  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 08:23 PM) I also missed his first no hitter...but I swear I've missed some games where he got rocked!! Yea it's decided.. Every Mark Buehrle start you don't get to watch.
  2. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 08:07 PM) Huh, most of my cub fan friends texted me saying that even as a cubs fans Buehrle's performance was amazing. Guess I'm just friends with smart cub fans. Yes they do exist. They are hard to find, but you can come across a few of them. Personally, I like being friends more with the female kind.

When I was a kid, I thought getting spanked all the time was child abuse, mom & dad don't love me, blah, blah blah. But I'll tell ya what, I'm glad they did as it's helped me as a person in life become respectful, outgoing, polite, mature, etc.. Sure I can be a bad ass out here, but I know I'm not that kid acting a fool in public, or in a jail cell doing something stupid. I can also tell the difference between me and my sister who is my age, and my little brother who is about 7-8 years younger than me, on how wild he is cause of my parents getting older raising him.

Mitchell is human. Greene with a nice day so far in W-S and Lillibridge has another hit, with a walk. He's got his average up to .262 so far.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 07:43 PM) So I missed the game today due to a company picnic. Anything cool happen? I know your pissed on the inside. the ONE game you missed, and even though you "posted" in the game thread, (it isnt the same) Mark Buehrle makes history.
  6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 06:32 PM) Mark was so courageous to throw like this with Danks in such bad shape. Put his initials on the mound today. Should become a ritual now. Also fun fact, in each of Buehrle's no hitters (1 perfect game), we hit a grandslam in the games.
  7. SoxAce replied to DePloderer's topic in SLaM
All the good old posters are comming back. Great to see. Welcome back DePloderer, though I still say Goldy owns in the sig department.
  8. Haha first the new futuresox and not SoxNet? You guys are not playing around this year. I wonder if it was the Buehrle perfect game that put this idea over the top?
  9. Eric Cooper is also umpire #56 FYI. Crazy.
  10. QUOTE (qwerty @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 05:27 PM) Let the b****ing begin. What a bunch of s***!!! Why is your ass continued to get robbed by Tim Marsh for the best poster award.
  11. WOW. Now thats a man that should be requesting a trade.
  12. No-hitter and Perfect game. Game time No-hitter: 2 hours 3 minutes Game time Perfect Game: 2 hours 3 minutes Home plate umpire as mentioned: Eric Cooper twice. Both games.. 27 plate apperances.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 04:43 PM) Eric Cooper was the home plate umpire for both of Buehlre's No-Hitters. Nice avy. And MurcieOne beat you on that fact hours ago.
  14. He's gotten to report the games in the right time he's worked. He's seen Buehrle's No-hitter and Perfect game and luckally had to report on both days. Amazing.
  15. I love AJ's interview and the comcast line. AJ DID NOT CATCH BUEHRLE'S PERFECT GAME "Well this worked out great for me, I got to watch!!" - AJ.
  16. SoxAce replied to Nokona's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He caught the last out of a perfect game. He'll remember that forever.
  17. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) Cooper was the home plate umpire for Buehrle's no hitter, and the home plate umpire for his perfect game. Creepy. That is really crazy to hear. Thanks for sharing that..
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 03:57 PM) The Catch. :notworthy :headbang
  19. He is just amazing. No-Hitter, throws against the top offensive team in Texas (Texeira was still manning the power spot) and throws a perfect game against another top offensive team with speed to kill for short hits/bunts/etc. in the Rays. Not even counting the W.S. stuff with the wins/saves and his playoff start and reliefs being perfect. He is the luckiest/best/craziest pitcher I've ever gotten to see. Buehrle is retiring a whitesox.
  20. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 23, 2009 -> 03:44 PM) He just realized that he will never have to pay for a drink in Chicago ever again. There goes the boos for a while as well.
  21. JR should already get Mark's statue started as far as the blueprints at least.
  22. Wise and Buehrle just cost me my voice today... I've never been happier.
  23. Obama calling Buehrle. Knowing him, he also lost his voice.
