  1. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) Since some of you have taken the plunge, I'm going to wait for ... ummm ... reviews. Let us know how good this thing is. I think I can get a copy through my work. It sounds to me like it's a highlight montage.

    VETERAN'S DAY

    QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) I'm sorry, why not split off the meaningless gestures then? I thought is was about showing gratitude and respect. Maybe for one damn day we could actually care and do something instead of posting a flag smiley. Maybe instead of stomping your feet and pouting over your thread, you could have done something that would actually do something for the Veterans? You don't know what I do and don't do. So don't question me like that.

    VETERAN'S DAY

    For one day, I wanted to stay away from that. You are right. There are issues, but I wanted to keep it away for one day to express our gratitude. FOR ONE DAY you couldn't do that. The thread wasn't about how Vets get treated. Nice hijack, chief. And that's my point. Thanks for making it.
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) I'll bet a few may short the stocks they own in blind trust They probably already have. It's the only thing making money.

    VETERAN'S DAY

    I have half a notion to split the thread, and leave the "thanks" without the political BS, and then split the rest into those who "want to b**** and argue politics of our soldiers." Yes, it was your right to post the s*** you did - and no, it doesn't make you any less "patriotic" - I'm a little more mature then that - although others have already judged you that way. But the thread wasn't about hijacking the content for political purposes until you made it that way. And, you couldn't leave it alone. You had to keep pushing the issue. It shows some character. :rolly
  6. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 01:29 PM) We break up monopolies. We are not 100% pure market driven. We do look out of the "public good". Oil companies could cripple our country. Everything imaginable from plastics to chemicals, to food additives, are touched by the oil industry. Factor in transportation and see how important those industries are. Yes, SS, it is three completely dfifferent scenarios, showing that we regulate and control profits in a wide variety of ways for the public good. We sacrifice profits for job safety, we sacrifice profits for pollution standards, etc. So the make as much money as possible isn't 100% accurate. Again, looking into and shining a light isn't by itself a bad thing, what they do once they conclude the hearings is a completely different matter. They're going to do NOTHING. It was all a dog and pony show for the cameras to make sure that the American people knew they were "watching". And that's the sickest part of all. Forget the political party, these people are nothing but dips***s that hang off the camera teat.
  7. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) I do And shouldn't it really be a B-test and not a T-test? No, he meant t-test.
  8. I saw this on the news earlier. Creepy stuff. You really are bad luck. Maybe Gage gets it from you.

  11. Sometimes, being an employee of the aforementioned *ahem* producer has its advantages.
  12. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) Point well taken, however, he didn't "go nuts" until he was provoked to do so. Point well taken.
  13. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) If I remember correctly, when my brother (Israel Forever) criticized (radical) Islam, he was soundly criticized on these Forums. The times they are a-changin'! No, that's not why he was criticized. It was the manner of which the expressions were made.
  14. This guy was probably one of the most brilliant business minds in the 20th Century. RIP, Mr. Drucker.
  15. QUOTE(Hanky Panky @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 11:54 PM) One of my high school friends actually flew out to Hawaii for Frank Thomas's wedding. I thought that was pretty interesting. Anyone I know?
  16. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 11:52 PM) Baseball tickets... ZING!
  17. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) It all sucks until you learn who invented the t-test. Thet it becomes a thing of beauty. Any guesses? Tex? Soxy?? I remember our professor telling us the story. And I don't remember the name now, that tells you how much I was paying attention. I bet I was on soxtalk. Nevermind. I remember now. I won't ruin it.
  18. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 10:20 PM) Shouldn't you be working? I should be. Damn stats term paper. Flaxx, how the hell can you stand statistics? LMAO! Damn regression analysis, and chi square mumbo jumbo and ANOVA tables. They all suck.

    VETERAN'S DAY

    THIS THREAD IS NOT ABOUT THE DAMN POLITICS OF THE SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY. PERIOD. TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE.
  21. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) I would love to just be able to have the movie so I can decompile it and look at their code, the movement intrigues me also. Try it. You have the program.
  22. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) Adults can manipulate kids. ACCK. That's true, but I sure don't want to think that. :headshake
  23. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 09:37 PM) Are there any other MM Direector programmers here?? I'd love to put heads together and figure out how the behaviors attached to each body part work to sum the virtual weights of all the parts and get the whole body to behave appropriately. It really is impressive the way the "weight" and orientation of the body behave to give a pretty realistic free fall, collision, and balance behaviors. OK, until then, I'll just nerd out about it by myself. Actually Flaxx, I have a program that reverses the code. I'll have to look at it.
  24. I saw this story last night. It's a great story. Hillsdale, MI. I remember that god-forsaken place. Wasn't that where the blizzard cross country race was? Or was that Adrian? It was somewhere in Michigan.
