Dodgers and Lima?
They signed him because he is low risk with the potential of having another season like last year. It's smart in case someone goes down, but they're also going to trade a pitcher or two before the season starts. Whether its for a premier guy or just to fill in some major holes with some minor talent they'll still have to do it with pitching most likely.

Perks for Mr. Zero:
You're right. That's what he asked for, and the Yankees instead granted him use of the plane.

Perks for Mr. Zero:
It's not so uncommon. Kevin Brown made the Yankees spring for 6 first round trip tickets from LA to New York for his family, in order to approve the trade. They obviously obliged.

Valentin to Yankees?
Granted, Jose should definitely start at short with the personnel we have, but Uribe has a high ceiling on him. His defense is superb, that isn't a concern. However, it is believed that he was trying too hard to hit for power in Coor's Field. The Sox believe if he focuses on being a contact hitter, that he can be a real good all around player. Last I heard he was batting .275 in winter ball. Not outstanding, but not a bad start to a new approach to hitting. In comparison to Jose's winter ball season, he's an allstar. However, Jose was experimenting with an all lefty approach, which proved to not work. We'll see this season how Uribe works out.

No, the Cleveland guy got traded to the Sox. Now Neal and him are roomates, didn't you hear?

Unfortunately that could be Cotts too. I think I have more confidence in Scott. I would rather not rush Neal, do to his potential and what happened to him last year. If he has an outstanding ST, then I'd change my mind, but otherwise another year of development is probably best to work on his control.

I'm skeptical of Scotty as well. However, KW has said he's been trying to get this guy for three years now. Also, he's added a cut fastball that made Loaiza more effective. Scott is very good against lefties, but struggled against righties. They believe this cut fastball will be an effective pitch against righties. I hope that works, we'll just have to see.

Lol your dad sounds alright. Ya I probably won't get tickets to that one. I have buddies that live out there so I'll ask them about it, but I can't be sure right now I'll be there then. They're going on vacation for Spring Break, and I think it's during then, so I'd I'll probably end up going there after they get back. Kind of sucks, but they still play a couple other games in the area. I'll probably go to a couple Giants games as well, not that I'm a fan, but we can get in for free. We know someone who works with the video taping with the club, got us in before and drank for free. Fun time, and pretty nice facility. I'd rather see them in Tucson, have fun out there. I went to ASU, and we made our way out there as well, it's pretty cool.

That could fit too. Regardless if it's him or someone else like Diaz who takes it, I wonder what happens to Wright? He did serve that role well, as opposed to his starting role. Maybe trade bait, or maybe he's the guy? We'll have to see. I'm going to be in Phoenix, so I will be watching some of thier away games. I'm trying to make it happen so that I will out there March 13, when they play the Cubs. That would be pretty cool. They also play Oakland later in the week.

Discomfort in the Twins chemestry?
I think that's getting blown out of proprtion. Sure, I'm positive he was upset by it, but I think he just wants to play ball. If they start winning, Frank will get on board and won't hold a grudge. If they lose, we'll then it won't really matter what was said, we'll be back where we started. I bet Frank goes to ST and says it didn't bother him, and that he just wants to win and will do anything for the team to help that happen.

Overlooked 5th Starter
Joe Cowley of Daily Southtown reports Chicago White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper is excited about the addition of Rule 5 addition P Jason Grilli (Marlins). "I want him to step up and say, 'Hey, you have to start me.' He just sounds real hungry to me and that's what we need," said Cooper. Grilli went 10-4 with a 3.05 ERA in 19 combined starts in 2003 between Class A Jupiter and Triple A with the Florida Marlins organization. I like Diaz as well, but his stamina has been questioned do to his lack of innings pitched throughout the minors and winter ball. Maybe would serve better as a long reliever, give Wright some competition to see how he steps up. Coop is a real smart guy, and once he decides, I'll be confident that it is the best decision with who we have.

15 relievers vying for 6 spots
I believe Grilli is a 5th spot consideration, but I could be wrong? When we picked him up from the Marlins in the Rule V Draft, he was a starter.
