Iran siezes British troops
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 04:39 PM) Wow, I make a couple random remarks, one of which is actually put in green, and suddenly that's interpreted as "everything is Bush's fault". It is. Thome hits a three run homer, the server goes down, and that's Bush's fault. That's a crock of s***, too.

American Idol
This is about the week that AI pulls the "shocker" of sending someone home that was going to be in the top three. I wonder who it is this time?

Iran siezes British troops
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 04:24 PM) Think we'll give the same gift and return the Iranian folks we seized while they were in Iraq on diplomatic visits? Anyway, I'm going to be really, really happy if this does end. I need to fill up my gas tank here pretty soon. And I still don't like Mr. Bush having anything resembling a Causus Belli. 'Cause after all, it's all Mr. Bush's fault. What a crock of s***.

Pelosi in Syria
Because, whether you like it or not, foreign affairs when it comes to trade, taxation (read: tarriffs) etc. are so globally intertwined, Congress has that right to travel the world to promote certain aspects of what is applicable to Congress. It's not soley on the executive branch.

Pelosi in Syria
QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 01:55 AM) I don't see speaking with heads of state on that list. Congress deals with our involvement with foreign entities from within. The executive is supposed to be our rep to the rest of the world. I'm saying it's messed up (and yet another deviation from the original intent) when members of Congress do this, whether it's been authorized by the other branches or not. It's not meant to happen per the Constitution, and for a good reason. It completely undermines our system of government. MMMMM'kay. But it was ok for everyone to do it 6 months ago? This is a dumb argument.

According to Russia, a US attack on Iran is 'imminent'
And if it's Russia "helping out" Iran, then they should tell them to get their heads out of their rear ends before the whole world stands by and watches something stupid happen, especially in light of the whole "hostages" thing going on.

Pelosi in Syria
It is, and it happens (the Goracle and China, which was by far the biggest deal of the Clinton Administration, IMO, but it got shoved under the carpet) all the time, unfortunately. And yes, it happens way too much on the ® side of the aisle, too.

Pelosi in Syria
She is third in line of the executive branch, so she can go wherever the hell she pleases. I just hope she keeps her mouth shut.
-
According to Russia, a US attack on Iran is 'imminent'
I agree... but why is Russia parroting this crap?
-
Pelosi in Syria
Uh, no, isn't it obvious that we're not "one voice"? We're about 50 shrill voices all in a pissing contest.

Huh? http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070403/pl_nm/iran_usa_russia_dc This is probably diplospeak to put more pressure on the Iranians, but I certainly hope our government is not this stupid at this point in time.

New leadership?
The thing is, both sides want to attack the other. Neither has a real message, because it's always "damage control" from the s*** slinging the other side dishes out.

New leadership?
QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Mar 31, 2007 -> 04:37 AM) You might be better off removing the generous government pensions and eliminating any perks of the job, then you would get people who actually want to SERVE thier country, instead of the typical career politician. No reason the job needs to be full time for the senate and house. Half the crazy-ass laws we have are because the doufuses feel that they have to justify their jobs somehow, so since they are there, hey, let's pass some stupid, pain-in-the-ass bills! How about teleconferencing for votes? The public financing thing is interesting, but what how much do we give them? I have read a few different plans for that in the past, and there could be something to that part of it. As for your first part, I think the Dems have called for the resignation of just about everybody on the Republican side for just about anything. You missed my dig, probably intentionally, that the Dems scream for resignations at the slightest hint of anything not to their liking, but then refuse to do the same. So much for draining the swamp. Ye, because when the Dems do something "unethical", it's for a better justification then when the evil Republicans do it. It's always different .

Ozzie Guillen/Spring Training/2007
Of course being in Dallas, all I ever hear right now is the Mavs. They had a horrible preseason, lost their first four games, and still have a shot at 70 wins for the regular season. Who cares, right? The point is, a veteran team doesn't get real excited about Spring Training (training camps in general). Hell, look at the Colts, didn't they go 0-for-the-preseason? This is true in all sports, IMO.
