With no second round pick, I wonder if that frees a little money, making our first round pick less of a risk, signability wise. I would still prefer not to pick a Boras client, but again, it would be nice to be able to pick the best talent available in that spot.

Good for KW. He's always responded well when dip s***s throw some garbage rants in his face. On a side note, I would like to sit and have a couple with Ozzie, lol. For PR purposes, I can understand why KW didn't think it was such a hot idea.

El Duque has been hurt, but prior to his signing, he was said to have one of the cleaner looking arms KW has seen. Isn't it possible that his last surgery and proper rehab has made his arm what it used to be, when he was throwing 130+ pitch counts in Cuba. As it has been pointed out, the more you throw, the stronger you get. If he indeed is healthy, I don't see why he can't throw 115 pitches a game, granted not every game, but enough to not be overly concerned. Guys use to do it all the time back in the day, and Hernandez is part of that mold IMO.

Joe certainly still has an opportunity to have some good major league seasons in his future. Although with the Sox, very deep with outfielders now and in the future, probably don't need Borchard. I like the guy, but it probably makes sense for both parties to explore other options. That is to say if we get quality return, which doesn't necessarily mean blockbuster. Rather something the Sox could value down the line.
