By the way, don't misunderstand my personal position. We have a long way to go, that's for sure... but any signs of progress is bad news for the people who want to get out as fast as we can get out. It shows that if we actually stop making this a political discussion and let the military do its job, it would get done right.

The truth is, and I don't care how you slice it, the Democrats have put themselves in the position that the United States must lose the war, or they lose power. It sucks that they put themselves there. I also think that is the only reason Mrs. Bill Clinton hasn't renounced her Iraq vote directly like the other candidates have - because she needed the wiggle room just in case things started going "well".

Of course, now that they are selling to KKR or Blackstone or whatever the hell private equity firm, they're set for life no matter what they do.

It amazes me how you people spin this, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over (I could go on) again. The laws that were on the books in Florida during 2000 were not followed. If the laws as they exist now (after they closed the loopholes) were on the books then, it would have been a different outcome... The Supreme Court told the Fla. Supreme Court that they had to interpret the laws at the time, not what they "should have been". That's a gross oversimplification, but that's the bottom line.

NEVER EVER question "global warming" science. EVER. It's just WRONG! It seriously amazes me how strongly this one issue is defended here more then every other one.
