  1. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:42 PM) I can root for the Sox but I can't root for that display of s***ball. And I definately didn't want that s*** to happen. s*** like that happens when you don't score runs when you should. ok, that I can agree with. But to dis us for hoping they can hang on is BS. That was my point.
  2. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:41 PM) Did you just miss the most pitiful display of baseball in that inning? The rest of us saw it. Yea, I saw it. But it's almost like you wanted it to happen to prove you right. If you root against your team that bad, get a new f***ing team to root for, hmmmmmmkay?
  3. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:36 PM) STFU yourself. We were right and you and the other tools were wrong. OK, fine. But leave it alone. Why can't we believe in our team, unlike you? You NEVER f***ing beleive. So why watch them? All you f***ing do is s*** on them and I am getting really sick of it.
  4. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 30, 2005 -> 10:35 PM) WHERE ARE THE OPTIMISTS NOW? Dumbasses. Jabroni, you may be right, but STFU. If you hate the team this f***ing bad, then don't watch them.
  5. They have the camera on MB - he looks thouroughly pissed.
  6. s***. Double s***. Frank getting injured right away is NOT what we needed. /obvious statement
  7. Is there ANYONE else on the bench to pinch it? ANYONE? I'll agree, this was a flat out stupid ass move.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) They left 11 on base yesterday. The 20 is personal LOB, which isn't the real stat. You're right, it was 9 through 7 innings... then they left two more in the eigth.
  9. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) Have you watched the game? They should have easily scored more than 3 runs. It's kinda like yesterday. They should have scored more then they did, I think they left 9 on base. They're getting on, they just can't clutch hit to save their lives right now... which is total opposite in April. I agree in the sense that we need a 15-2 kinda game to break out. Then I think we'll get back on the horse and get going again.
  10. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) Ahhh, back to corpseball. Man... yes, we are struggling, but we're up 3-2. I don't think you'll be happy until we win 15-0 every day with no errors.
  11. QUOTE(JimH @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) 38,000+ at the ballpark today. What a s***ty attendance.
  12. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ May 30, 2005 -> 06:21 PM) I'm not surprised at all. The citizens of France haven't bought into the global economy like we have. They voted no to an expansion of powers that would have given greater wealth & power to multi-national corps. Including greater ability to import cheaper labor. It didn't help the EU that Lucas' Revenge of the Sith paints a frightening picture of what could happen when sovereign nations give up their power to a chancellor/president. Without a balance of power & a constitution to insure that balance a chancellor is one step away from an emperor. I bet those French voted based upon "revenge of the sith".
  13. France rejects EU - which basically kills unification in Eurpoe. Those crazy French. France Rejects EU
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 30, 2005 -> 03:56 AM) A short rant by me... What the Hell happened to our supposed "Smart Ball" from earlier in the year? When is the last time anyone can remember our team bunting someone over to 2nd? When is the last time we had an actual sacrifice fly with a guy on 3rd? Back at the beginning of the year, or heck even 2 weeks ago, the things that were working the best for us was moving the runners along and knocking them in, even in cases where Pods wasn't on base stealing them. Everett was leading the league in Sac Flies for quite some time. And on top of that...what happened to the massive amount of double plays we were turnign to start the year? Suddenly we can barely turn in a double play a series, at least to my eyes. And we sure as hell can't turn one in a key situation. Ozzie took this team to the best record in the bigs by playing smart ball. When people got on base, we'd give up an out to get them over. We weren't getting 5 run innings, but we were putting men across the plate. Ozzie loves saying "Speed never goes into a slump." SO HOW THE HELL ARE WE IN A SLUMP? I'll tell you why...because we stopped running...we stopped playing hard...we stopped putting pressure on the defense. Speed doesn't go into a slump. We stopped forcing the issue, so now we're in a slump. Good call. They were swining for the fences all damn weekend from what I could see.
  15. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ May 30, 2005 -> 04:28 AM) can someone please fix the title Done. Thanks for pointing it out.
  16. QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ May 30, 2005 -> 04:01 AM) I disagree, I don't think he's great but I think he's average for what we use him for. Texas are just swinging the bats like HOF's right now. He pitches prob an1/13 a week, but does avg a strike out an inning for his career. The guy does need to work on his control, but when he was a starter in the minors he had control problems, but over the course of the game he was able to work out of them..Here, like I said he's pitched like 7 innings the entire month and its hard to stay sharp when you don't pitch that much. I'm still high on cotts, last year was his first full year out of the pen and had more innings pitched then hits allowed and almost an a SO an inning. Guy has a good arm, but you're right..has to do better against the first batter faced. I think a lot of that is mental, too. He just needs to work through it. I feel ok about Cottsy long term. I sure as hell don't about Shingo though.
  17. QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ May 30, 2005 -> 04:26 AM) Win or lose tomorrow, it will be nice to see The Big Hurt back. I'll have my 1990 Thomas jersey on, for all you I-HATE-CREDE haters. LMAO. ok, ok. Maybe you're not so bad after all.
  18. QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ May 30, 2005 -> 04:24 AM) Tony bashed me ealrier, completely unprovoked. Where were you to defend me then. I didn't see that, but I have seen you going around and getting in arguments with just about everyone here on your first day of posting. Let's just say that if that keeps up, you're going to be on a pretty short leash. It's cool to disagree and debate, but damn, lay off a little.
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 30, 2005 -> 03:48 AM) Yeah, but think about this: We've now got Iguchi at 2nd base instead of...aw heck, was Jimenez still here or was Harris at 2b then? We've got Pierzynski catching instead of Olivo/Alomar. We've got Uribe instead of Valentin. We've got ARow in Center. We don't have the biggest of the big guns from that year's lineup. But we're much more solid at the positions that in 2003 were weaker. We just need a few guys to snap out of some ridiculous funks. Uribe, Crede, Dye, Everett, and now Pods. I have a good feeling about Frank coming back and getting the guys to relax a little. Frank's not going to be the cure-all, but he CAN make a difference in a ballgame, and that should be enough to let the guys who have not had THE spotlight on them to perform a little better.
  20. QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ May 30, 2005 -> 04:21 AM) I went to a Wheaton Warrenville football game last fall......they got their asses kicked. Dude, WTF? Are you going to pick a fight with every poster on here? Why even make the comment, except to start s***? Back off.
  21. I remember seeing Borchard's shot on TV. 504 feet. That's just MASSIVE.
  22. I will say that there are a lot of good things happening with our pitchers down on the farm. I think out of all the talent someone's going to pan out to be THE real deal.
  23. That was only the 11th home run to be hit in the club section at the Ballpark. That thing just EXPLODED off the bat. I don't think I've seen one get out like that one did - live.
