I think Coop would do great things for Jeff and I actually like him a lot because of his arm and stuff, but I am not trading what it would take to get him and as a result have zero desire. I am excited to see if Hahn can find a way to get Grandal or another young catcher.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 09:20 PM) Is it too much to ask for a Bears win and Packers/Lions loss this weekend coming up? Haha...that is what I'm hoping for. I still think the Packers end up winning the division but lets go Bears. Lets win out!!!

Sox trade Addison Reed to Diamondbacks for 3b Matt Davidson
Chisoxfn replied to dayan024's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Holy cripes. Didn't see this coming and I freaking love it. Young, cost controlled bat. Reed is a nice piece but we have no one to fill 3rd and this is a guy can potentially make us forget all about Joe Crede (the last decent 3B we had). -

QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 11:10 AM) Fleecing Towers is our new offseason strategy lol Well lets hope these deals work out well. I really like this trade. I like Addy but we don't have any 3B hopes and Davidson is a young cost controlled guy with considerable upside. Huge move, I like it a lot. -
QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 09:11 AM) I'm actually not sure Bowman has been a step down. We do severely miss the forced fumbles though. Bowman has palyed well but just imagine him in a more nickle spot. Tillman is a turnover machine (and yes i do realize I'm typing this after a game in which Bowman had 2 INT's).

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 09:00 AM) They weren't healthy and they still won. Half the O-line was out for most of the season. Now that they're back, they're steamrolling over most teams. Moot point as teams in the top 5 worst defenses don't go far in the playoffs...if the Bears even get in. I still think Packers win the division but Bears defense should look considerably different by week 1 of the playoffs. Ratfliff should be closer to 100%, Briggs will be back and Peanut will be back. Those are three difference makers who are major step-ups from the stiffs that have been playing for them.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 08:41 AM) Bostic may as well just run in circles, he may accidentally run into McCoy more times than if he actually tries to read the ball. He did have a great block on Bowmans td. Just planted a guy.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 07:53 AM) And while the 1st pick was a bad decision, the 2nd pick most likely doesn't happen if he's been playing the last few weeks. After he shook off the rust he was damn awesome the rest of the game. Also, not sure if it has been mentioned yet but Jay leads the league in 4th quarter qbr this season. If you watch the 1st pick...Marshall gets ran into about 15 yards into his route. It was a clear illegal contact. Still a bad pass but things might be different if Marshall isn't jammed 15 yards into his route. The 2nd pick was a fine read...ball floated on him due to rust. It is what it is but I ain't going to get all pissy about that one. The first one was a tight window and didn't need to be made. He floated a few others on the game but really the first pick was the only real bad decision Jay made the whole game. He played pretty darn good against a good defense on the road with big win. Oh and they scored a ton of points too and Jay was clutch late in the game.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 07:46 AM) It was still a 50 yard throw against the wind, while getting hit. I have no idea how he got it 50 yards. It ended up floating a bit but he threw to the guy he wanted to. Haden on...go to his replacement. Jeffrey made an incredible catch.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 07:29 AM) Jay was lucky as s*** Jeffrey made a circus catch. Otherwise it'd be 7 days of talking about his future. And McCown didn't benefit from some of those too. GMAFB.

Bam....thankfully I held on. My math was bad, I still had a 25 point lead and ended up winning by 13. I like it. I'm officially in the money...now to win this thing next week!!! The 2 best teams in the league (happens to be my brother-in-law who has the 2nd best team)....get to duke it out! -

f***...i have 153 and might lose now. Had a 53 point lead heading into SNF and he has Brown and Bell. Through 1 quarter...3 td's and my lead is down to 15. I am f***ed. Figures. I have had the top 2 points each of the past 6 weeks in the league. Please somehow let the Steelers offense die. Lead league in points only to finish 5th overall (was in 6th-7th most of the year). This would just be the tip of the ice cap to my year. My team is so much better then anyone in the league (over 200 point overall point lead). -
OMG. I am up 50 heading into Sunday Night Football and my opposition has Brown and Bell. f*** me.
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 15, 2013 -> 10:44 AM) It was a bad throw, but if he leads Marshall by two feet instead of trailing him, it's probably a TD What about the massive illegal contact that happened at the 5 yard line or so on the play. Blatant non call.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 15, 2013 -> 06:35 AM) There is a police and medical report. A police report with all different accounts and a medical report that indicates they had sex and had no indications of rape. It isn't like she came in all beat up with indications of force. I'm not saying he did or didn't do it, but I don't know what info was out there that clearly supported him being charged. I will say, I haven't followed and read a bunch of blogs, I"ve just seen what has been on the tv news but there was nothing I heard that supported rape. -
That is a lot of money for Juan.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 13, 2013 -> 05:56 PM) It's really hard to say it's UNLIKE any college football player on a big campus and football is king of the town. There could have been drugs or alcohol involved o on his end too, but it's not hard whatsoever to believe he raped her. It's really not. You can be the greatest guy in public and in front of a camera and still rape someone. Regardless, I'm trying to look at what facts or at least information that is out there, and there's way too much smoke here. Rock already covered why it took so long to go public. And what difference does it make that the attorney threw stuff out today, as opposed to some other day? It's not like this is 10 years later. What facts? -

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 13, 2013 -> 10:01 PM) What a game. ISU has three great resume wins. Can't believe Gessel joked at the line. He's normally automatic from the line. Bummer. Great game though. Both squads are good. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 11:10 AM) They arent, really. they may reduce the posting fee, but they are still going to give out large dumb contracts to players that have never played against MLB competition This rewards the players more which is a good thing for the players. I like this rule better then the old rule. It has no bearing on competitive balance though.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 12, 2013 -> 08:04 PM) Everyone here would have fired his ass. Unacceptable. Don't look at Ferentz record in his first year either. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 12, 2013 -> 02:41 PM) No, he is 34. 34, 36 same difference. He's in the twilight of his career.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 12, 2013 -> 01:25 PM) Ya, from what I remember he ended up sticking with Brady over Bledsoe at the end of the season and through the playoffs. Brady was a young, up and coming player. McCown is 36.

QUOTE (Jillian Michaels' Abs @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 10:39 AM) Dayan Viciedo is the present day version of Kendrys Morales. The Angels waited for 5 years for him to reach his advertised potential, which he never reached. He also can't play defense and is a terrible baserunner. I would use him as a measuring stick in regards to trade value, which the additional value being in Viciedo's youth and relatively low pre-FA cost. Morales was a monster for the Angels prior to having a severe injury. Check your facts cause the above couldn't be any more inaccurate.
