Joe is a very good third baseman IMO, and I don't see any permanent move changing that. However, he'll need his days off too, and maybe a few consecutive from time to time until he gets out of his funk. He just needs to relax, and when he does, he will take off. But for his days off, Uribe will fill in at third just fine. He's looked better than expected IMO over there. He is our utility man still, even though it's imperrative that he stay in the lineup in some capacity. Right now though, with Harris recovering, both Crede and Uribe need to be in the lineup.

Agreed, I would rather go after Garcia and extend him, which I feel we have a real good shot at.

He got screwed on a couple big calls there as well yesterday.

I wouldn't stress it, there is some major talent out there in the draft. How far they fall, we'll just have to see.

Everyone should keep in mind Garcia is in a contract year, so you don't give up too much for the guy. I like the idea of acquiring him, especially since I feel we have a good chance to resign him. Who knows, it's these kind of moves that may have Maggs wanting to stick around. We'll see, but whether Maggs walks or not, I wouldn't mind having this guy in the rotation. He could realistically be a legitimate ace.

He might be a good left handed specialist next year for his MLB season debut.

He isn't stretched out for it, and the only way to stretch him out is to send him down. Not only that, but Kelly has struggled in ST and since down in the minors. Wunsch is a good pitcher, but that scenerio is more of a gamble than letting Diaz have a shot who's been absolutely lights out.

He'll probably be a throw in some deal at the break. Hopefully for Freddy Garcia.

Then why take him out of his comfort zone. The man is a second baseman, and that's where he is at his best. Although I still think Rowand is a pretty decent player, if I'm going to make a CF change, it's going to be with Reed. Remember, Rowand is a left fielder forced into playing CF based on need. Putting Willie is essentially doing the same thing done to Rowand. Willie is better off staying where he's at.

We'll if he were the guy to be called up, then Cotts would be a great choice for the fifth spot. However, Wunsch is either not ready from his injury or the Sox just have no interest in him anymore. I think he's still hurt, but I have no doubt the Sox will move him if given the opportunity that made sense. Regardless though, my point is that I don't think they consider him an option right now.

But you have to figure in that it would limit us to one lefty reliever. Cotts is going to be a starter, whether it's this year or next year should be about need, not just hooking him up. Right now, Cotts has more value in the pen IMO with a guy like Diaz coming in as the fifth starter. We'll see, but if Diaz can come in and throw strikes, we will be way better off than with DW at the helm. I really thought he turned around during ST and was going to be a solid fifth starter. Obviously I was wrong, but at least we're making a decision before it got too out of hand. But I still think Cotts has more value to us this season where he's at and having Diaz or even Grilli take the fifth spot. That's just me though.

Gload is doing well, it's tough getting sparatic at bats. That bunt got the job done though, it was a good at bat. I'm not worried about him.

Although I've been wrong before, I have a good feeling about Buehrle's performance tomorrow. Let's get another.

ESPN said when Reed comes up, and if Maggs stays in our outfield, we could have one of the best outfields in the majors. Not bad when you still have Anderson and Sweeney developing.

Brando, you have issues. You think anyone in the club house has a problem with what he says. So far they haven't responded as such. So who really cares if you have a problem with this petty stuff. As long as the team stands behind Ozzie, there isn't a problem. Stop trying to make something out of nothing. You would make a perfect intern for Mariotti.

I skimmed this thread and didn't see anyone mention that Gload has experience at third and has played it pretty well. Not saying he should take Crede's role permanently, but it isn't out of the question to start him there some days. Lefty or no lefty, if you can play third you can play third. He's obviously overcome the disadvantage of a lefty being at that position. I bet he would play very well if we gave him some time there. Again though, Crede is our third baseman, but I don't have a problem with Gload getting more playing time, and that being one of the spots at times.

Because he supposedly said he was injured to screw the Sox over and inhibit his value. I like Wunsch, but that's pretty s***ty.
