  1. Well, damn, all the woodworkers are coming out tonight, aren't they?
  2. You know, I agree with SF1. /faints They shouldn't 'celebrate' a wild card berth, yet. Not when the division is up for grabs. What was the goal? Division. Not Wild Card. Get the goal, then celebrate. But I don't endorse shoving my opinion up other people's asses either.
  3. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) The first point is obvious. It mentioned no distinction of want or how. It simply stated a common sense fact. The second point is equally obvious. It requires no explanation. How many more decades will go by before you realize the "start at home" argument is a losing one? It's obviously not happening & it's not likely to happen any time in the near future. Parents have micro-managed their kids lives so they don't have to be bothered by such "tough" stuff. Welllll... NO s***, SHERLOCK. You just admitted in this post that it's easier to pass the buck then it is to take personal responsibility. And then, you wonder why America and our society is so f***ed up. DING. You don't ever have to post another thing on 'SOXTALK', you made your point. Thanks for playing.
  4. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) Right, but to say that the Sox as a whole are greatly talented is bogus. You won't find very many people with actual baseball knowledge who would be inclined to agree. True. The lack of talent on this team is actually frightening. But they are more of a TEAM then most other clubs. I guess we will see what that brings.
  5. Now why are you assuming that?
  6. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:47 PM) sorry kapkomet, you are dead wrong here. We are not NEARLY as affected by winds and bad weather as other teams. Didn't you watch the first Cubs series? There is a reason we were the best team in baseball when the weather sucked. It favors our style Maybe this year. I know for every year in the past 15 or so it seems like this team didn't do crap until May. 2000 was an exception, and even then they didn't catch fire until May into June IIRC. Edit: do crap OFFENSIVELY
  7. ok. now show me the pitching... I know, different conversation, but taken as a whole that will explain 95 wins.
  8. Oh so it didn't effect us, but it did them. This is making a lot of sense. Seeing as how especially ineffective the Sox are when it's cold, typically.
  9. Kip, that's a good post. It's funny, and not, all at the same time.
  10. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) Hindsite? Daffynition: Viewing with your ass. LMFAO!
  11. oh, so they knew with a 15 game lead that they HAD to hit Hafner to make the playoffs? GMAFB.
  12. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) So Chicagoans can understand. This is like Marriotti indicting Hawk, JR, and Kenny. The DEM District Attorney is the biggest political hack in North America. Actually, he seriously is a hack. But so is the "U can't touch this HAMMER".
  13. QUOTE(bighurt4444 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 05:24 PM) Thank you. That explains your stance a lot better. And I agree with what you are saying. I want the Sox to win and keep winning just like you. I don't think that losing to the Tigers is a confidence booster either. I am probably trying to find a silver lining, but that's better than just being like everyone else and constantly complaining about the Sox. I know they aren't trying to lose. They want to win these games just as much as we want them too. I am very disappointed with the way that they've played, but I think if they can avoid this collapse, a big burden will be lifted off of their shoulders and they can get back to playing the way the did earlier in the season. For the Sox to win this division, they are going to have to win a couple of big games down the stretch. Those wins will help them with their confidence going into the playoffs. It sucks that it had to get this close, but if they win the division, that's momentum heading into the playoffs. They have no heart. They don't want to win. STOP IT, STOP IT NOW. THEY SUCK. THEY HATE WINNING!!!! /this message brought to you by stupid ass post(s) of the month club on soxtalk.com. Wouldn't you like to be a part of a message board where whining is tolerated? Join soxtalk.com NOW! The competition doesn't allow it.
  14. My, my, my indictment hits me so hard Makes me say "Oh my Lord" Thank you for blessing me With a mind to scam and two hype feet It feels good, when you know you're down A super dope homeboy from the Sugartown And I'm known as such And this is a man, uh, you can't touch I told you homeboy (You can't touch this) Yeah, that's how we living and you know (You can't touch this) Look at my eyes, man (You can't touch this) Yo, let me bust my way outta this one cause I'm the HAMMERman (You can't touch this) --- The new theme song for the Hammer.
  15. I could see Texas moving Texiera or Blalock for someone like Contreras. And I would take Texiera over PK at 1st in a heartbeat. He's going to be due a huge contract when his is up, though.
  16. QUOTE(Wiredawg1 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) I'm not trying to piss anybody off. I'm just pissed that the tribe may not make the dance, and in my opinion stand a hell of a lot better chance of advancing than the Sox. And I understand that it's a marathon and not a sprint. However the Sox remind me of the Ironman guy on the Gatorade commercial suffering from dehydration in the final 50 meters of the race. And what really pisses me off is the amount of time that Pronk missed because of Buerhle. We get that month back with Pronk and the Sox are looking up at us. Say what you want, but that's a fact. Maybe. Maybe not. That's the beauty of the game, you don't know.
  17. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:45 PM) All is well. Mother and daugher are resting comfortably. Joe supposedly heading back to Detroit for the game tonight. Congrats Credes!!!
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) I don't understand the logic behind this post at all... If I was a Yankees, Angels, or Red Sox fan I would be more than happy with the White Sox winning the Central. And what makes you think they 'can't stand' us being in first place? Is this a conspiracy theory or a woe-is-me philosophy? This is known as going for the kill. If I were ANY team facing the Sox in the playoffs I would be licking my chops right now because of how we are playing. However, come October 3, let's hope the lion known as the Sox gets hungry again.
  19. Go see my post on the "Preparation H" ticket... Hammer/Hillary.
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 02:09 PM) He's the next Reagan 08 He just needs to good running mate to round out the ticket. Yea, maybe Hillary Clinton to round out both of their extremeisms. Now there's a dream ticket. The Hammer/Hillary. Talk about the need for Preparation 'HH' - what a pain in the ass that ticket would be.
  21. :puke :puke :puke I'm about to rename the pukey smilie "DeLay"
  22. May the power of the Rally Crede be with his entire family. Prayers are with you, Joe and Mrs. Crede.
  23. Gload hasn't proved much to me *AT THE MAJOR LEAGUE* level. Lights out at AAA doesn't mean crap.
