  1. I'd take him as a fifth starter.
  2. He's a different player than Maggs, and with that said, I wouldn't mind him taking over in right field if we were able to sign a pretty good CF. Or keep him in CF and obtain a respectable RF with a good portion of money being spent on pitching. Aaron is a pretty darn good player, and he has finally been able to show what he can do with a little experience and health on his side. He has quicky become my favorite player, more because of the way he goes about playing and training.
  3. Everyone knows that, and besides, Mariotti is an expert in areas that give the Sox problems, both real and fiction.
  4. Well including Lee is a major part of the deal being ridiculous. I doubt the Cardinals would empty their farm system, or any other team. The guy is good, but including the Sox top outfielding prospect, our starting left fielder and CF, and a another pitching prospect for a relief pitcher is nothing short of being dumb. There is no way it would happen.
  5. You're crazy, no way he would command that much.
  6. A's tried to get Mota before acquiring Dotel.
  7. I'm not holding my breath.
  8. So you're saying Frankie would have gotten us over the hump? The team under acheived, and we all know why. Everett did his part, and was a good acquisition then and is now as well.
  9. That's super, but we had a need last year, and Everett did give us a boost with no financial cost to us. So...... rolleyeyes.gif
  10. 1-1 with a 4.38 ERA. Not terrible, but obviously you didn't do your homework on your argument. rolleyeyes.gif
  11. Ya but what have any of the prospects done as of yet, and also how much money was actually paid to him by the Sox? The answer to both questions is not much.
  12. That was a nice surprise.

For $3 million. Hardly exercising a high risk situation.
  14. He said in the Tribune that he likes it. It pumps him up he says, so I don't see a problem.
  15. You're absolutely right. MB made it sound as if he didn't want to go or care about it at this point. I don't blame him. If he gets a spot after all this crap, it probably doesn't feel as rewarding.
  16. Whenever Uribe looks to Cora, he always squints big time. He may want to look into what Troy Glaus did in the off season, if indeed his vision has faded slightly. It helped Glaus out a lot.

Mediocre hitting catcher, not catcher. He calls a good game, and has been solid behind the plate overall.

Fine, but are 5 of their players having better years than all of our players? I don't think so. No one is blaming Westbrook, good for him. It's just that we got screwed big time, and it's BS.

He didn't tear into him, he just said that Torre didn't do a very good job of picking the players.

Torre is full of s***. I'm glad Hawk called him out yesterday. The All Star process needs to be totally revamped. Hey Torre! :fyou
  21. Plus, they didn't want to ruin Reed's trade value if he did become a bust, or at least didn't fair well in his first call up. Many feel it is unlikely, but it is possible.
  22. I just assume use Borchard if we had Pavano, Buerhle, Garcia, and probably Garland if he's extended. Cotts could be a fifth starter possibly, or maybe we would even get someone else. Either way, I would say goodbye to Maggs for Pavano.
  23. You're right it does, but it appears Maggs is the one not tangoing. He has an offer on the table, a good offer, but he wants to move on. That's fine, I'm not mad about it. However, it makes me not give a s*** how he feels about Garcia being signed.
  24. Maybe Maggs should take a page from Garcia's book. That's how you get a contract, you negotiate with your team, and accept realistic deals. Unless of course he has decided to leave already, which appears to be the case. I'm fine with signing the guy who wants to be here, especially a real good pitcher.
  25. I've already been dreaming about that. Him, Garcia, Buerhle, Mulder the next year , and Garland as the fifth guy. That would be something, but like I said, it's probably just a dream.
