If the Angels sign Clement, then Jarod Washburn will certainly be on his way out. I believe he is a pitcher KW has liked for some time. The question is, would you as a fan be satisfied with Washburn added to the rotation along with a guy like Cairo to platoon at second, if Clement doesn't sign with us? I could live with it, but obviously Clement would rather be had.

Granted it's still all speculation, but Willie Harris would probably need to added to the trade. The Sox have been rumored to be interested in Alex Cora of the Dodgers, which would make sense, but who really knows what is going on at this point. Wait and see.

He's 25, and the reason he's still in the minors is because there's a guy by the name of Jim Thome in his spot. Kind of how Gload was stuck behind Grace and Helton, and he turned out to be a pretty good player when given the opportunity. Maybe he's not worth Garland, but if we have Burnett and Clement, I'd be willing to part with him, and I'm pretty certain it would be enough to get a deal done. Probably won't happen, but it's not a terrible idea assuming the rest unfolded as wanted.

Wonder if we were cool enough to trade PK to the Marlins for AJ and Garland to the Phillies for Ryan Howard, and were still able to afford Clement and possibly a second baseman in Polanco or Cairo? Whack! Back down to earth.

Maybe this guy then. Ryan Howard - 1B - PHI Ryan Howard isn't making any demands, but he hopes the Phillies will trade him to a team that will allow him to play. Howard is already 25, so another year in the minors probably isn't going to help his stock any. Unfortunately for him, the Phillies have already fulfilled their major needs for 2005. Keep in mind that he had Craig freaking Counsell and and Junior Spivey protecting him in the lineup. With Rowand or Uribe hitting behind him, you figure he'd get some better pitches to hit.
