He saved the final couple games just fine and pitched awesome in pressure his whole career.
  5. Exactly, I want no Anti Trust, it just hurts the teams. I've been saying that a long time, ever since people were afraid of the strike. I say screw the anti trust, its what makes the players union so damn strong. The owners fear losing it, but look at the sucess of football and basketball and they don't need that stupid thing.
  6. Oh, expansion teams don't get to share for the first four years or so?
  7. The thing is, next year they won't slide. My whole point is, look at the major league roster he has established for next year. He's got a very very complete roster out their, especially if he picks up that needed starter in free agency.
  8. True. But baseball won't let it happen. See how their running the Expos. It would be a disaster if a team was allowed to go bankrupt. You know those boobs running baseball would screw up the drafting process and Johnson would end up in NY. If they let them go broke then Ownership would no longer need players approval for contraction and things would be a lot better. Teams could move easier and everything else making ot for a more open and sucessful market.

How is a .29 era slipping. He slipped at the beginning of the season and only got stronger.
  10. I got dibs on the White Sox. After I win the lottery, I go on a 10 yr investment plan in which I will be on the fast path to billionaireitis and then, White Sox here I come.
  11. I think KW holds a lot of pull with JR though. He can tell things to him in a way that gets the deal done.
  12. But if they go broke it isn't considered contraction.
  13. Exactly, plus if they go broke then maybe other owners would learn too and salary would get driven down.
  14. I'd take either, and wouldn't think twice.
  15. I wouldn't be surprised if they went broke. MLB should let them go broke too.
  16. Wow, they are going to make a movie about this. Geeze, its all like a conspiracy. I still think were going to hear something else surprising.
  17. They lose with both Johnson and Schilling on the mound. Well, it may not be horrible cause you know Johnson and Schilling will go games 4 and 5 now, if their is one. I say the Cards sweep them.

Awesome post IWC. The thing is, I'll take 3 big blow games, as long as he don't blow the other ones. THe reason is the big games count just as much as the games against crap opponents. Fact is Keith don't blow saves and thats what I like about him. He also can throw a ton of innings and I don't think you can put a value on him in the pen, he's just so good.
  19. The Bears ownership is fine now that they stepped aside and let football people run it. Mcaskey is a boob, the Mr.'s that is, but the Mrs. the true decendent of Halas is just fine.

Mike the flaw to your government thing is that people could make cigarettes in a sense if they wanted to. I don't do any of this stuff, although i hear weed is the least worse for you. The one thing weed does do is slow you down and that would make you a dangerous driver.
  21. Thats cool you got it. Hopefully Borchard gives you another one when you show him that. That way you have one framed and one you can wear.
  22. but his f*** up's are worst than the pluses. like the royce trade, the berry berry trade, the kip wells trade, the ray ray trade. As far as the Royce trade goes, he didn't give anything up and he himself said he learned from his mistake and now knows how important chemistry is. And then for the Berry deal, we did get Majewski and its not like we were going to keep JB and the Dodgers didn't even keep him.
  23. I don't expect big things from Miles, but maybe he is one of those late bloomers, ala Paul LoDuca of the Dodgers. I say why not have him up here backing up at second and see what he can do. I think he should be a decent backup as he has more experience and should be ready. Of course he isn't going to get time in AAA which hurts him and 26 in AA is bad. He's only in AA because Harris and Hummel were in AAA.

Ya, Cerb knows somet stuff on him. From what I know he's an awesome hitter and is thought of as the real deal over at 3rd. Ciraco is also on the list and thats another Sox thats in rookie ball.
