  1. Can we all agree that after every debate a massive bomb should be dropped on the spin room? I hate the spin room. We'd be better off without it.
  2. CBS says Obama "held his own" on McCain's foreign policy turf. "Obama stayed right with him."
  3. FOr the record, from a little skimming of the blogs, both made their fair share of mistakes or misstatements.
  4. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 08:36 PM) McCain keeps using the same phrases, much of which seem awkward. he always has this odd smile when he thinks he can hit Obama on something, then he speaks and it's a lie. It's like he's Dr Evil and smiles before his big lie.
  5. McCain, he said so this morning in his web ads. So it must be true. In all honesty, for the chunks that I saw this evening, it's a draw. Obama needed to hold his own, and I think he did that. So, you could say he was the winner... but I call it a draw.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 11:58 AM) Me too. Question, does anyone else read caps lock as if the other person is shouting? I think he's a little on edge lol
  7. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 10:27 AM) So, does the loser of the debate donate their webpages to the poor kids in Africa?
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 10:12 AM) I DON'T THINK AHB WAS OUTRAGED, I JUST THINK HE POINTED OUT A FUNNY NEWS ARTICLE THAT SHE CLEARLY HAS NO IDEA ABOUT KISSINGERS IDEOLOGY SO WHY WOULD SHE CLAIM TO THINK WHAT HE SAID. I'M WRITING IN CAPS LOCK UNTIL THE WHITE SOX TIE THE DIVISION. Exactly right. PS: Love the caps idea.
  9. FYI: McCain has already said he won tonight debate: McCain WebAds- McCain Wins Debate If the webads were already made and running this morning, doesnt that mean he has been planning to go to the debate all along?
  10. oh, guess he wasnt serious about suspending his campaign and the debate. McCain is leaving for Mississippi as reported by CNN just now. First he said he wouldn't leave until there was a deal, then it was "significant progress", now... well, hell it's good enough. I can leave. When you add this to the fact that McCain was ONLY pulling his ads for Friday and was going to run them again starting on Saturday... this was a 100% political stunt.
  11. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 11:51 PM) He may be good, but the whole talking and licking of the bat is quite weird. "Ahh, Jesus, I like him very much, but He no help with curveball." - Serrano (major league)
  12. Sarah Palin: Henry Kissinger is "beyond naïve"... ok, She said Obama was, but it's Kissinger position too!
  13. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 11:23 PM) haha yea. i have no idea who Atlantic Monthly is till now. seems like a junk site honestly Atlantic Monthly isnt some hack publication. It's been around since 1857. But it is mostly editorial.
  14. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 11:21 PM) who is marc ambinder? Reporter for Atlantic Monthly
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 11:20 PM) I give him and Span credit for playing with just a ton of energy. oh no doubt there. He's a hell of a player. I just get a vibe form him. And my "vibes" tend to be right.
  16. Well, everything will be fixed by Saturday apparently: So, either McCain knows something about the bailout compromise that we dont, or his "suspending" was nothing more than a shame. I vote shame.
  17. I tell yea, Carlos Gomez has a world of talent, but watching him this weekend, i get the distinct impression his abilities have gone to his head and in a few years he's going to be a real SOB to deal with. He just give me that vibe. He is going to be VERY full of himself in a very short period of time. I look at how he scream and yells at every opertunity. He's got a very "smug" look. And did you see him slide into home for no reason what so ever?
  18. As much as the last few games have sucked... no.
  19. You mean... like the same companies in this private sector that we are trying to bailout because they cant afford them? BRILLIANT! Make bad paper more affordable so it can be sold to another company that then goes under because it is bad paper. It's just shifting the problem. Does he expect Microsoft to all of a sudden go into the loan business and buy all these up?
  20. I am glad I'll be out of town all weekend. I cant bare to watch this slow spiral into death.
  21. As this is unfolding, it seems like this what happened today: Over the past 6 days, Dems and Reps have been meeting with Paulson and Bush officials to hammer out compromise. They got to a tentative deal. However, it was not a plan supported by House Republicans. So, McCain came in and took up the cause of the House Republicans who opoosed the deal. They went to the White House and proposed something that was COMPLETELY different than what has been worked on for the last 6 days. And now the Republicans are pushing an alternative plan and crediting McCain for it. Not a Bi-partisan plan... a House Republican plan.
