  1. QUOTE(dasox24 @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) I'm pretty psyched (even more than usual) about the draft this year since I have a friend who will probably be drafted, even though no matter what, he's going to college. That's crazy cuz I mentioned a post here a while ago a couple of buddies of mine are also probably gonna get drafted this year. Same thing though, I believe one is in college right now and the other is undecided yet. One is a pitcher and one is a hitter. Right now, I'm still trying to contact them since I'm not in college yet. Im gonna see if I can find a friends (the college one) stats on his school's website.
  2. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 08:15 PM) Well I said last night that inconclusive meant at least 2 months, so 8 to 12 weeks means at least 3 months. So now the Cubs lineup relies on the pretty fragile himself Aramis Ramirez, and a pitching staff full of China Dolls. Good luck! When I came home from work today, turned on the T.V., and heard about this, I immediately shut on my computer, went to soxtalk, and now giving you your props. You really called that from yesterday. It was a strange coincidence cuz you said if the cubs won, Lee's injured. Well... what do ya know... Nice call.
  3. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 05:31 PM) MVP= Steve Nash (the Suns were top 3 in the western conference all season without that Amare guy. Nash is clearly the main reason). Now I wouldn't say the "main" reason. I'm still pondering over him or Kobe Bryant. Yes I keep hearing about not having Amare. That's a real good excuse, but he did have Marion who is a really, really good player. Who the hell did Kobe have? He single handedly took his team to the playoffs. The only player who is a "cute" player is Lamar Odom and he's only stepped up his game this past week. I'm not saying Kobe is my pick, but I wouldn't say Nash is the clear favorite right now either even though Nash is very, very deserving. I just think I can really see The Lakers giving a good series in the playoffs, maybe even pulling the upset since they are the # 7th seed now I'd also like Billups to win it too, but I think they are gonna overlook him. It's a shame too.
  4. I just had to get this out... This is the first time that we've been in first place permanitally!! (no ties or anything) We are now 1 game ahead of the Tribe and I hope the sox never look back again this season.
  5. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 12:12 AM) You can thank Jim Thome for that. I have never seen a team who were now as patient in at-bats as the sox are cause of one player they've brought in. It is still early in the season, but it's nice to see these guys get good at-bats and be patient at the plate this season. Thome- 18/6 BB:K ratio (simply outstanding) Dye- 10/8 Konerko- 7/6 Uribe- 4/5 Iguchi- 6/11 AJ- 2/6 Pods- 3/5 Crede- 3/2 (to me he has made more contact and has a better eye so far this year, than I've ever seen him have.) BA- 4/17 (He's K'd an awful lot of course but he has gotten as many walks (more) as some of the players listed.) Hell I'll even say the bench players.. Mack- 3/8 Widger- 3/1 Cintron- 1/4 Gload 1/0 Pablo 0/2 (the only player who hasn't reached a base on BB.) It's just really nice to see regardless if it's only April 20th.
  6. So if we win tomorrow, are we still the 7th seed or do we move up to 6th? Cause we were 2-2 against Indiana in the season. I'd rather play NJ than Mia.
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 11:16 PM) Or Felix Hernandez. Wouldn't say that now Tony. Even though he only has like 3 career at-bats against Felix BA PWNS him.
  8. Thought I'd get this thread going.. Cleveland leads 2-0 that the top of the 4th inning. Jason Micheals had a 2 run single. Baltimore has left alot of runners (namely Roberts) on base already.
  9. QUOTE(Sam @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 11:26 AM) We (Mount Carmel) play against Divine Child, the Michigan state champion, tonight at 7 PM at UIC. No offense but I hate you guys and the school (hell I almost went there) You guys beat our baseball team (Carmel has an outstanding team) solid b-ball team, and football. You guys all around suck.
  10. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 06:46 PM) thats dissapointing It really, really is. I'm not saying he did it (which I doubt he did) but just to have your name speculated isn't good at all. Just at the wrong place at the wrong time (SF clubhouse) type thing.
  11. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 06:42 PM) OBVIOUSLY World Series odds are stupid 2 weeks into the season. That's not to say the Mets don't have a damn solid shot to make it to the NLCS and beyond. I'm basically saying "Beat the Braves." God I have how writers are fooled with how many big name players are on a team. The Braves have done it for 15+ years now, and noone is showing them respect? That's what I find odd. They play more like a team and we all know from the Twins the last few seasons it doesn't matter how much talent you have on the field on paper. Baseball is a team game. BTW, WH1, don't get testy with me young man.. I'm your friend dammit!!
  12. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) The Mets are legit Yea.. legitally overrated. 5-1 odds? C'mon. They have to beat the Braves to prove me wrong.
  13. Thome, Thome, Thome. I'm glad someone finally gave Konerko his props.
  14. Why I have an odd feeling The Widge will have a good day today?
  15. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 06:28 PM) doesnt bother me at all. I love BT&H At least I know you and Addy have very good taste. My kind of posters.
  16. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 06:21 PM) I think its the pose. Thats the boy band "We are all such great friends!" pose right there. I think you should make it a no doubter. Eh.. that's an ok shot, but I can get a better pic if I wanted. But hey, that's what close homies are all about and I still like one of the four (five if ya count Flesh) best rappers in Hip-Hop history. I'll consider it though if it kinda bothers posters here.
  17. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 06:18 PM) Its the thuggish ruggish boy band :finger :finger :finger
  18. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 06:14 PM) Unrelated: I know that's Bone Thugs in your avatar, ace, but, everytime I see it, I think it's the Backstreet Boys or some other boy-band. I don't know if it's the jerseys or what, but, I can't help it. Well Addy, I can understand, but minus Bizzy Bone, (who is mixed like me) these guys are clearly black. I thought you were gonna say Blackstreet. That's another "group" not "band" per say.. ya know.
  19. That's how my hair is right now, and my nickname is Jerry. I love Pablo.
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 05:32 PM) Colon flat out deserved it. Now I wouldn't say that Jas. And I'm surprised Felix that you had Buerhle on that list. Why not Garland? He had a career year. Not saying Buehrle is undeserving as well, but I'm just stating don't count out what Garland did. As a matter of fact, I remember a poster here who compared Garland and Santanas' stats to Colons and that Colon really shouldn't had gotten it. Garland's Line W-18 L-10 ERA-3.50 G-32 GS-32 CG-3 SHO-3 IP-221.0 H-212 R-93 ER-86 HR-26 BB-47 SO-115 Colon's Line W-21 L-8 ERA-3.48 G-33 GS-33 CG-2 SHO-0 IP-222.2 H-215 R-93 ER-86 HR-26 BB-43 SO-157 Santana's Line W-16 L-7 ERA-2.87 G-33 GS-33 CG-3 SHO-2 IP-231.2 H-180 R-77 ER-74 HR-22 BB-45 SO-238 And to mind you, Garland did miss a start, who knows how he would had done but I can bet you his line would had been better than Colons if we would started another game plus the year he had last season. You can make a case for Garland or Santana, but all that aside, Santana DID get robbed IMO, and this is evident.
  21. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 10:59 AM) This is the highest Thomas will ever be considered by the NBA. I hope the blazers take him and the bulls get Aldridge, he is much better. Aldridge or Noah (I wish he would had declared but I will never blame a guy for going to school) and I say "Giddy up" for the bulls. (signing Harrington wouldn't hurt eigher) The upside on Thomas though is he is really young and can improve dramatically in the NBA during seasoning. Barely 20 years old, I believe he will be the youngest top 10 pick chosen.
  22. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 03:11 PM) We won last year. These teams should fear us. Took the words right out of my mouth. I guarantee you the fans of their respected teams list us as their #1 scared threat to beat. Hands down. It's great that we have a problem like this cause were basically saying who COULD beat us. Which team can have a chance whereas they are saying "We have to beat the sox to win" (unless your one of the players cough.. Dmitri Young... cough)
  23. Finally I will have experience in the bedroom!!
