    Runaway Bride 2..

    QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) So I suppose because of the 3 or 4 idiot fans that caused trouble at Comiskey the past 3 years all fans should stay away..? :rolly Yea, and that's why attendance is such a problem right now.

    QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) The problem with what people...? You "I don't care" people... and I was joking.
  3. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 01:47 PM) I wonder who will start on Friday- Everett or Thomas? With the way Thomas, Dye, Rowand, Everett and Podsednick are swinging th bat- now I know how Ozzie can get constant head-aches while making his lineup cards. It's about damn time we have this problem!!!
  4. These are pretty good. Especially the cow one.

    QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) I don't care. See? And that's the problem with you people... Seriously, though, generally people who have criminal backgrounds people tend to look the other way. It's all about me getting my entertainment, not what's right or wrong or standing for a principle. I know that you would stand on principle, steff, when you felt like it was called for, but most in society don't. That's all I'm trying to say. Back to Jennifer, how many people are going to flock to the movies or the tv to watch her story? I would say not many. And it's because people don't really care, not because they are punishing her for being a criminal, which was what southsider was saying.
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) An amendment on flag burning is a joke IMO. There are a lot bigger things they could actually be working on, hell I'd rather seem them helping to find the killer with OJ. This is a freedom of expression. The line in the sand for freedom of expression is does it harm someone else. In this case the answer is no. To me this is as symbolic as buring an apple pie or baseball, as buring a flag is just an expression. There is zero need to rewrite the consititution to look like a good American. Congress may pass it but I bet the states don't.

    QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) So punish the entire team for the mistakes of few..?? No offense kap.. but that analogy sucked, IMO. That's a gray area for sports, but we honestly do as a society condone this stuff. How about a leading role in a film by someone who has been convicted, then?

    But technically they broke the law. Both Detroit and Indiana are actually pretty classy organizations, but there are players on both teams that broke the law. What about all the people who have been arrested for domestic violence playing sports? We still buy the tickets and that supports them - even though it's indirectly. That's my point.

    The thing is though that society tends to reward "criminals" all the time. Look at Detroit and Indiana in the NBA, for example.
  10. There's enough camera crews, etc that were watching the towers at that point with sound - you would have heard the charges being set off. Do you? Has anyone from the main media amplified the sound when the towers started falling?
  11. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 09:44 PM) Yes, it cartainly would be a lot harder to dismiss any 9-11 conspiracy theories had PNAC not spelled out their intentions and their desire for a catylizing national tragedy so candidly and clearly. So did Tom Clancy in his books. So is he a "traitor" and a "conspirator" like the labels that are being insinuated here?
  12. Overheard, somewhere in the grocery aisle... Boz, put that back. Put that back, NOW!
  13. oh brother... here we go again. :rolly :rolly :rolly
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 08:37 PM) For the second time Kap... they, in their own words, feel that he's guilty.. based on the information presented... that they were not allowed to use.. feel he has molested. Their words.. not mine. For the second time, ... Seriously, I think we're saying the same thing. Based on the evidence that they presented in this case, they couldn't convict. That's the bottom line.
  15. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 08:06 PM) They, based on their gut feelings.. allowed a pedophile to walk free. I hope they are proud of themselves. No, they followed the law. Nothing more, nothing less. You can't convict the guy on the evidence presented. He's guilty as hell, but the law is the law.
  16. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) I understand that... however if they were to ignore the past - to show a pattern - then the 1108 NEVER should have been brought into play. If they had used it in any part of the logic he would have been convicted. I simply don't understand why it was allowed in if it was basically not to be used. Makes no sense. You're right. That's how poor this case was managed, IMO.
  17. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) If they had a bar and some dancing girls, I would never leave! /writes this down for a business plan... Fry's dancers and electronics boutique - who's with me?
  18. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 07:45 PM) Jurors think he molested before.. http://www.elitestv.com/pub/2005/Jun/EEN42b04b4f868d6.html What I was led to believe is that this is specifically why the 1108 was bought in to make them see he's a pedophile, show a pattern. Also, the morning after the verdict was delivered, Juror #1 told Nancy Grace that he did not believe the testimony of McCauley Culkin, Wade Robeson or Brett Barnes. He thought that all 3 had lied on the stand and that they been molested by MJ. IMO all future jurors should have to attend a half-day class before their trial begins. "Jury Duty 101" should include, among other things, the definitions of Hearsay Evidence, Circumstantial Evidence, and Reasonable Doubt. JMO anyway.. Steff, what happened in the past was not what they were instructed to deliberate on. The pattern was presented as evidence, but they were to consider it, not base their decision on it. In this case, the prosecution was flat out terrible, and based on the evidence presented in this case he gets to walk, and it's a damn shame. This trial wasn't based on the evidence of the past... it was allowed to be introduced only to establish the pattern, not to convict. I hate to say it, but the jury is right on this one.
  19. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) They have great deals on just about everything and they sell anything you want electronically. I can spend the entire day in that damn store. It's too close to my work... I go in there at lunch and invariably leave with something every time.
  20. They run door busters, and damn good ones, all the time down here. And, the regular prices are pretty damn good too, better then Best Buy on average.
  21. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 05:26 PM) Ty Cobb may be traded as well. I hear he may go to the White Sox. I hear he's better dead then Joe Crede.
  22. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 06:19 PM) Only in Indiana.... Damn, you got it, girl.
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 07:12 PM) Probably. Pardon me for violating the "no repeat threads" rule.. Yea. Dammit. Don't do that. Spammer. I don't really care, I just remember seeing this not too long ago, that's all.
  24. There's 5 of them in the metroplex (Dallas/Fort Worth and surrounding cities). That place just kicks MAJOR ass. I never even go to Best Buy now, because Fry's kicks the s*** out of them as far as prices and stuff they have. The most dangerous thing I possess is a credit card from Fry's with too large of a limit...
