  1. SnB, with those sliders, is the game still hard on AA? I mean, I'm Northwestern; I shouldn't be dominating teams like Ohio State and Michigan. I like how, in NCAA 2005, it's really, really hard for me to win games like those. Could you explain a bit more what those sliders will do, besides improve CPU run game and USER pass game?
  2. Yeah, because you know, Crede has never shown a history of hitting very well in the second half. I mean, we should just trade his sorry ass... rolleyeyes.gif Your intelligence is shining bright, my friend...
  3. Exactly what I was going to say. Great post, PM. I doubt ESPN had us getting Colon a year and a half ago, nor Everett and Alomar towards the deadline. Kenny usually flies under the radar, so-to-speak.
  4. ok and what has he done so wrong this year? Got injured? And if you want to talk to me about his stats, I'll just throw 127 ABs right back at you - which, in case you don't know, is too small a sample size to take anything from it. Really, you have no argument. You're biased against KW, and he could trade for Barry Bonds and you'd hate it.
  5. Yeah, I really regret how Carl hit .300+, 10 HRs, and 40+ RBIs with us last year. And he was so damn clutch, that it sucked. Sucky aquisition last year, sucky this year too. rolleyeyes.gif
  6. Yeah - let's judge a guy on 127 ABs... rolleyeyes.gif And I'd like to see you get pumped up about playing for the Montreal Expos.
  7. Unimpressed last year? He hit .301 with us last year, 10 homers, and 41 RBIs. He was the most clutch player we had down the stretch, and he actually played a decent CF (in no way am I recommending even placing him in left or right. Keep him at DH). He brought an emotion to our team that not many in baseball have, and IMO, he's the perfect player for 'Ozzieball' - or the mentality of having fun, playing with passion, and most importantly, winning. He's had 127 ABs this year - that's way too small of a sample size to take anything from it. Plus, you think he has to be pretty stoked to go from a last place, most boring place to play at in all the majors, simply bad team to a first place, contending, place where the stadium will be rockin' most nights, pretty solid team. Again - Kenny goes out and finds another way to improve this team. Did I mention how, down the stretch, this greatly, GREATLY imroves our bench? When Frank comes back, Carl Everett will be able to come off the bench in late innings and be a threat against both righties and lefties. I love the move.
  8. People do have names, you know - not just 'dude' and 'man'. His name is Gary Majewski (sp?), reliever for the AAA Knights. IIRC he's 24, and had something like a 3.20 ERA this year. He could turn out to be a pretty nice reliever, but not someone who you should lose a ton of sleep over losing.
  9. Meh - three runs against Mulder should get it done. We were up 3-1 on the A's, and the Loaiza lost it. Leaving a cookie right over the heart of the plate to Crosby didn't help much either. He's one of the best pitchers in the majors, and with our struggling O, three runs should have got it done. Loaiza needs to bear down; he didn't do so.
  10. Oh my gosh - some people on this board are really starting to get on my nerves. They see an opportunity to jump all over something and they do just that. Really pisses the hell out of me, especially on days like this.
  11. Kendall would really be a nice aquisition. He'd provide stability at the catcher position for a couple of years, he'd bring very good defense behind the plate to our team, and he could leadoff or bat second for us. Then again, he has a pretty big contract, so if we got him, I'd think Pitt would have to give us a lot of cash. But, now with Rauch gone, who becomes our main playing 'chip', so-to-speak? Munoz? Diaz?
  12. LOL! Explain to me how Joe Crede is a .100 hitter? Please, please do. Borchard is a fill-in at this point, he won't be around much longer. Maggs and Everett will be at RF and DH respectively, not to mention Everett's being a switch-hitter will help out our offense vs. right handers. As for Davis being a .100 hitter - I'd kill for .100 out of him at this point. We could really use another catcher, hopefully that is on Kenny's checklist as the Deadline dwindles by.
  13. Hindsight is 20/20, but keep soiling yourself because some people on this board actually took an optimistic view on things and happened to be wrong... rolleyeyes.gif
  14. Sox lose. Go get 'em tomorrow, Schoeney.
  15. Is Billy Koch on the White Sox? This is the PaleHose Forum, in other words, things that have to do with the Sox. Put it in the Sports Bar if you really feel the need to rip Billy. Tony is right; there was a thread like this already created. Just put a post in there and bump it, no need to make another post, especially in the wrong forum.
  16. Good point and I have no problem with that. Looks like a tie for first place in the AL Central. Go get 'em tomorrow, Schoeney!
  17. Tony - there are a lot of people on this board I don't get. Certain people feel like being negative all the time, certain people feel the need to pad their post stats by making all of their posts one line long, and certain people want to act like know-it-alls. I try to ignore their posts when I see their (remaining nameless) names...
  18. Uribe gets.... the whiff. One out. Top eight. No runners on. Oakland leads, 4-3.
  19. Come on Esty, get out of this, buddy! Strikeout! Runner on third, two out! 3-2 Sox!
  20. But is having Johnson > Garcia + Everett? Not trying to spin it either way, just wondering...
  21. Everett hit .300+ with about 10 HRs and 40 RBIs with us last year (IIRC, the RBI's could be wrong). He was very clutch with us last year and I'm glad to have him back. It's odd that there's nothing official on MLB.com, whitsox.com, or chicagosports.com. EDIT: Nevermind, it's up on whitesox.com Welcome back to the Southside, Carl!
  22. Really? Hit .150+? Davis will have his shot next season. But, in the offseason, he better work his ass off with Coach Walker in the batting cages. His swing is downright awful right now. Whenever his swing, his back foot comes off the ground and moves towards the plate, like he's trying to kill every pitch. It's about as bad as having the pitcher hit down there right now.
  23. How so? Garland/Buehrle/Garcia are already penciled in. Schoenewies will probably have a chance to have a shot in our rotation next year, same with Cotts. You have to imagine Kenny will go after another FA starter, and Diaz would definitely have the first shot over Rauch, considering he pitched much better. Your logic is flawed...
  24. For you guys saying Everett hasn't produced much this year, he's only had 127 ABs. That's a real small sample-size to take anything from him... He also breaks up the righties in our lineup, and we'll have a very potent 3-7 part of the order, especially against righties. Maggs/Lee/Everett/Konerko/Valentin? Maggs/Everett/Lee/Valentin/Konerko? Or scratch both of those, and Everett in the three spot? I like Maggs in the three spot, so I hope Everett is hitting fourth or fifth.
  25. It's Official! Rauch and Majewski for Everett.
