  1. Supposedly JD (Danks) is the real deal. I'd make this move as well.
  2. Tonight *should* be a classic. Let's hope the real Sox show up tonight.
  3. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 11:01 AM) Absolutely. Curious, since I was at the game and didn't hear, what was the BS reason Dye was out of the lineup? BigSqwert, Steff, I agree with you both. Something is going on. It's almost like there is a revolt going on of sorts. If there is, I wonder what is causing it. As far as Dye goes, Ozzie told him that he would get a day off either Sunday or Monday. There you have it.
  4. Now if you're in Dallas, why the heck are you asking about tattoo parlors in Chicago? Just saying.
  5. At this point, I don't think it will happen. We got our bullpen arm, and unless a starter goes, I don't see the Sox making any other moves.
  6. Now someone is talking sense. I would LOVE to see Pods and a SP (NOT BMac, although it's inevitable, I think) for Soriano. Anyway, why am I talking about this in here? This is a TRADE WINDS thread. I'll move it in a minute. Oops, NM, already taken care of.
  7. Well... ... ... I think some people have gotten released just like this before.
  8. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 03:39 AM) Maybe the plan is for him to replace Tim Raines who apparently will be out of the organization following the year. I know the Sox have long talked to him about having him on the staff. Of course I don't think we would have made the move just so we have a coach next year, I also think it was made because they think it shakes up the clubhouse and improves the lineup against LHP. Oh, I agree that it wasn't solely for that reason (the coaching next season) but it's good to have a guy like SA back in the organization. I also think he brings a presence that is needed back into this year's clubhouse.
  9. Ok, back to the Alomar deal, I don't feel like going through 23 pages of crap... so, does anyone think that this move is made to have SA retire here and be a coach next season for the Sox? I think that is what this move sets up. I hope so, because SA is a damn fine catcher and a good baseball guy as well.
  10. I mentioned this in the game thread. When guys get on base against MB, he's pitching different. He seems to be steering his pitches and not pitching. Just my observation, FWIW.
  11. I'll tell you... JD has impressed the heck out of me. When he signed up, I thought for sure he was washed up. He's having a great season, and I almost argue he's our MVP this season so far.
  12. JimH, fathom, you both do not have to get the last word on the "swear word" argument. NO MORE. Back to the game, please? You both made good points, and now, let it go.
  13. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:34 AM) So you were talking about the filter, just as I said. And not typing spliff or fish, etc. You don't even realize when you're complaining, you do it so much. Sox with the chance to get back into it here. OK. I think the point's been made on both sides. Time to move along and complain about something else, like the score right now. Dammit!
  14. I actually get to watch this cause it's the Rangers. I hate that when I actually get to see them and then they play like spiff.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:28 AM) No, it has nothing to do with swearing. My comment was in regards to people continuing to type "spiff" or "fish". Gotcha. I misunderstood. Someone else just said it, it sort of does make you realize how much of it goes on around here, and it was definitely too much.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:23 AM) I personally think it's really bringing this board down. However, I respect the mods/admins enough to trust their decisions. Why does this have to become nothing but a swear fest? Just asking. My baseball post is, I was watching MB, and as soon as someone got on base, he started steering his pitches, and that was it. Before that, he was fine. A location guy can't steer the ball, or the results we just saw start to happen. MB has been doing it for a month now and it makes me wonder if he's gassed.
  17. That's about right, these days. Ya'll have fun.
  18. The pitching this series was great. I am less worried now then I was going into the series.
  19. The answer is NO, nothing is "insurmountable" given the right conditions. That is all.
  20. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 09:08 PM) The Sox lose, people get pissed off, and then they blame the pessimists. It's not our fault the Sox are playing the way they are. We blame YOU. Wow. Have fun, people.
  21. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 09:03 PM) I think you missed the main point, kap. This thread needs more Hasselhoff! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKu_QA8Bn9o No, I didn't. Apparently everyone else did.
  22. Aye aye aye... People... This is a message board - lighten up, and have fun. That's my .02 worth.
