  1. Maybe, just maybe, PK will be done when these guys are ready to come up and Maggs is still with us. And Carlos Lee possibly fulfilling an offseason rumor of playing first base. If he could handle first, we would have a sick lineup. And even if Maggs did walk, and those guys made up the outfield, and Lee took first base, we could have a sick lineup still and possibly a dominant pitching staff. Time will tell, but I believe the future looks bright.
  2. I agree in not putting too much stock into this. It really comes down to producing guys at the major league level. We have guys that look like they are going to be really good players. We have a good core of players on our current team, and hopefully we can fill holes faster than we need to replace them. I'm not too worried about it though. I'm probably just biased, but from what I've seen in our system, I think we look pretty decent. We could use some more infield prospects, and that's probably evident in our ranking, but with the numerous extra picks we are going to get this draft on top of what we already have, we can fill up on infield positions and pitching. You always have to get pitching, but I think we look pretty good there in the near future even. Granted, whoever we get this draft, we will be waiting for a little while. However, some guys move up fast, like Reed. Either way though, the future looks bright from my perspective.
  3. It probably is best, but when he did it in winter ball, he batted .115. Although, that could have been a combination of rust and a new approach at the plate. I'm sure he'll be better in doing this in the long run.
  4. Alright Rowand, working the count and producing.
  5. Frank is an ideal 3 spot hitter, because the 3 spot requires a person who has power and also takes walks.
  6. If that's the case, and it sounds about right, my vote goes for Gload and Burke. Uribe can take the pinch hitting responsibilities when coming off the bench. Gload can be the fourth outfielder. Burke can cover third when need be, and be a third catcher.
  7. Hey Super Steve, it's my birthday today. How about a post about something, whatever, lol. It really is my birthday though.
  8. I think I enjoy SuperSteve's posts the most. Nice pic.
  9. Oh totally. I only meant he can play it. It's just another part of his versatility. Hopefully a guy like Burke can make the team and we can have a more ideal third baseman for giving Crede a day off. I like that scenerio, especially if Gload shows he can center when need be. I like Everett, but if he can, I don't see why Gload can't do it too. Especially since it will only happen on occasion. We'll see, but Burke can play third, and it gives us the advantage of having three catchers on the roster. We'll find out soon enough what they're planning on doing. Hey, it's my birthday in a few minutes. Woooohoooo, lol.
  10. Gload can play the outfield. I'm not sure how well he can play center, but one of the reasons he is going to make the team is because of his versatility, which includes playing the outfield.
  11. He's a lefty but he can play third. If Burke makes the team, then he will probably be the guy to give Crede days off from time to time. However, Gload can play it.
  12. Gload can be a fourth outfielder/pinch hit/play third/play first.
  13. Ya, and people said our pitching staff sucks. You know what, people suck.
  14. Where did people hear his elbow was a problem? They never said anything about it last year, and I hadn't heard that during the offseason either. Does anyone have a source where it said his elbow was giving him trouble?
  15. Alright, it sucked he struggled there, but he bounced back at least keeping it tied. Let's finish this now.
  16. Gload is surely securing his spot on the roster.
  17. I believe they said he would only observe the Colorado game.
