QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 12:19 AM) Fields and Lillbridge for Halladay? To me thats a very close deal, but J.P. needs that high round stud/#1 SP he wanted along with his SS which will be Lilly. You better include McColluch in there to get this one done.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 11:39 PM) A NO NO! Wow. That'll increase your trade value, huh? I was just telling Heads that same thing on AIM. His value is crazy high right now. Outstanding performance though.

World Series of Poker 2009
QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 10:54 PM) Sounds like Hellmuth had a typical blow up today. According to him, you should never call on a draw. I went over and watched Sunday and Monday. His grand enterance this year was him, dressed as Caesar with a bunch of girls with him. He walked around and shook people's hands like he was an emperor. Kinda funny. Alot of people despise him with a passion. But those same people I'll tell you also respect the hell outta him. I love Hellmuth.

How often do you clip your fingernails?
I bite the f***ers. My fingernails have never been tell at all throughout my life, as I've bite them when I'm nervous, bored, for the hell of it, and when I fight/box. Now my toe nails.. that's another story.

SOX v. Minnesota 7/10/09 - 7:10 CSN
Pitching to Mauer in that situation, having Steve and Hawk not even understand that as announcers was beyond ridiculous anyway. I would love to see Ozzie defend that one.

Nix trying LF
QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 06:14 PM) I like Nix so much better as an infielder. More than Getz actually, if Nix could actually hit (he hasn't really proved he can't FWIW). There's many reasons to like Nix. His upside is crazy high, his glove is very special. The only thing that's been holding him back for years is if he can actually hit a baseball. I've said that for a long time here. I liked him more than Getz in ST when they were battling out, though I still think you need a real player like Getz on your team. I mean Nix has a .740+ ops and he's only hitting like .230, that how much upside he COULD have.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 06:13 PM) Temp fix and in the off-season you sign Figgins to play 3B until the Cuban tank slides over there. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Though I still think Fields get too much hate here.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 06:04 PM) Jeff Francouer is similar to Carl Everett in that, Everett doesn’t believe in dinosaur’s and Francouer doesn’t believe in OBP. :lolhitting Nice. He's called that for a reason. A true "free-loader".

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 05:56 PM) Francoeur on the other hand...I'm speechless. I'm assuming they like his youth (still only 25) and think he has some upside, to go with that killer arm of his. Might not be bother that he can't take a walk, but hey.. it's the aggressiveness that counts right...

7/9 Games
QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 10:26 PM) Ever think he still is very raw as a pitcher and we are still working on him refining his mechanics/stuff? Well no s***.. coulda sworn I said something about mechanics (and/or maturity issues) on my original post.

7/9 Games
QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 09:53 PM) He has a great K:BB ratio, but he has been far from dominant in low A. His ERA is solid but unspectacular, and while he K's a lot of people, he also gives up a decent amount of hits as his opp. BA is not that impressive as it is .245, probably closer to .250 after today. I like Carter, but I don't think he's quite really earned a promotion yet. Bull, He and Hudson had nearly identical numbers in their first 4 starts in April. Hudson (rightfully so), gets the promotion and Carter is still pitching in low A. Now I don't know if it was mechanics to work on more with Carter or maturity issues (which I heard a rumor from) but he was actually well ahead of the curve in low A. I don't care if his era was 4.50, if your striking out guys at a ridiculous pace (10+ K9), not to mention your BB is very low (2.5 BB9), and your H to IP is solid, with a low WHIP, your ass should not be stuck in low A this long. Hell he had better numbers than Hudson in Great falls last year and was one of their dynamic go to pitchers in the playoffs. He should not be in low A this long plain and simple, even if it was maturity issues which I still seriously doubt.
