  1. Dude, this makes too much sense. Don't you know, the GOVERNMENT is supposed to do all this for us? I know I keep harping on the same thing - but you have to figure this out for yourself. I think the principles applied above is what we should be all about, not looking to the government to help us. Helping hand, maybe. That's the original intent of FDR's "social" programs. The intent was to lift the country out of a bad time, not to have people feel entitled to it.
  2. But this movie wasn't propaganda, just fact... rolleyeyes.gif

    Women Arrested

    Got beer for tonight? hehe.
  5. It's because there are never two sides to anything when it's for their own good. Hence my signature... THEY ALL DO IT.
  6. I'm gonna say this for the record. After watching all this, seriously, John Kerry and John Edwards are good people. They're even likeable... they are a lot more soft-spoken and eloquent then our current administration. I think these guys genuinely want to better America, I think their hearts are in the right places. I just simply disagree with their ways to get there. Kudos for the DNC. They did a great job.
  7. Cut those tax loopholes on companies abroad, EXCEPT FOOD COMPANIES. Now why would he do that?................................. (Jeapordy music)..... The question is, who is Teresa Heinz, Alex?
  8. Hehehe... you gotta love auto-reply. But at least you got an email back, unlike those cheap Bush bastards.
  9. That only goes so far. You HAVE TO CURB SPENDING, something this current version of our government doesn't understand.
  10. Tex, Spending is the problem. You can't overspend your projections of incoming cash. Tax cuts are fine if you reduce the pork spending. That's my single biggest beef with GWB, he's a spending ass fool. Anyway... I agree with you on that ...
  11. Yea, it's very close to that. And the line for the top 20% was around $150k gross income IIRC. It's been a while.
  12. I'll have to go back and research the stats, I did it a year ago after the tax cuts were enacted, so my source wasn't "talk shows", it was me. I may have misquoted the exact amounts in the other thread we're both thinking of, but I do know that the majority (read: over 50%) of the taxes are paid by people that make $150,000 and over. You also have to consider all the "poor" people that never file that would get all their money back. They don't really pay ANYTHING. Anyway I'll see if I can find all that stuff again in my spare time (I have so much right now, hehe).
  13. Tex, Do they really define that as "rich"? Listen to what they SAY, not what they write. They are playing on the "two Americas" thing and again I say, we are ALL Americans. They will not do s*** for the majority of the country... the $40,000-$125,000 annual crowd. They are doing fine according to them. They are totally forgetting us.
  14. well I didn't have those issues and I've been on paypal since 99 or so. Guess I can't be a part of it.
  15. well, at least Democrats can say the work "f***" too...
  16. I can, and maybe will, parse out what I agree with and disagree with later. I didn't get to watch this last night, but from the news clips I saw this morning, I think Kerry did a good job with the speech, but ... there's just certain positions he's talking about in this speech that totally contradicts what has been said in the past. I think the single biggest problem he has is, frankly, he sounds too much like Bush. And yes, that's the voters he's appealing for... he already has the support of the ultra-liberals (see this board elsewhere). But, if you hold his feet to the fire for his words here, and his voting record, he's got a problem because they TOTALLY contradict. More later, hopefully.
