I'd be in heaven if he went to the Sox. Guess what team has shown the most interest in him? Well, it's a tie... Cleveland and Minnesota. Followed by Milwaukee and Toronto.
-
From what I have seen (lots of video) he's really a lot like Konerko - but has better hands... which should bode him well. He's also not as much of a dead pull hitter, which is a definite plus. He can hit to all fields.
-
Damn, you guys are fast. Like I said, I have a vested interest in this kid. Let's hope he makes it.
-
If/When someone sees this name pop up on the draft board, let me know, PM, email, whatever. Nick Welgarz I sort of have an interest in this kid...
-
Shingo was effective tonight because he faced NL batters. They don't know him nor do they scout him like the AL. Let him pitch his ass off this week to get his confidence back... and wallah, we have an effective Shingo again (we hope).

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) Hard core partisan politics sound the same from both parties. They both need an enemy to target, a big scary monster under the bed that will cause people to open up the checkbooks. Same with many types of fundraising. Notice how Christian Fundamentalists found the homosexual card to play after communism was wiped off the front page? Give now or we'll all be commies by News Years Day. Don't you mean to say we'll all be homosexuals by New Years Day unless we elect 100% Republican? I mean come on, they can stop anything. /no offense to those that are - I'm saying this because the so called "evangelicals" are nuts.

QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 10:50 AM) kill us? I forgot... the Sox's record is 19-37. Oh, wait.... You'd think, with the doom and gloomers.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) Will someone please tell Ozzie that he has the MLB leader in stolen bases on his bench? We need Milkman to be right. Then it won't matter.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 10:02 PM) Should PH Crede here. Uribe looks like a f***ing idiot. LMFAO. Hypocrasy knows no ends around here. /note this isn't against you Milkman - but I just laugh because I never thought I would see pinch hit and bring in CREDE right here.

They did this in Dallas too. And JACK has just absolutely kicked the s*** out of other stations as far as ratings.

QUOTE(dmbjeff @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) The baseball draft is much harder than the NFL or NBA and very few people know anything about the prospects in MLB. Well our friends at ESPN rated some of the best and worst draft picks of the past 40-50 years at each draft position. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/stor...alan&id=2074809 Frank Thomas is on the list, as well as Robin Ventura. They also have a few busts on their list and one in particular is very disturbing. In 1985, our Sox took Kurt Brown. Who is/was Kurt Brown, he was an "unproven high school catcher", but the pick directly following Brown, was a guy named Barry Bonds. I know Bonds is a major tool and at this point of his career after the cheating and lying. I wish he'd just retire but to think what our team could have been through the late 80's into the 90's. Now I love the Hawk, but I also do believe he was the GM for one season in 1985, I could be wrong on this, but it had to be the worst baseball decision of his life, if in fact I'm correct about the year he GM'd. Check out the article, interesting read about certain players, good and bad. I also apologize if this is real old news and if it has been brought up before, but thought it was interesting for fans who weren't aware. How many other teams passed over Barry Bonds? How many teams passed over Mark Buehrle? How many teams passed over... You get the point. You never know in the draft. It's a crapshoot.

QUOTE(laazydotcom @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 04:27 AM) One opinion that I want to be heard is that the servers that run this site are slooooww. The databases are probably the root of the problem. Serving up too much moderately useless stuff. Oh really? Seems like no one else has those problems. And with the one word answers and not really having anything to say, why are you here? -
QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 02:45 AM) He is obviously being a wise ass on the heels of the flare up with Guillen. I didn't see it, so I take it by what you said it was tongue in cheek, eh?

This after the f***er had to piss all over the Sox for not bringing him in on Monday? What a f***tard. Enough said.

Nah. These bastards are telling the truth. Just ask the media. They wouldn't lie.

Howard Dean is the best thing to happen to the Republican Party since Ronald Reagan. From June 2, 2005 USA Today Online: What a f***ing moron. This is the guy who is going to win them the 2008 election?

QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) I love this post and feel the same way. Big picture. They aren't trying to throw games away, it's Guillens's philosophy to try and give guys 2 days off in a row. We can argue about that if the board wants, but lots of managers do that. They sit a guy who's been playing a lot for one game when there's an off day the next day. It's not unusual. People were squawking he is burning out the bullpen, seems to me he is trying hard to keep the bullpen fresh. I am no apologist either but I see what he's trying to do, even though I don't agree with it all the time. Bingo. There's too many people here who cannot look past their nose (today's game). Ozzie will not make the right decisions - that much is obvious. But to piss and whine and moan isn't going to change it, is it? -
QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 07:22 PM) I was just about to post a thread about this... Very Classy... Say what you want about Shaq...but the Big Man just showed me his Big Heart! Exactly. Shaq.

QUOTE(mreye @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) I don't think this is the qualifier for Boston. This is the Lakeshore Marathon on Memorial Day. The qualifier is the LaSalle Bank Marathon, usuallly run in October. oh yea. Good call.
