    Computer Help

The thunderstorm on Tuesday, IIRC, totally messed up my modem. So we called a technician (butchered that, sp...) and got a new modem, new router, new everything, basically. Just wanted to know - how do I adjust, well, I don't know what I'd be adjusting - but - on this site, when I read a thread, and hit PaleHose Talk, I want to be able to tell which posts I've read, and which I haven't read (usually indicated by a darkened arrow meaning unread, light-shaded meaning read). Can someone help me out?
  2. Well, I'm four games into my dynasty at a 3-1 record with the Northwestern Wildcats. So far, I've battled through a three week injury to my running back, a one game suspension to my QB, and a season ending surgery to my best defensive player, my SS. I just upset Minnesota, 13-10. My kicker hit a game winner with :19 seconds left to go. Surprisingly, the team I lost to was Kansas. My recievers couldn't catch a cold that game, and I lost 24-16, despite 16 fourth quarter points. I now play Ohio State at home, so a HUGE game coming up for me. I'll at least get my running back, Noah Herron, back. However, his replacement, Terrell Jordan (IIRC that's his name), has done an awesome job, so I'm gonna try and find formations where both of them are on the field at the same time.
  3. Is it just me or are guys getting injured very quickly in your game? I mean, do a lot of guys get injured? I've had like four injuries in two game. Maybe it's just me...
  4. We split with Texas, one of the best teams in the AL. Sure - this was a winnable game, but this is a very good team. I'm happy with a split, and now we have to go to the Jake and take at least one, go for two, against two of the best lefties in the AL. I have confidence in our lineup. Let's go get 'em, Sox!
  5. You yourself are a brain fart. Now go away...
  6. Oh I didn't see - is the game over yet? Hmm, looks like still three more outs for the Sox to use...
  7. Ah damn. Just got home, and a two run single makes it 6-4...
  8. I'll be out partying for a successful summer basketball league team party, but like MZ said, bring me home a White Sox Winner!
  9. Cards had a big four run inning, partly against the bullpen, partly against Beltran, to make it a 8-6 game. Pujols homered to make it 8-7, and in the eighth, Taguchi (sp?) tied it with a homer. Hawkins came in the ninth, gave up a two-run bomb to Pujols (who was 5-5, 3 homers) and a solo shot to Sanders. After he got the last out, he ran at the ump and started cussing him out, yelling at him. Several teammates/coaches had to hold him back, and he was then ejected. And I loved every second of it. GO CARDS!
  10. For Seabrook, he can either play again in the junior leagues, or in the NHL. He can't go to Norfolk - I don't know why or what the rule is on that, but it's either NHL or back with Red Deer.
  11. Struddy as a good guy, but he wasn't real great defensively. He was nice to have as a fourth-line tough guy, but that's about it. Speaking of defensemen, I really like Jim Vandermeer. I honestly think he can be a stable, number three defenseman in the future. He's big, skates well, and plays pretty solid D. What do you guys think our D will look like the next time we see the Hawks on the ice? Berard, Vandermeer, Babchuk, Robidas, McCarthy, then who? Barinka?
  12. Come and play on the southside? I think not. It's bad enough their overload fans have to come and piss up our stadium, I don't want the whole fanbase there for 81 games a year...
  13. I heard that a kid at Wrigley got hit with a piece of concrete - I guess it broke off and fell and hit the kid or something. Does anyone have a link to this? EDIT: Ah, stupid stupid stupid me. I see Texsox' post. Mods, delete or merge, when you please. Me = :dips***
  14. So true, RR. Starting off a thread with your first sentence including 'ignorant fools' makes you the ignorant fool...
  15. I'd offer him about 2years, 5 million per with a 5.5 team option for a third year. Jose sure as hell earned it...
  16. You didn't read what he said. Not a lot of guys are going to replace what Maggs leaves, but Carl would be a nice replacement. He'd also make about 10 million less than Maggs, money that can be used on pitching (Carl Pavano! Deep pink, maybe?). I'll tell you this, for sure: Pavano + Everett > Magglio Ordonez.
  17. Don't be such a hypocrite, then. Callis made a simple spelling mistake, or an error, and you call him an idiot for it. Sorry - cwsox, I'm done with this thread. Nice win tonight, btw.
  18. Very informative post, ManSoo... rolleyeyes.gif
  19. Seems that these days a thread needs to be started for every little thing that goes on. New thread: My Surprise Today! 'Guys, I woke up this morning, and when I was eating breakfast, I spilled some juice on myself! Thoughts?'
  20. The only negative I see is that Paully might be slumping - let's hope not, be's not looking too good up there right now. But other than that, great job tonight fellas. And this is and should be our lineup for the time that Frank is out, maybe switching Valentin and Rowand in the order.
  21. Like I said in the gamethread - his job was to throw strikes, not walk anyone. He was basically throwing all fastballs up there, and down by a lot, Blalock and Teixera were just sitting on it. So what. He's still better than Mike Jackson... Not saying much, but he's done a fine job in his 'mop up' role this year.
  22. Meh - Adkins job is to not walk anyone, throw strikes. Easiest pitch to throw for a strike is a fastball, so Teixera and Blalock were basically sitting on the pitches. Oh well, White Sox Winner!
  23. Adkins-diet to come and close it out in the ninth, I suppose? Nice outing by Clifford!
