  1. Damn - Ben Sheets is a friggin' stud. He just mowed down the Cubbie lineup today, struck out like 7 of the first 9. And here comes Danny Kolb! Shut the f***ing door!
  2. :headshake If you're going to bash Kenny, at least use facts. You're throwing s*** at a wall right now. Kenny isn't stupid enough to trade a top prospect, a solid catcher, and a hit-or-miss SS for a top pitcher, and then not sign him.
  3. I was thinking the same thing. If his offensive potential is to that of Torii Hunter, then, uh, damn. I'm really placing high hopes on both of our OF draftees of 2003, Anderson and Sweeney. I really think we will see Anderson getting his feet wet at the major league level by September 2005 and have a chance to make the team in '06.
  4. WH1 and tony, who are you guys voting for? Because if we're voting for different people, then it's pointless. I'm voting for Thomas, just making sure that's who you guys are voting for....?
  5. If we got Pavano I'd go nuts! However - I think we should get one more lefty in our rotation (not Cotts - I like him but not yet a starter, unless he really proves himself in ST next year.) Right now - we should have Garcia, Buerhle, Garland, and Diaz penciled into our rotation, well at least that's what I think. One more lefty should be needed, considering that there are some real powerful lefties on the Cleveland/Minny (Broussard and Mauer come immediately to mind.) Thoughts?
  6. IIRC Ponson got 7 mill. over three years. Good deal - get this righty signed up for a couple of years, and hopefully we have our future two, three, and four pitchers locked up for a couple of years (Garcia, Buerhle, Garland).
  7. Excuse me, but how is a 2-0 count where Crede pops a slow fastball, chest high, up on the infield 'setting his players up to fail'? If Rowand grounds out, we're all complaining about him not bunting. Guillen made the right move, Crede didn't execute. Ill admit Ozzie has made his fair share of dumb decisions, but last night was not one of them.
  8. Ah - so the Frank Thomas era begins? Damn. Looking back at his numbers, he put up some astonishing numbers in the 90s.
  9. A couple of comments/questions: -How is Gio Gonzalez doing? -I think Brian Anderson is going to be an absolute stud. He seems to just hit wherever he goes. JMHO -Borchard is walking more. Good.
  10. Oh boy - we get swept and all of these types of threads pop up.
  11. Jose Valentin - and don't tell me he's not a leader because he struck out. He's the vocal leader of this team.
  12. Yeah, Lee showed absolutely no emotion on his homer. I mean, I bet the Sox went out there today and said 'Hey guys, let's try and not hit! Great idea!'.
  13. Oh - no problem. Sorry if my post came across as being jerk-ish, it wasn't meant to be.
  14. Maggs and Frank (Frank/Konerko being added via adding the DH to all AL play the rest of the year, sans the August 30th game vs. Phills). Frank isn't a .300 hitter, but he's very good at the plate, thus the high OBP.
  15. Yeah - Loaiza should thank his lucky stars he's an all-star this year, he sure as hell doesn't deserve one of two others in our rotation isn't in his spot.
  16. Why did last years' game suck? I think both games are awesome, and both games continue to be awesome. Also - NCAA and Madden, well at least for me, go hand-in-hand. I play a season in NCAA, export the rosters, play a season in Madden, do the offseason, play a season in NCAA, and the cycle goes on. Anyways- both games are awesome.
  17. I wonder what the correlation is between how our 1 and 2 hitters do in a game, and how many runs we score. That would really be interesting.
  18. Within or a week or two he'll be back. Book it.
  19. Tony, stop that! Quit talking s***!
  20. I know it hurts to be swept by the Cubs, but we're still in first. We're about to add two .300+ hitters to our lineup, plus, in about two weeks, our schedule gets a lot easier while the Twinkie schedule gets harder. Let them have their fun now, but last year, the Cub fans were probably saying the same things we are now (Obviously they weren't swept, but they still lost four out of six). Big picture here. We're tied for first, playing pretty crummy baseball, without TWO of our bigger hitters in the lineup, playing through, hands-down the TOUGHEST part of our schedule. Hopefully our players can put this behind them. Sorry if I am sounding like a homer here, but I for one am glad we are out of the NL parks, done. Well, hopefully we'll still have a couple games in NL ballparks left , so you know what I mean.
  21. Harris - wonder why you're not playing? Not hitting, and now you're defense down the s***ter too?
