QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 09:25 PM) This offends the hell out of me. in what way? Offended at what he wrote, or that it was published?

How do you know a person? What they write when they dont expect anyone to see it: Israeli paper publishes Obama Western Wall prayer "Lord — Protect my family and me. Forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will."

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 07:26 PM) Heard a funny joke today: "So did you hear about Obama's trip to the Middle East? Apparently he visited the manger where he was born." That's pretty funny.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 01:22 PM) There is no such thing as a comfortable lead in a Presidential election, in July. I'm sorry, but, that's ridiculous, unless McCain goes out and strangles some kittens or something. or the press finally figures out he doenst know squat about foreign policy.

The Myth of a Toss-Up Election A Commentary By Alan Abramowitz, Thomas E. Mann, and Larry J. Sabato I wont post the article due to it's length. But here is the key paragraph:

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 01:03 PM) Speaking of class, many people are of the opinion that he was not very classy when he dumped his first wife for a millionaire. you mean his disabled wife for a hot young rich co-ed? McCain Divorce Account Contradicts Court Documents

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/07/25/q...a_n_114931.html A Qantas jumbo jet carrying 345 passengers made an emergency landing Friday with a gaping hole in its fuselage after a mysterious "explosive decompression," officials said. There were no injuries, but some passengers vomited after disembarking the Boeing 747-400, said Octavio Lina, Manila International Airport Authority deputy manager for operations. Watch video of the emergency landing:

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 11:08 AM) LOL. Obama's camp can't figure out the rules, and I am absurd and need to grow up. Nice. Any other insults you would like to hurl? i'd be nice if McCain could figure out the facts about Iraq. i tend to find that a little more important.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 10:59 AM) Uh that doesn't debunk anything. The Pentagon made him observe the rules, he didn't want to do that, and he cancelled. As I said before Obama could have still gone himself as a US Senator, but he didn't want to be without the press in tow so he could look "Presidential". If he really cared just about visiting the troops, he would have still gone and told them all of the same things he was going to say in front of the cameras. do you understand the logistic of a trip like this? When you have everything planned to almost the minute, just ditching your plane and staff isnt exactly easy.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 10:24 AM) maybe this oil spill in the gulf should be of concern right now? ssshhhhhh.... you're not supposed to talk about that!!!

TV's Craig Furguson: Barack Obama gave a speech in Germany today in from of 200,000 German people. They were shouting and screaming. Apparently France surrendered just in case.

Quick Follow Up- McCain OPPOSED Bosnia: And, He didn't know how to win Kosovo:
-
QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 08:23 PM) Yeah but the McCain campaign said that his service record was "less than stellar." So, let me try and flesh this one out. John McCain "won" Kosovo and Bosnia. but the war was run by Clark who did a "less than stellar" job. So, John McCain did a "less than stellar" job in those wars. Correct?
-
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 07:49 PM) I haven't watched this but I bet he said "supported" Kosovo and the Gulf War, not says "he himself won"./ Couric: "You have said 'I know how to win wars.' Which wars are you referring too?" McCain: "Bosnia, Kosovo, First Gulf War, the Conflict in Iraq.... to name a few. I've been engaged in every single one of them. I am in the decision making process as of the senior members of the armed services committee. Am in engaged in the debates on the floor of the united states senate." So, basically, "I voted for them. I supported them. I didnt plan them." That doesnt really translate to "I know how to win wars". It translates too: "I know how to support wars" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States..._Armed_Services They do not run a war. The generals run the war. The generals win the war. Ps: Bosnia and Kosovo... run by General Wesley Clark... not John McCain.

:headbang So let's run down this interview: Screwed UP the Surge Timeline Forgot About Afghanistan and call Iraq the first major conflict post 9/11 Says he himself won the First Gulf War and Kosovo

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 04:44 PM) those Quinnepac polls were pretty whacky. you means the ones that just came out today? yea, I'll post a commentary on them next week. But to be brief: I dont buy the Colorado and Minnesota polls. Too drastic a shift and very contradictory to what other polls show. I'll reserve "panic" until I see other polls in those states. For what it's worth, SurveyUSA had Minn +1 for Obama a month ago. For those who havent seen: Minnesota in June: Rasmussen.... 06/11 - 06/11.... 500 LV.... Obama: 52%.... McCain: 39%.... Obama +13.0 Quinnipiac/WSJ/WP.... 06/17 - 06/24....1572 LV.... Obama: 54%.... McCain: 37%....Obama +17.0 Minnesota in July: Rasmussen.... 07/22 - 07/22.... 500 LV.... Obama:52%.... McCain:39%.... Obama +13.0 Quinnipiac/WSJ/WP.... 07/14 - 07/22.... 1261 LV.... Obama:46%.... McCain:44%.... Obama +2.0 A 15 point drop in one poll while the other is strong? Kinda odd. -
QUOTE (jackie hayes @ Jul 24, 2008 -> 03:06 PM) CFTC charges Dutch firm with price manipulation activities: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/25/business/25cftc.html When the Saudis raise their hands up and go "what the hell? this s*** is too high!" you know something "unseemly" is going on.
