I haven't watched Florida too much now that Hordi was traded. But from what I have seen, they can't score. And that's a minor surprise after the acquisitions this summer. As far as the 'Hawks go, there's a strong 6 teams in the west that have separated themselves. The last two are up for grabs, and from what I see, the 'Hawks have as good a shot as anyone. But they have to get MUCH more consistent, especially on defense.

This ought to screw up Thanksgiving travel about right - because after it goes through South Florida it's supposed to go up the eastern seaboard as a n'oreaster. Wonderful.

Maybe that 9-1 pasting by Dallas woke their asses up.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 05:26 AM) I suppose the next act of political genius ( ) on the part of the GOP Congress will be when one or another of the meatheads calls General Casey a coward because he's officially put forward a plan to "cut and run". I guess it's OK if he's not a Marine. http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/11/18/...plan/index.html Ok, to be fair, the plans were already being started. You know this, so let's not politicize it like these pubes in Washington.

Hurricane Mu. Now there's a thought.

See? Even conservative me can call "bull s***" when I see it. You all should be proud of me. Just skiddin'.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) Sounds like the Dems are holding their own and actually gettting a chance to debate the war in and around this sham procedural vote. Tierney and especially McGovern are saying the right things - denouncing the GOP version of the "Democrat resolution" and pretty much making this stunt blow up in the GOPers faces. I hope C-Span replayes this in its entirety so I can see it all. If they do, Jim, post when it's on, because I'm curious about this. It is pretty low.

This is pretty shady. I'll have to listen to Hannity on the way in to Dallas to see if he's whooping it up as "the best thing Congress could have done". If he does, I'll never listen again. "That's my solemn oath". Well, that and they have the best traffic reports on the station he's on (my REAL motivation, seriously). I am very curious, though, to see if he calls bull s*** on this. Boy, they mobilized around this one pretty quickly, didn't they? It's almost like they were waiting for it.

Holy s***! Gamma has formed and is supposed to take generally the same path as Hurricane Wilma did. What a frickin' bizarre hurricane season. It's almost December and a tropical system appears heading for the US.

QUOTE(DePloderer @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 09:36 PM) Your ALL wrong. You can not beat a bacon bap, smothered in red sauce. While we're at it , why can't you get a Pork Pie anywhere in the States? There's too many ways to take this, so I'll just bow out of the thread now.

What a messed up society we live in.

I think he knows when to be an ass and when not to be. Last night was a learning experience. Period. And he knows it.

QUOTE(Mercy! @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 08:53 PM) I ate at a Subway once. That's all it took, eh?

This from Dan Wetzel - who is doing a traveling diary for the college basketball preseason on Yahoo!. I thought this was pretty damn classic Bob Knight, and funny to boot. Remember that this is $40 a plate. LMAO!

BMT with Ranch instead of BBQ, and I'm right there with you on the BMT. Subway's ok in a pinch, which is what I usually end up with because it's the closest thing to my work.

QUOTE(Mercy! @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 07:45 PM) Lots of good comments here. I’m thinking that the folks who will have to be dragged kicking and screaming on the Republican side until the last trooper gets helicoptered off a high rise hotel in Bagdad, a la the Saigon embassy – are not the ones to worry about right now. They’re becoming increasingly irrelevant. But they’ll have to come around eventually, probably only when they rewrite the history of their involvement in this abortion. This is now slowly being taken from the administration’s hands. How weak do they want to be perceived before they get out in front of the parade on this? Sorry if I mixed my metaphors. Right now, it needs to start with every timid Democrat in Congress getting behind Rep. Murtha’s broad shoulders – he provides pro-military cover in spades. While this embarrassment of an administration has been talking only to itself in “Town Hall Meetings,” the rest of the country has been looking for someone like Murtha to step forward and be a real leader. There's part of your post that I agree 100% with, and that's the Democrats looking for a real leader, who will stand up and say and do the right things. Rep. Murtha, by far, said more things right representing the opposing point of view. By that, he was respectful, and didn't appear to be politically motivated (well, they all are politically motivated). This wasn't a guy saying "I'm against George Bush". This was a guy that said "I'm against the policy on Iraq"... who can back up the talk. That's a first IMO.

You have to admit, even as people who support the policy of staying the course (because we can't go back now) that this quote is a load of f***ing horses***. Edit - the quote I mean is the White House quote

Yea, that's true. They probably would have juuuuuuuuuuuust a little less in the collection plate, and couldn't cover the million dollar payouts.

Comcastic. I HATE that saying. It's retarded.

Newspaper article on Darcy Hordichuk
kapkomet replied to kapkomet's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Yea, I saw that. s***head. I'm going to give him s*** about that the next time I talk to him. Everything works except the Q and A. -
Darcy Hordichuk Some of you know, and some of you don't, but I'm pretty good friends with Darcy - and this is the kind of guy he really is. I thought I'd share this with a few of the hockey fans here. Really, most hockey players are like this. That's why, IMO, hockey is one of the best sports around (well one of the reasons).

Don't get me wrong, I agree with the sentiments here - but they're going to control and fight the releasing of documents until the bitter, bitter end.

I took the day off so I could sit here and study for a Statistics final that I have at 8AM tomorrow morning. YUCK! But on the bright side of this I just woke up from a morning nap after I woke up the first time this morning. This is the first time I have slept this late in months. Of course, I better not get used to this, I probably just need to ask SS2k about that.

I think they're afraid of just how much damage it would cause.
