White Sox @ Mariners 4/25
QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 04:02 PM) Brian Anderson loves Safeco Field. It's funny you say that, cuz Seattle fans already are starting to hate BA now in his short career. He PWNS the Mariners. He's quickly becoming the Thome/Sweeney killer against them. (Mariner Killer) It's also good cause this series can probably give Brian some momentum in this road trip hopefully. I think he can have a nice game tonight! Go Sox!

White Sox v. Mariners
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 12:25 AM) The loss is on our best reliever(up to this point) as well. This game is killing me right now cause I hate losses like this but unfortunately that is baseball and s*** like this happens. Doesn't hurt as much knowing we were World Champs last year eigher. Any other time like chisonfan79 said, I would have screamed my ass off, cursing up a storm.

White Sox v. Mariners
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 12:23 AM) ozzie loves the righty/righty stuff though, so it's not like it was some unkown reason. Every manager likes the righty, righty match-up. It's common in baseball. BMac made a good pitch (personally I would had just challenged him with the heat after 2 change-ups) and Court knew what to do with it.

White Sox v. Mariners
Another 1 run loss this season, something that hardly ever happened last season. Hell, I thought we could had stole this one. The Mariners are horrible in one run games.

White Sox v. Mariners
Tough loss today man. BA kept it goin, but we just couldn't get it done. Let's take 2-3 then which we could use since we have not played well in West Coast games.

Borchard designated for assignment by the M's
Alot of athletes have made a mistake in their lives on something that could had changed their careers in some way even though noone could really blame them cause eigher it was for $, striving to be the best, or had a bigger ego/cockier (Tyson Chandler not going to college, Palmeiro taking steriods maybe costing himself the HOF, Drew Henson playing baseball instead of football etc.. etc..) Borchard will probably be included in this list when it's all said and done.

No doubt, I'm probably the best looking (sexy/handsome/whatever else) person on this site as far as the male posters.

Anderson's strikeout totals are alarming
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 23, 2006 -> 11:44 PM) I'm not counting his swinging bunt as a hit. I mean its a hit Sorry I couldn't resist. But I know in general what you mean, but Dye had alot of infield hits last year when he started off really slow for us and had alot of Dye hating threads. I think he and BA will a hit like that over a solid line drive right at someone anyday of the week to help them. But all in all, I agree with ya.

The Continuing Rise of Mark Buerhle
QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 23, 2006 -> 11:22 PM) They drank before... during... and after games... yet could still produce. That just reminds me... (and he was a serious womanizer..) I LOVE Babe Ruth. (not the chocolate bar the person )

Heading West, are the demons still there?
Man I tell ya what looking at the M's rotation they have REALLY improved from last year. If Pineiro has a good season, (starting off good right now) then they can be really a torn on the side in the AL West this year. Moyer-Pineiro-Hernandez-Washburn-Meche is really solid. Too bad their offense isn't that good especially Ichiro (of all people) hitting well below his usual self. (even though he has heated up now the last 5 games.

JD, only Afr. Amer. player on the Sox
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 23, 2006 -> 10:57 PM) It's still going to be hard to get African Americans to play baseball imo. I also agree that it's silly to worry about. Maybe I should have continued playing. Probably would have gotten drafted and represented fo my brothas! But then again... I would have been like Jeter, Tiger Woods, etc.. just a mixed breed.. (not 100% nothin)

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Only downside was Thome had an "off" day. Other than that, nice game all around. I'm glad BA is looking more comfortable at the plate. COUNT!!!!

Official High School Baseball Thread
QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Apr 23, 2006 -> 12:37 AM) They don't seem like a school that would be a baseball type. Suprising to me, a suburbanite though. Considering we have so many damn races in that school, plus every particular person liking other stuff, and being it's a public school.. I wouldn't say surprising. But I know where your comming from on this. Other than this year, we have had a damn solid baseball team, and damn outstanding bastketball team, and an average football team (just listing the 3 main sports not counting our very solid soccer team etc..)

Jim Thome sets Major League record
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 22, 2006 -> 11:25 PM) By the way, for Reading, Haigwood has 13 walks in 14 innings. 1-1, 3.07. WHIP of nearly 2. Gio on the other hand.... as good as he was here. I didn't mind losing Haigwood, but I really liked Gio as a spect here. Ah well. We can re-tool alittle on the draft comming up this year.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 22, 2006 -> 01:30 AM) That team is horrible. They lost to f***ign Westinghouse. WESTINGHOUSE! The guy who came in for the starting pitcher was pretty good. He had some good stuff and kept our batters of balance. I think we still scored lik 5 off him in 2 innings...and we only played 5. No wonder when I asked about thier team half of my friends never showed up.. Looks like Washington won't even sniff the playoffs this year. These bums are gonna break our streak we had for the most consecutive playoffs we've been in.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) Brooks beat Washington today 17-1. I went 1-4 with 2 RBI. Yea when I heard that I was like... DAMN!! I guess their pitching wasn't the same as last year. Dafnis (one of the studs on our team) shut you guys out twice last year I think in one of them he had a no-hitter till like the 6th but I believe he got like 15K's and 2BB with only 3-5 hits from your school. If only he took baseball more seriously (could hit/pitch) wasn't so lazy, and wasn't a cub fan (had to put that in there) I think he probably would have had the best potential to succeed in college get drafted pretty high, and probably make it (or sniffed) the bigs. Good talent wasted but I still know two guys who can do the things I just listed..

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 11:40 PM) Jon Garland. ^^^^^^^ Great example.

Brandon Phillips
I swear it seems like he is one of those guys who ya think was around forever, and yet is still really young. Kinda like Guzman when he was with the Twins.

QUOTE(Sam @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 10:39 PM) Where do you/did you go? I went to Bishop Noll first till I was a soph., then went to Washington H.S. That's where we played Carmel and other good teams.
