  1. Hmm - I just thought of this. Would our organization have the balls to go out and get potential FA after this year, Carlos Delgado? He'd be real nice to sandwich right between Thomas and Maggs. We'd probably have to give up a lot though, which could be a problem...
  2. Some of you people and your knee-jerk reactions f***ing piss the hell out of me - seriously. Anahiem is 4+ in the win column, playing without a lot of their better players, and the Cubs were 11+ when we played them. THESE ARE GOOD TEAMS! I'm not saying it's ok to lose to these teams, but it happens; it's a 162 game season, streaks like these happen. I'll get concerned when we lose six or seven in a row, not four. Our offense is struggling, anyone can see that. But s*** man- one wrong pitch is why we lost this game. But go ahead - have that attitude, 'the season is over', blah blah blah. And don't come jumpin back on the wagon once September rolls along...
  3. Yeah - we need a lefty bat. I like JD Drew a lot. If Kenny could pull of a deal that would get us JD Drew (probably would have to give up Maggs). But that's probably a pipe dream...
  4. Airedale, I mean, I guess there's no reason you should pay any attention to this team anymore. I mean - they're done, they're toast. You predicted it so it will definitely come true. No point in even following this team anymore, you know, they aren't going to win the division. You yourself said so, so, I guess bye bye to you...
  5. Oh no! We lost four in a row! The sky is falling! Ahh! Someone, hide me! The sky is falling! Thanks for providing the comic relief, OTAD. I needed a good laugh.
  6. It was a fastball smack dab, center cut, right in the heart of the plate; probably the best pitch Carlos was going to see in the AB. I have no problem with it; had he hit it a little bit more to the right, it's a gapper and we might be talking about a White Sox Winner.
  7. Bleh. 6-2 Halos. Strikes out two and gives up a single. Damn damn damn.
  8. Chone is going to do some damage here. DJ just cursed him.
  9. So - I'm hearing that besides one pitch, Garcia was awesome? Unfortunately that one pitch hung and cost us three runs, but how did you guy think he did?
  10. Right - but Rodriguez' thoughts are probably like 'I'm not getting my curveball over right now, and the only way it's going to be effective is if I get ahead in the count. Gotta throw a firstball fastball for a strike.' Come on Neal... two on, nobody out.
  11. It was a good pitch. Basically right down the heart of the plate - Lee didn't get enough of it.
  12. Hey guys - I just got home. First - how did we score the two runs? Second, how did Freddy look? And how did they score four on him? Thanks.
  13. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say by July 31st, Jason Kendall, one of: Eddie Guardado, Shiggy, Brian Meadows, Scott Sullivan, and a lefty bat (Matt Stairs) will all be in White Sox unis. I really think Kenny is going to go to the extreme this year and improve this team dramatically.
  14. I'd want Pavano more, but I really think that some other team is going to throw a s***load of money Pavano's way, a team like Texas.
  15. OK - I didn't actaully mean they treated Reed like s***. I just think, for whatever reason, they're misjudging what Reed could and would have meant to our future. He was going to be our number one or two hitter in the lineup. We need that, a high OBP/avg guy, as opposed to the power Borchard brings. That's all. I need some sleep.
  16. SSI - I think you're totally misunderstanding SoxAce. In no way is he cheering for Borchard to fail. In fact, IIRC, he was a huge fan of BOTH Reed and Borchard while they were both still with us. He just thinks Reed should have been kept over Borchard, which I tend to agree with.
  17. Then again - I think this whole arguement is skewed. If you want to compare it to our OFs, it should be Reed vs. Borchard/Anderson/Sweeney. We had depth at the position, so we traded Reed. If you want to compare it trade-wise, that's obviously Olivo/Reed/Morse vs. Davis/Garcia. I'm just saying, this isn't about Reed vs. Borchard. This is about how our organization treated Jeremy Reed. I guess that's what the discussion is/should be about.
  18. Ah - then touche, SouthsideIrish, about the arm. I thought it was above average. However, I still contend that he is an above average runner, and even the BA tidbit says he is right now an average CFer, but improving. No where does it say he can't play CF, just says that if it turns out that he can't play it well, he can move to right.
  19. Nebraska will be an interesting team to watch, what's-his-name is coaching (the Raiders former coach). Callahan, Connahan, is that it? Well - you know what I mean, but, as usual, the Big 12 will be an interesting conference. And 1549, you are correct about Roberson. K-State will be led by either Sophomore Dylan Meier or Sophomore Allen Webb.
  20. No - READ WHAT I TYPED. Above average. Not average. And - please do, go ahead, and find me a scouting report where it says Reed is an average outfielder. Paste it on the board when you find it.
  21. MoS, I'm not even going to take the time and deal with you, because I guess you can't take the time to read my post and see I'm both a Reed backer and a Borchard backer...
  22. Where are you getting this from though? That he doesn't have the range for it? Are you just guessing? Where did you read this? ABoz said that Reed wasn't a gold glover, but still an above average outfielder. Aboz has seen Reed play before. Have you?
  23. SSI, now you're just pulling stuff out of your ass. A man without a position? He can play any OF position. Book it. And again, show me something that says that Reed can't stick it in CF?
