  1. Not defending Carlos, but it didn't help that the homerun sirens were going off and the piano rendition of 'Nah Nah Hey Hey' started, but either way, he should have busted ass out of the box till he got a signal from the ump that it was a goner.
  2. Umm - Actually I'm not sure, I was just thinking about that it was cool that soxtalk and futuresox got shoutouts. Towards the end of the call, though, they were talking about how we shouldn't throw back homeruns, even if a Cub hits one this weekend.
  3. Exactly. And had Jackson gotten out of it we'd have a 'Guillen - the Genious' thread. Players gotta perform. A fastball right down the middle of the plate and Broussard said, 'Thank you sir!' and hit it out.
  4. Something like "First, I'd like to give a shoutout to soxtalk and futuresox." And then he went on with the rest of the call...
  5. At least Soxtalk and Futuresox got a hit on Dave Wills post game show - Ross called in and gave the shoutout, so that's cool...
  6. IMO he's one pitch away from being a very good pitcher.
  7. But it hasn't been for the half-price nights. For example, I remember the Atlanta series, a weekend series, and IIRC we had 25,000+ each night. And for MoTown04, I just :headshake and at every post you make...
  8. I thought I heard he said we had the best staff in the AL, but maybe I heard wrong. Maybe he was trying to say AL Central, Woodie isn't a very good speaker....
  9. No to Clement... IMO in the near future he is going to injure himself. He throws so many friggin breaking balls. Maybe I'm wrong and maybe he has a rubber arm, but I don't like the chances...
  10. It was the Elimination round, and Adonde and Woody Paige argued. Adonde stated the Cubs, saying they have dominant pitching, won it last year, blah blah. Paige said the Sox have the best staff in the AL Central, and stated it to be a weak division.
  11. Since I didn't want to start a new thread, this is a bit off topic, but there is a trade rumor going around, that would send Tyson Chandler, Pick Number 3, and a PTBNL (to even out salaries, Robinson or Pippen) to Boston for Paul Pierce. Yay? Nay? I was really dissappointed in the Bulls this year and I have sort of turned them off, you guys like this deal?
  12. During this morning's car ride home from Driver's Ed, my father pained me in listening to the (bleh) Marri (bleh) Otti (bleh) Show (bleh). I wasn't really paying attention, but I heard something about 'On Around the Horn today, the question will be asked 'Which team has a better chance at the playoffs, Cubs or Sox?' Now, I'm not really into the whole Cubs/Sox pissing match until we play them (during that time I shred Cub fans to pieces ), but just wanted to give you guys the heads-up, I know some of you watch it, and it will be cool seeing the national perspective on us, from such great columnists like Woody Paige...
  13. In the end - all that counts is that another win is added on the left side of the column!
  14. And we have an 8-8 ballgame. f***ING s***...
  15. I don't understand why the f*** Frank Thomas' name is on there... I mean, why stir the pot? Yeah - Frank Thomas' .456 OBP, .292 Avg, 17 HRs, and 43 RBIs really annoy the f*** out of me...
  16. He posted useless crap in the game thread, too. It's really getting annoying, yet he doesn't seem to want to listen...
  17. Can anyone tell me: a.) What was Honel's velocity before this injury? b.) What is his velocity now? I know it might take a few weeks for Honel to get his arm strength back up, but it would be really nice to have him back up to full speed.
  18. Frankly, I'd be pleased with a split.
  19. :headshake Why post things you yourself know the answer to, honestly...
  20. Agreed. Scott settled down nicely after that first inning. It wasn't a great outing, but considering his defense let him down for that fourth run, it wasn't a terrible outing either.
  21. And I agree 100% - as I stated in the game thread. Frankly, you might care about your post total, but no one else does...
  22. You never know what you're going to get with this team - you think they're down and out of it, no chance of winning, and they go out and put double digets on the board. You think this team is going to stomp all over a team, and they score one run.
