  1. DAMNIT! I just called this store that's five minutes away from my house, and they have the game in! Better yet, you don't even need a pre-order to buy it! But I already pre-ordered it at Gamestop, so I have to wait... Damnit. Last year I did the same exact thing, except opposite. I pre-ordered it from Gamecrazy, but Gamestop got it first. So this year I thought I'd try at Gamestop, yet Gamecrazy gets it first? WHY ME?!?!?!?!? WHY?!?!?!?
  2. Oh my freakin' gosh! The torture. This has to be the slowest f***ing day of the summer, seriously. Still three more hours... Me so sad...
  3. Which is good, IMO. An inning or two more in Bristol isn't worth surgery down the line. Play it safe.
  4. Yeah I'm so excited. I'm beggin my parents to get surround sound in the basement, I already have a huge Sony Vio in the basement, having surround sound would be f***ing awesome. The screen is supposed to f***in shake when you play. I'll be Northwestern, so my first year, except when I play at Michigan or Ohio State or Wisconson, I won't see it. But once I turn the Wildcats into a powerhouse, no one will want to come into my house... I think I'm going to try something new though, this year. If I get a head coaching offer from a Big 12 school or an SEC school, I'm definitely going to accept. BTW - just for reference, what teams will be in different conferences this year? Like - won't Miami be in the ACC?
  5. Yeah - that sounds right. Anyways - in this year's NCAA 2005, you can actually celebrate after individual plays, like a sack, or a big first down. And there's different celebration controls, like one controlling the mascot, one controlling the fans, and certain others controlling the player himself. :sigh: Three hours, 38 minutes till five o'clock... :headshake
  6. Same here - I played as Northwestern vs. FSU. Damn, I got my ass kicked. It was 28-0 at halftime, and I think I had eight fumbles... In eight minute quarters too, I'm serious... :puke But then I turned the tides a bit and played as Florida vs. FSU, and was up 34-7 at halftime. Oh one question - SnB, Krush, or anyone who plays the game - how do you do the TD celebrations again?? I forgot...
  7. The thing they aren't realizing is that their pitching hasn't been a problem. Glendon Rusch was solid filling for them - of course Wood will be better, but Rusch was solid. Their offense is the problem. If we Sox fans think our offense is inconsistent, the Cub offense is way way way more inconsistent. Plus - they really don't have a true leadoff hitter. Their offense, much like ours, is hit-or-miss, but I would take our offense over theirs any day of the week and twice on Sundays... And their bullpen sucks and they're crazy thinking Shingo will just fall off. I could see Shingo not being as dominant, but (knock on wood) he won't really just 'fall off'.
  8. Krush - have you been listening to Boers and Bernsy this morning? They're really pissing me off. They keep talking about how the Cubs will be ok, and that they still will probably win the division, and how the Sox aren't very good. Bleh - I usually like the two of them, but they're way off, IMO. They keep talking about how Shingo will eventually get caught up to, and that Garcia isn't that good... Ugh...
  9. That's true - I really don't expect much from my NU Basketball 'Cats, although IIRC they're getting two transfers, one from Duke (Michael Thompson, from Providence HS - I saw him play at the Lemont Christmas Tourney) and some other guy too, I heard he's good, but then again - that's not saying much. Anyways - I'm hoping for at the very least, another bowl appearance from the Wildcats this year. Basanez really needs to step up; and hopefully Noah Herron will be able to take the bulk of the carries. SHould be a fun year.
  10. Someone's just angry because the 'Cats beat up on the Illini last year (well, in football at least. and didn't we split in basketball?).
  11. I'm gonna call again around one. And then again around three. But until then, I'm going to play NCAA 2004, to get back into the NCAA groove. Ahh - the triple option, what a beautiful play, especially in Northwestern's offense. 'Basanez pitches it to Wright - breaks a tackle - and he's off, fourty, thirty, twenty, ten, TOUCHDOWN CATS!'
  12. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Gamestop said not in till five o'clock. DAMN DAMN DAMN! What the hell am I supposed to do for seven friggin hours? Bleh...
  13. Well guys, it's the morning. 9:55 AM. I leave for Gamestop in Orland in about ten minutes. WOOOH!
  14. Yeah - you're going to have a real hard time getting it without a pre-order. My best advice is for you to go to a place that really isn't known for 'video games', but will still be carrying it, such as a Target, K-Mart, etc. Hell - I remember a year ago when GTA Vice City was such a hit, I went to a record store and they had plenty of copies available. But you'll have no chance at a place like Gamestop, BestBuy, Circuit CIty...
  15. Wooh! Only about nine hours or so until I grasp the beautiful NCAA 2005 PS2 Game case. I'm so excited. (I'm such a nerd.) Anyways - ahem (In my best Hawk voice) I looooooove NCAA 2005...
  16. Crimson - since you seem to have this pretty well down, I have a question. What exactly is the thing talking to Norman in the movie(Spiderman 1)? You know, the thing that laughs and basically tells him what to do? Is that the Hob-Goblin? And if it is - why does he never appear in a certain form - like, why is he always appearing say in the mirror, or as a mask, but never as a fluid-form?
  17. Hey - I wanted to put this somewhere without starting a new post. But for those at the game today. Did you see when Joe Borchard was announced to come out on the field, in the opening intros, Mark Buehrle was grabbing onto his arm and wouldn't let him out of the dugout? I was in the UD and thought that was hilarious.
  18. Yeah same here. Stopping the run, very easy, IMO. But the pass - it's not even the user's problem, it's just that the AI is so f***ing dumb. The corners play absolutely no defense. In the EA Producer Interview, he said that Shut-Down corners (Champ Bailey, Chris McAllister, Ty Law) will actually be effective. I'm really hoping that holds true.
  19. Yeah, they rolled over losing one out of three to those Cubbies... rolleyeyes.gif
  20. (I know this topic is about NCAA 2005 but for one last time, I wanted to talk about Madden 2004) I feel like I just got kicked in the balls. I'm in this Madden league (www.maddenleague.com), and I made it to the NFC Championship game (BTW - the winner of the league is rewarded 250 bucks) and got absolutely dominated, 59-23. I was down by 9 at halftime, and from there, I threw about four or five second half INTs, and got my ass kicked. Never have I been beaten so badly. But it posed the problems with Madden. He ran one play on defense, a punt return defense, and it was able to stop my offense. I know that seems wierd, but just by moving a couple of guys around, he was able to absolutely shut me down. Second - just by motioning his WRs, he was able to beat my bump-and-run coverage. The CBs in Madden are way too slow and way too sucky. I mean, all he had to do was throw passes up to Ron f***ing Dixon and he would beat the crappy Saint defense. And with this, I will sell both games tomorrow towards the purchase of NCAA 2005, and then I will come home and not leave the PS2 for at least seven hours. Here's to another successful year of Madden and NCAA Football.
  21. Oh boy, 4-0 Cubs. Sammy three run bomb.
  22. Damn - 1-0 Cubs. I dunno about the rest, but Wood just signed something like a 3 yr/32 Mill dollar contract in the offseason.
  23. :dips*** Yeah - I guess there's nothing called a Wildcard or anything like that... rolleyeyes.gif
  24. If I'm the St. Louis hitters, I'd take a lot of pitches. Get that pitch count up early, get Wood out of there ASAP. Renteria one out single. Pitch count up to ten!
  25. Same here, SnB. I don't even want to watch Loaiza pitch - he seriously might get absolutely shelled. I'll check in every once in a while to check the score, but most likely, I'll be enthralled in my NCAA 2005 Franchise...
