This guy is a supposed superior defensive first baseman who can really pick the ball. He might end up replacing PK at some point. He is considered short for a first baseman, which has kept him from being a full time starter elsewhere. However, I don't think that is going to be as much of a problem as some think. With that said, I have no qualms about hanging to PK, although if his contract becomes a concern, Gload seems to be a good consideration to replace him. Good amount of speed for a first baseman too.

That's a little unfair, but he did swing at some pretty poor pitches. He probably could have walked all night.

I wouldn't look at it as a sign of anything. The guy has ace stuff on a $200 million dollar team. He's good, nothing else to say. Tip your cap and be thankful we won't have to face him throughout the regular season anymore.

I think getting them out of that Metro Dome helps every team that plays them. I understand the point about extra revenue, but it comes down to wins and losses. and that place has got to be the biggest home field advantage in baseball. I wish the other rumor was true and a done deal at 6 years at 68 mill. Probably too low by his standards. This is a very fair offer for him, yet the fifth year, as discussed, could be a stumbling block. Either way, I am still pretty confident a deal gets done. Although, for the JR haters out there, this is hardly a cheap contract offer.
