Everyone here was begging for pitching help, begging. Kenny goes and gets us the best starter available in Freddy Garcia, and you guys b****. Look - he might have overpaid a bit, but pitching is what is going to win us this division. Kenny went out and just got us a top of the line pitcher. I know it hurts losing Olivo, but he was only catching two of our four pitchers. We now have Garcia-Buerhle-Loaiza as our Big 3. I'm excited as hell about that...

Taking it all in now: For years and years, we've had awesome lineups, and what have we done? Jack squat. Right now, for the first time in a long time, we have five pitchers who I have confidence in. Garcia-Buerhle-Loaiza-Garland-Schoenewies. We finally have our five pitchers. Not to mention Diaz and Rauch, who could potentially help out in the bullpen. Remember when we were asking a while ago, "If you had one pitcher to take the ball in games 1, 4, and 7 of the ALCS, who would it be?" Well, I think we have our answer. Welcome to Chicago, Freddy!

Trying to be somewhat rationalized here: Pitching will win us the AL Central. Pitching will win us the ALCS. Pitching will win us a World Series. Welcome to Chicago, Freddy. You are now our Number 1 pitcher. Perform like it, get us into the playoffs, and Chicago will love you. Best of luck, buddy! Good luck in Seattle MO! Good luck in Seattle Reed!

OK I'm really pissed right now but let me just get something off my chest: I should be taking some of my own advice as well, but let the trade develop first before we judge it. Look, I know we lost Olivo, a budding catching star, and Reed, a future fixture in our outfield. But pitching is what is going to get us over the hump. I know a lot of you are pissed - I am too, but let Garcia suck ass before we rip him. Hell, what if he comes here and dominates. Just saying...

I don't understand this organization's hard-on for Joe Borchard. I mean, Reed was exactly what this team needed in a year or two, a lefty who could hit for high average/high OBP. I love Freddy Garcia, but man, Olivo AND Reed? Come the f*** on...

Olivo is gone... We'll see how underappreciated he was soon enough, watch as all of these f***ers run all over this team? Sandy and Jamie Burke behind the plate? Are you f***ing kidding me?

And a couple of days ago, people were talking about the possibility of being five out headed into this series. Now we need some big games pitched by Buerhle, Rauch, and Garland. Hopefully Kenny can pick up some extra ammo (i.e. Ortiz, Garcia, Finley, Jones, whatever). WHITE SOX WINNER!

Right - I was just saying that normally this year he's hit his trouble when he's gone more than one inning. Either way, superb job today by Clifford.

We just gotta get that bum Mike Jackson out of the bullpen and we'll be alright. Nice two innings there by Cliff, however, I hope Ozzie, in closer games, only uses Cliff for one inning. He usually starts to suck when he gets into the second inning of work.

Actually (knocking on wood) I'm starting to gain my confidence back in Politte. We have four relievers, IMHO (again, knocking on wood), who are somewhat reliable - Adkins and Politte being somewhat reliable, and Shingo and Marte being very solid.

Is Loaiza done for this game (pitch count?)? Who do we go to in our bullpen? Marte only faced like one hitter (or was it two) yesterday, so he's good. I don't think Politte can go today. Who should we go to?

Anyone know Loaiza's pitch count?

It's not like his stuff is regressing though, it's his mindset of not pitching inside that has regressed. Last year, he threw to every part of the plate. Now he goes outside-outside-outside, and hitters are basically leaning on and over the plate.

If one of you guys would have told me before the series, that out of Felix Diaz-Jon Garland-Esteban Loaiza that Diaz would have the best start, I would have said that we'd be in a position to sweep. How odd things are, that Felix Diaz has the best outting out of the three of them. It's kind of scary to think that, though...
