  1. Never would've thought a poster would think JR isn't loyal regarding anyone. Almost reminds me of DWade's asinine statement about that when he was a FA (the first time).
  2. Still a far cry from the 99-101 (t102) he regularly hit in the past, but it's great to see him out there and healthy.
  3. Cordero looks great. Hitting 99 out there.
  4. He said his fitness though which is way different. If he was getting fatter per year then he'd have a case.
  5. You can be skeptical about being scared of Moncada regressing cause of his BABIP. Or being a bit of a b**** regarding (soft tissue) injuries. But his overall fitness is waaaaay down on the list. Other than Robert and Kopech he's probably the most fit guy on the team and always takes care of himself in that regard. Has a bit of a "pretty boy" vibe to me which only helps as well (gotta look good for the ladies).
  6. Not counting Rodon or the high school kids... Giolito, Kopech, Cease, Lopez, Dunning, Stiever, Lambert, Flores, Pilkington... our biggest weakness is in the lower minors. I just don't see it personally but I suppose they 'could' do it one last time (maybe prioritize a college LHP) and then go prep the next two picks similar to last draft. I personally would just like to get a 1st round talent prep player in this organization.
  7. I'm almost positive that is exactly what they're gonna do. Doesn't mean Grandal has to sit either (they might bench Encarnacion the first game and have him pinch hit if needed).
  8. Actually come to think of it, McCann will absolutely be on the opening day lineup.
  9. I actually think they'll go prep personally (I hope they do).
  10. About 25 posts in and I'm surprised I haven't seen a "the money is being spent!" joke yet.
  11. So if this does happen, only Giolito would be the lone major FA after 2023 (unless you like Lopez too).
  12. And a few posters here will be served delicious crow if he is indeed right (he was the first to break the news).
  13. Haha can't even catch a break on a homer in spring training.
  14. Yea I quickly edited my post after I double checked. Thanks.
  15. I think he would absolutely opt out if that is true in 2027. Still a huge win however (if true).
  16. Yermin just hits. Always has.
  17. Yea not a good deadline at all for Bowman. I advocated selling high on Gustafsson last season when he had an outlier year (was never a fan). And that return for Lehner is underwhelming considering the goalie he is, although I can understand it somewhat because the goalie market isn't great. We'll see what this Demin kid does but if he gets Mitchell signed, then that's a win. He and Mitchell are college teammates FYI. Hawks just need to pick a lane. They are becoming too much like the Red Wings holding onto the core guys as they age and thinking they can still compete. McDonough, Bowman, etc need to just rebuild this thing, not retool. You have Dach, Boqvist, DeBrincat, Mitchell (hopefully coming), etc. You are going to have another top 10 pick this year... stop adding bandaids and trading picks. Add to that.
  18. Nice play by Mendick there.
  19. He is going to be a pain in the ass for pitchers to get out. And we will all love it.
  20. Vaughn HBP. Stop hitting our precious!
  21. Nicky's shoulder looks healthy again.
  22. Law not a fan of Madrigal confirmed.
  23. Switch Robert and Mazara and I think that's exactly what he'll do.
