BJ Upton 3 years from now, won't be swinging at that pitch bailing out a young pitcher.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 06:42 PM) Felix Hernandez 9-2 coming off a Tigers' loss. That game coming up later, rain delay now. Underway now about 35-40 minutes late. Damn King Felix is pitching?! I like Seattle's chances. Of course anything can happen in a game (has an off night/bullpen blows it, etc..) but he is a stud.

Official 2009-2010 NHL Thread
QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 06:40 PM) People need to relax with the Cub comparisons. Yes, McDonough worked for the Cubs. Guess what? He was mainly their marketing guy there. Not to mention he's actually a white sox fan.

Favorite Screen Names
QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 06:19 PM) I think mine is probably the best in the whole wide world. It was before you capitalized your whole screen name.

White Sox rejected in bid for Halladay
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 12:45 PM) I'm not going to post the inside piece, but this is where it came from. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/wh...soxnt22.article OT:God your such a stiffie now. On topic.. I think we all know that KW is flying under the radar as usual. Halladay is probably not the only pitcher he's after.

Black Jack McDowell on tonight's loss and closers
QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 12:25 PM) Beckham forced the issue by being on fire. Well yea, being a stud helps, I won't even imagine if he was hitting like .240 what Ozzie would be doing.

Black Jack McDowell on tonight's loss and closers
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 08:47 AM) Ozzie is not going to like this, I am pretty sure of that. He was not happy with the Bacon criticism either You noticed how after that blog was made, Slayer has only missed what... 1 game? He won't be nearly as dicked around. Ozzie might not like it, and even Hawk can add his 2 cents, but the organization takes it to heart. I don't agree with BlackJack on this one though.

Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread
QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 11:56 PM) I love me some Tyrus as well, but I wouldn't shed 2 tears if he was traded tomorrow. I'd much rather keep an experienced guard who can defend his ass off. Unless he somehow improves that basketball IQ then he won't be a future star & it'll never bite the Bulls in the ass. I agree 100%, but the bulls WANT to deal him, which isn't what I was arguing. They are hesitant to deal Kirk Hinrich of all players, which is what I'm not getting. Tyrus also plays hard, defends his ass off, but Kirk is just a better defender, and hustler as well, a leader though T.O. prone and lacks the vision of a point guard. s*** Boozer for Tyrus + Hinrich? As the biggest Tyrus fan on this board, I would drive T2 to the airport, but not if the deal is lingering on moving Kirk f***ing Hinrich. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 11:27 PM) The problem is who plays guard if he is gone? Fair point, though I'm assuming Pargo was signed as a backup PG who can score off the bench. The off-season is far from over though.

Thornton may be unavailable coming up

What's wrong with Bobby Jenks?
It's funny too cause his K/BB rate/ratio has been very good this year. He's basically Rod Beck 2.0 right now, cept this is one of the rare saves he's blown.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 10:36 PM) Dusty Baker loves this line of thinking. Which is funny cause I call Ozzie the latino Dusty Baker except he's much better of handling pitchers. But their managing styles are eerily similar it's crazy.
