  1. Ahhh yes, we're all evil bastards. Thanks for reminding me.
  2. Dang DBAH0, you might have found Soxy's mate.
  3. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 01:22 PM) Of course EVERYTHING is America's fault................even the stuff we dont do. :rolly I was going to post that, but you beat me to it. It's amazing how we are at fault for everything bad but not for anything that's good.
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 01:08 PM) Not meaning to draw it out, but if you recall, Clinton's Vietnam era activities were deemed not important by Dems, and everything by the GOP. Then years later it was the GOP discounting and the Dems extolling the virtues. Tons of irony here. No consistency at all. Both sides should have been ashamed, but instead they just carry on with business as usual. The difference between then and 2004 is that we didn't have 250,000 troops around the world involved in a war. I think that's a big difference.
  5. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) There's an awful lot of crap on both sides, I agree. What I always find surprising is the groups that generally don't want to deploy troops, and want them back the fastest, are painted as unpatriotic and not "supporting the troops". Those that seem to find body counts acceptable if the Commander in Chief says it must be, are patriotic and support the troops. I also found it insanely ironic that during the last election the Dems had a war hero and the GOP did not. All the rhetoric from prior elections went out the window as they met secretly one night and exchanged campaign scripts. All the same crap was said, but this time it came from opposite sides. They are all in the same industry and best practices tend to creep into every company in the same industry. When voters start to demand better from their own party, we will begin to take back our government. As long as voters will defend any crap as long as it comes from "their team" we'll have crappy government. I don't want to draw this out, but John Kerry was only in the position he was in because he was a "war hero"... he had NO ideas. That's why he lost.
  6. There's a lot of national media outlets that reference her stuff... so actually, this is a pretty big deal.
  7. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 04:57 AM) But what pisses me off, is the sharks jumping on her. The outrage was way out of scale for what she said. Each side looks for a small misstep and jumps with all feet. A simple statement, she's a moron would have been enough. You know what's funny is that you see people that are defending the policies jumping all over the "esteemed" Rep. in question... in other words, we can definitely criticize someone even when it's a position we agree with for having gone too far. I don't see that from the other side on this board. I just see more and more and more and more and more and more and more and more and more and more (you get the idea now) s*** piled on top of the pile. You know I got to thinking - the timeline of all this stinks to high heaven. Last weekend (two weekends ago)-- you have Bush and Cheney finally pushing back on the "liar" charges, then you have on Tuesday of last week, Bill Clinton overseas criticising the war, calling George Bush a liar, the whole 9 yards, then Thursday, the whole Rep. Murtha deal, then Friday the "vote" :rolly, then last night Hillary coming out and "defending the troops" - now come the f*** on. YOU KNOW she knew that Bill Clinton was going to say what he did, and she's so quick to jump on the side of "moderation"... can anyone say SMOKESCREEN? It's amazing how both sides are hamming this up so bad. In fact, it's disgusting. It's all for jockeying for power is all this is. "But the troops"... BLECH... no one (the politicians) gives a rat's ass about those people, really. But it sure sounds good on a political slogan.
  8. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 02:09 AM) Watching that 75 seconds game me chills and brought tears to my eyes!!! *drools* This is gonna be sweet.
  9. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 01:54 AM) You know someone on the Preds? Ya.
  10. He had a siezure - had to administer CPR and a difibulator... he's at the hospital now and doing well. That's scary s*** when you're watching it live.... and have a good friend who plays hockey on the other bench.
  11. QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 01:34 AM) People are fark saying he was struck by a puck or a stick to the throat. It's not a puck. It *might* be a stick. He's also had previous heart issues. Still no official word.
  12. He's breathing on his own and has stabilized... but still not sure of the cause.
  13. Watching the Preds game - they were trying to recesitate him... this could be REALLY bad.
  14. It's the Red Sox, folks. Yippee. The rich get richer.
  15. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 10:28 PM) Bingo. Everybody is talking timetables. . . except the White House. And I think they are too... just not with some magical date that you all want.
  16. There's a difference between LOCAL politics, in this case, and NATIONAL politics. Local politics belong into this discussion - as Mercy pointed out. National politics, such as what John Kerry is going to do for Camden, NJ (absolutely NOTHING) doesn't belong in this thread, but somehow is made to.
  17. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 09:56 PM) He was already found guilty of having child porn in 1999. There should not have been an opportunity for him to have any more victims. And he had to go clear to Vietnam for this? That says something too.
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 10:03 PM) So if they actually asked us to leave immediately we'd listen...but we don't have to listen to them because they're only asking for a timetable? There's some sort of joke about sovereignty that I'm sure I could think of if I wasn't trying to catch up on 7 field mapping days worth of homework. Who said we're not listening? The plans are being drawn up, and I'm sure that we'll get together with their elected officials and determine the best strategy. Now get back to your homework...
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) Just a small bit of a reminder...from January...(now behind the NYT Timeselect wall) Ok, that's fine... they have not asked us to leave yet.
  20. There's nothing new here. It pretty much goes along with what's been said for almost three years now. When they can support themselves, we will leave. As a matter of a question here, how long did it take to rebuild Europe after WWII? Just a thought.
  21. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) I agree with some of you. We must play keep a way with CLE. We can't let them get Thome. Have you seen his numbers at the Jake & the Cell? How could we beat them? I think keeping him away from CLE is even more important than resigning Kong. CLE is not even in contention to sign Kong so if it's not a member of the White Sox he's out of the division & possibly in the NL. But CLE has just a s good a chance to get Thome from Philly as well do. We can't & must not allow that to happen. So they can't get Kong, but they can get Thome? I know Philly is going to pay SOME of that contract, but not all. If they can get Thome, they can get Kong too... perhaps... (Thome for $8 mill and Kong for $12-13 mill - yea I guess that's a big difference - but I think this is a smoke screen for CLE, that's my point).
  22. Are you smoking something good, there Tex?
