Jose Canseco was going ballistic on twitter last night.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 18, 2017 -> 04:11 PM) Those multiple recent concussions are a bit worrisome to me. Had 2 goals the other night. I'd take him back for secondary scoring. Guys like Desjardins, Tootoo, Rasmussen, etc. are not helping us there.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 12:55 PM) Favre was with GB for 3 more seasons. Rodgers only threw 59 passes total his first 3 years. So maybe there is something to he's as good as he is because he had that opportunity to develop. I have no idea. But there are many teams that wish they had their pick before him back. Exactly. Because he was a top 3-5 consensus pick. Greg Olsen for example knows a thing or two about slipping from where you were projected to get picked. (Top 15)

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 12:49 PM) They would have played him right away and he wouldn't have been anywhere near as good though. Rodgers needed a ton of mechanical work to turn into what he has. We will never know. Did it help he watched Favre all that time? Maybe. But I still think he would've been great regardless.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 12:45 PM) The Bears spent the 4th pick on Ced Benson. It would have been doubly good if they drafted Rodgers because not only would they have him, the Packers would not. They believed Rex was their guy. Noone thought Rodgers would fall into the Packers lap, which helped coincide with Favre getting up there in age. You gotta remember even with injuries, Rex was only 2 years removed from being drafted in the 1st round by the Bears. They just didn't know what they had in him since he got injured his first couple of years there.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 12:37 PM) He went 24th. If teams had a top 3-5 grade on him he would have gone a lot sooner. I'll bet the house the 49ers are still regretting passing on him. Lets just leave it at that. Some teams also drafted on need at that time, not BPA. Hell, some still do.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 12:34 PM) It's not about him throwing hard -- it's his demeanor and attitude. Some humility will eventually do him good. Yea some of his vine/insta/etc videos with his plastic girlfriend are awful to me personally. But he is still very young. Kid has some maturing to do obviously as a professional.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 12:14 PM) At the time of their drafts, Brady, Rodgers, and Brees would have been considered pretty big reaches at pick #3. Rodgers was a consensus top 3-5 pick in that draft. Hell, Kiper Jr. had him only slightly behind Alex Smith in that draft and that was only because he felt Smith was more NFL ready off the bat. Rodgers just happened to slip in the draft because every other team was set (or believed they were) at QB. (Kind of like Greg Olsen falling to the Bears lap and other players as well) And guys like Brady and Brees are not the usual standard. Noone and I mean noone would've predicted Brady to be the player that he is. One of the rare players who was way better in the NFL than in college. And Brees had questions about his height which was very common during that time.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 17, 2017 -> 10:11 AM) For the White Sox I predict he puts up 0-0 0.00 0.00 0 0 0 Seriously. Is hi8is expecting him to be here this coming season or something?
-
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 12:28 AM) I would say Courtney Hawkins I'll never forget there were even scouts (or was it a couple of scouting departments of different orgs?) who questioned why that kid was in high A after only 72 PA in low A.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 14, 2017 -> 11:47 PM) The Sox didn't destroy Fulmer. That's a silly thing to say but whatever. They absolutely crippled his development. I've seen a ton of prospects never be the same when rushed. I really hope he can bounce back and the sox take their time with him from here on out.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 14, 2017 -> 06:32 PM) I thought he was done, he has had a hell of a game. He said this was his last rodeo. https://mobile.twitter.com/bcondotta/status...464187839283201 What a career. I hope the Bears give him a one day contract to let him retire here. IMO, a future hall of famer.

Falcons O is so unstoppable. They're gonna be a tough out for Dallas or Green Bay.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2017 -> 12:57 PM) 30 power is 3 to 5 homers a year. His 60 hit tool supposedly translates to .280. You are pretty much describing a lesser averaged, less speedy Juan Pierre. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/scouting-ex...scouting-scale/ You acknowledging my last sentence on your previous post two pages ago was enough that we were in agreement. Why egg on? (especially when 2B isn't a premier power position anyway) Hell, Eaton's high in homers in the minors was 7 before he came to our park.
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 10, 2017 -> 12:26 PM) Give me Meadows, Newman, Keller, and Diaz. Meadows ~ Moncada Newman ~ Kopech Keller ~ Basabe Diaz ~ Diaz I think that's a fair outline. Diaz is not a prospect though. Nor is raw with the upside as the Diaz we picked up from Boston. And you are under rating Keller. Kid is the goods.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 10, 2017 -> 12:12 PM) That wasn't even a fans vote, that was a selection by the league. There are rumors because they are announcing the top 100 centennial list of all time players and he might be on it so they want him in the all star game. Still doesn't make it right. The one thing though that this helps is the Hawks cause Panarin has an all star bonus he would've hit and made the Hawks cap situation alittle worse next season.
-
All Star Game rosters announced. Kane, Toews, Crawford and Keith are in. An absolute joke Toews is in instead of Panarin, yet alone on an all star team this year.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 10, 2017 -> 10:38 AM) McPhee is gonna be a snap count rotational player for the rest of his career because of his knees. If Garrett gets there, you take him and don't think twice. Especially don't think about McPhee Not to mention Trevathan might never be the same again after his injury. Garrett should be a no brainer.
-
QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Jan 10, 2017 -> 11:10 AM) The player you just described is basically an infield version of Adam Eaton with more power. Eaton was a much better hitter in the minors, but I agree I'll definitely take an infield version of him. Hell, I'll take a poor man's.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2017 -> 10:42 AM) I hadn't really looked up his breakdown until this. The fact that he has no power tool at all is a big red flag to me. Is he a guy that is going to hit .330 to make up for it? Is he Simmons in the field? If not, I have totally lost interest in him, especially if he is to be the top position player in the deal. Eh.. if he's playing 2B, he doesn't need to hit 20+ bombs a year since it isn't a power hitting position. Will he be an all star? Probably not, but he still can be a very productive player whose high OBP, solid contact rate and solid fielding can be essential in building a world series team. Now I will say this, he better not be the top position prospect in any deal with Q. As a second or third position player? He's fine.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 10, 2017 -> 10:29 AM) 41tds to 17 interceptions. 579 attempts. Winston in his final season had 25 TD's to 18 interceptions (467 attempts). To be fair, Winston did run a pro style offense though (and didn't have the same talent around him). But the comparison is fair.

QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jan 9, 2017 -> 11:33 PM) Thank God the Bears don't have the number one pick to blow it on DeShaun Watson. He should be there at 3 though. -

QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Jan 9, 2017 -> 09:09 AM) Rodon had similar problems and cut his walk rate from 4.6/9 to under 3 in his age 23 season...Glasnow will be 23 for most of this year and has barely gotten a taste of the majors so far. How about he gets just a little time to develop? And an even crazier idea, lets see if he actually fails at any point 1st? I agree it's something that should cause some concern, but the idea that we shouldn't want Glasnow is absolutely ridiculous. Completely agree. Hell, if there's one thing sox organization is actually very good at, it's developing pitching.
