Well, the Bulls will go for their second try of a .500 record tonight against a division foe, Detroit. Haven't started a game thread at all for the Bulls so maybe with alittle help of Ace's magic, we can pull a win out of our hats. And no jokes about me eigher..

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 01:34 PM) True, i just wish he would learn how to take a walk. Yea, but you wish that on alot of people (Pierz) I definitely agree though. But I'll since his track record of hitting in the minors and his little time he had here (I really liked what I saw in him) anyday.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 01:27 PM) They need a guy who can play SS, 2B, 3B. That spot has Valdez written all over him.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) I would not do it, here is why. One, I hate trading within the division. The Sox rarely do it, haven't traded with KC in 15 years if my memory is holding up. Two, Graffanino has big health question marks. Labrum surgery, yikes. Three, I believe there are teams who think they can get the talent out of Harris and would pony up more than a 33 yr. old utility guy. I would swap him for a pitching prospect, maybe a good bullpen arm with upside. But that's just me, and I am certainly not in the inner circle. Graffy loves it in KC. This is really out of the question. He likes it there because damn near all of the players are his religion and all of them get along really well. (read this in an article a while back) I don't know if I want a guy who had two major surgeries on him at all.

QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 01:12 PM) Davis Perez Gload Valdez/Ozuna Harris Add in Burke and Everett later in the season (Carl will get alot of playing time since we are paying the $$ he's getting) and we have a deep bench. I like what they all bring and we can get alot of guys some time off. I think Dye will last the whole season because of this since he's been known to bite the injury bug..

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 01:12 PM) I don't expect Harris to be either Pierre or Podsednik, but some around here talk about Willie like he'll develop into a prolific basestealer and I just don't see that happening. I do. You don't steal damn near 80+ stolen bases in the minors and just automatically "lose the touch." Harris will have more confidense thanx to the Rock and won't have much pressure since Pods will probably lead the team. Also, Harris won't be the only one. Since ARow, Uribe and even Iguchi (we will probably get him) will get more playing time I expect them to get around 20-30+ easily for us and Harris chipping in his 20+ (if that stolen bases.) Ozzie has big plans for the kid and if Harris is more confident of his ability like his mouth, I think he'll be fine.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) Valid points. A question for you though ... let's assume for a sec they sign Iguchi. Do you think he would come over from Japan without some assurance he will at the very least get first crack at the starting job? Also, do you think the White Sox would pay $2.9M for two years guaranteed for a guy to come over and platoon at one position? It is not so much that the fans have a problem with Harris. Our opinions on a message board matter very little, to be blunt. To me, it's a huge concern when those associated with the team appear to have multiple problems with Harris. Huge red flag. I understand where your comming from and yes, Iguchi will get the starting job. I'm saying Harris has the ability to play more than one position. It's good cause he can play center, or if someone gets injured in the OF play there since Pods or ARow can play LF or CF. He can play second to give Iguchi a break or play 2nd and let Valdez play SS to give Uribe a breather. Harris will get his at-bats and IMO, his average will climb a bit this season just because he doesn't have to be forced to bat lefties. When it's all said and done I would be happy to see Harris bat .260-.270 20-30+ .340-.350. range. Definitely not out of the question. He can go to winter ball and bat against mostly all lefties, get experience, come back the following year more confident and ability to come through instead of eight times out of ten being an automatic out against a lefty.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) In all sincerity, this is what I would like to see happen. I know some of you would like Harris to come off the bench as a glorified "pinch runner," but look at last year's steals total. That was the final nail in the coffin. It was his first full god damn year in the bigs! Geez some people here give up on a kid so fast. Anyone who bats .250+ with a .340 obp in their first year should really look on the positive side not the negative. Ok, he didnt get 50+ bases like we thought he would but he he would have been playing regularly, I think he might have at least swiped 30 bags. Man I remember when most of the people here were saying give Crede a break it's his second year. Why not Harris? If we do get Iguchi good, but I would have Harris to split time, get some at-bats, and maybe get him in winter ball to work on hitting lefties. He's a good talent to have to the club. Jeckle, I would rather you not have a change in heart on this guy. If you like what you see, keep defending him. Cause there's people here who do have your back, or know what their talking about.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) I just remember the Family Guy bit where Quagmire was talking about how hot they are and the look on his face after they told him Hanson was an all guy band. No, Peter was asking which girl the four men (Peter, Quagmire, Cleveland, and Joe) would like to spend their life with stranded somewhere and Quagmire said Taylor Hanson. Cleveland said Hanson was a guy and Quagmire couldn't believe it! I can see why Taylor looks more like a girl then the other two. Saw them on MTV Cribs and geez I thought it was girl walking in and it was him.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jan 22, 2005 -> 12:29 PM) Me neither. That's why I'm so excited. ...plenty of room left. You've only been here 3 months. That's nothing compared to what he was posting earlier in 2004.

This might be one of the dumbest threads I've seen here. Minnys' was still the dumbest, but this is very close.

Which newcomer will have the biggest impact?
SoxAce replied to greasywheels121's topic in Pale Hose Talk
AJ IMO. -
Nelson is mah boy too, but our bullpen is already set. We already have Adkins waiting if someone goes down, or if were carrying six arms in the pen, and we have some young guys who are potentially ready. No need to waste a space in AAA.

I wonder if Greg Anthony is the only one that HAS a friggin clue what he's talkin about on that show. I remember he absoulutely PWNED that news reporter dude from yesterday talkin about a specific player if he was a peremiter guy or not. Man I love when Anthony analyzes. The only reason why I watch the ESPN show.

I Pedro Lopez. One of my favorite minor league players.
