QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) Looked like he snuck his foot in I thought the ball moved though. But either way you got to play D and Iowa didn't there. Stanzi, make yourself an Iowa legend here. -

OSU wideout bobbles the ball when he hits, so I would like to think that will get overturned. -

OSU just dropped a go ahead touchdown. Lucky for them Prior is putting this team on his back and just converted a 4th down against my Hawkeyes. Come on Iowa. f***, Iowa is gonna have to go down the field and do something. That missed field goal will probably cost em. Play being challenged. -
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) Players in their walk years tend to produce. That has been statistically proven to be a myth.

I'd be pissed if I was a player who dove and broke my kneck because i hit the ivy bricks. -
QUOTE (kev211 @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 01:11 AM) Goddamn Fringe has been unbelievably awesome this season. It's totally rewarding the people who have watched it this far. Hells yes

Beautiful, win #7 on the season and #700 for the franchise!!! One of the most relaxing Bears games I've watched in years.
-
Beautiful first down slant to Knox by Jay.

QUOTE (T R U @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 08:06 PM) worthless, if I had thought Thigpen was gonna be this bad I wouldn't have even said anything.. Why didn't they try to run though? They were dropping and passing quite a bit even though the game was within a score for the whole first half. Thigpen was awful, Bears defense has been great, but for a team that can run like Miami I'm surprised they didn't try to hide/protect Thigpen a hell of a lot more.

I don't know what happened this year, but Manning is a whole different football player. By and large he's played very very well.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 07:48 PM) Probably, but we have the talent to force him into turnovers. He hasn't had to deal with that at all this season. lets first finish things off in this game. We'll have plenty of time to talk about the next game (and disect and hopefully enjoy this one) over the next 10 days.

Lets get the kill on this drive Bears!!!

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 07:11 PM) Frankly, I'm not really sure we need to. Knock on wood. Momentum is only as good as one play. I'll take all the points we can get.
-
Damn, that was some leg by Gould there. He could have hit from close to 60 on that one.
-
Cutler was in 2nd and long, had pressure, less than 2 minutes and in Dolphins territory and figured he might as well try something. It wasn't smart but I had a feeling he was going to gamble in that situation. That was a very costly holding penalty on Webb. That said, we've pretty much dominated. The scary thing is we are a TD away from losing.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 09:18 AM) It makes me angry that every fan, every columnist, every expert, every single f***ing person on this planet knew that Vinny Del Negro was a horrendous candidate and possible hire for the job... except for John Paxson and Jerry Reinsdorf. There was no gameplan. It was f***ing inexcusable. So yeah, Thibbs is a quality NBA head coach, and I'm happy that Derrick Rose is being let off the leash and Thibbs knows what he's working with... The Bulls were taking a chance on a charasmatic guy who was a well respected player. They even admitted it during press conferences and they were hoping his personality and fresh stance and communication skills would work while he learned to coach. That is part of why he got the short term deal for a 1st year head coach. It didn't work but I can't blame them for what they tried. And Del Negro did do some good things giving the younger players more leeway. However, he just wasn't a good coach and the assistants we brought in I think new it and it caused a lot of issues because Del Negro wouldn't call sets and they wanted to call sets.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 09:34 AM) FWIW, Bruce Levine is saying the Sox are not shopping Quentin. I don't know if that means anything. I would assume that Quentin would be on his way to another team if the right offer came along. It really doesn't make sense to move him. We'd be selling low. In those instances I can see why it could make sense to move Floyd, but if you deal him you better have plans to find another starting pitcher and you better be prepared to lock up Danks. In fact, with Buehrle/Peavy coming off the books in the relative short-term, it only makes sense to extend Danks.

I also should mention I would prefer Olivo to AJ. I want someone different behind the plate. I could end up regretting it and I like AJ as a player but I'm ready for someone else. I want a guy that has a hose behind the plate and can really stop a running game. Plus AJ can be so frustrating to watch at times. Not saying who we get will be better, but I'm ready for a change.

QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 08:48 AM) Yep, definitely better than last season. It will be very interesting to see how they incorporate Boozer into the offense. I really hope he doesn't become the focal point. Boozer will be a huge part of the offense and the two man game they will run at times will be beautiful. However, Deng should still flourish because this team just does a beautiful job of running a motion, pick based offense. I've really enjoyed watching them play and they should get much much better with Boozer back and just more playing time (to gel). And with bigs we are deep. Asik looks like a future defensive stopper off the bench and than we know what we got in Noah/Taj/Booz. Gotta love that depth. Plus a vet like Kurt Thomas if someone goes down. Deng seems to be a lot more active this year. So glad to have Del Negro out of here.

QUOTE (balfanman @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 08:18 AM) I'm not so sure of that. I like Olivos' skill set, especially the ability to throw out base runners, but if what was said about him before is true, you can't have a pitching staff that doesn't want him catching them. For all of A. J.'s faults, the pitching staff aparently loves him. Has that been said at all recently? I know that was his knock as a rookie with the Sox but has that changed?

QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 08:35 AM) Korver, Watson, Rose, Deng (small sample size this year) are all better FT shooter than Noah. Noah is a career 70.7 percent FT shooter. Noah's probably my favorite player on the Bulls, and loved the pick when he was drafted, but he should be the last resort in that situation and just made the observation that it seems like we're not efficient enough with our inbounds plays (a common theme in some of the Bulls games this year). Watching us on offense, one thing I'm not concerned about is our coaching. Thibbs is legit.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 08:59 PM) I've seen Noah turn the ball over probably 10 times in the last two weeks when he tries to bring the ball up the court. Rose needs to go get that ball from him right away. Also, I know he made the FT last night, but the Bulls are going to lose a game or two this year cause they put the ball in Noah's hands at the end of the game when the other team is trying to foul. I don't think so. Noah is one of the Bulls better free throw shooters. He shoots in the low to mid 70's and he's a big target so you can get him the ball easier on certain in-bounds plays. Plus, we can't pretend that Rose or Deng are tremendous free throw shooters so unless we are talking about Korver the Bulls currently don't have a whole lot of other options to inbound the ball too that shoot better at the line than Noah.
