  1. Koch 1-2-3 in the 7th today against the D-Backs. 2 strikeouts, nice.
  2. They were saying all last year that nothing was wrong with his arm, and they couldn't figure out why he lost velocity. They changed his approach and nothing, but they said he was healthy.
  3. He should be able to perform well, but it's going to come down to how well he locates his pitches. If his fastball is down again, it's not the end of the world, as long as he can locate his other repertoire of pitches, including mainly his sinker and curve.
  4. Lol, is it a crime to reiterate. Besides you said hopefully, which isn't a prediction either way. I said I don't think anything more will come of it, and that's more of a prediction.
  5. Apparently he missed that day they talked about it. Regardless though, this is really not a big deal. They talked to him, and that is that. No more should come of it. If this is the biggest problem we deal with in ST, we should be in good shape.
  6. Harris shouldn't have said anything, but he should have been told. They wanted Buerhle to do this special and he designated it to Willie. He's basically a rookie, and if there is an unwritten rule, people should have made it clear. He obviously didn't know.
  7. All the married players are not caught up. They told their wives that they're the Sox and no girls have any interest in spending time outside their hotel rooms on road trips. Nice job Willie.
  8. Canceled due to rain. :headshake
  9. Billy Wagner threw slightly higher than the 86-88 range with his fastball.
  10. TJ= catching the ball vs. AT = not catching the ball. In this offense, TJ has a much higher ceiling than Thomas. Besides, TJ isn't the same since his days in Arizona, he is much more mature as a runner and person. Angelo is a pretty decent judge of talent, and he is high on TJ. This is the second time he has acquired him.
  11. Regardless of how we fair against them, the rest of the league should pound on them pretty good. Of course, I want the Sox to as well, but that staff shouldn't match up well with the rest of the AL, and that is key when considering the division.
  12. They'll rock, paper, scissor each day to see who plays.
  13. Ya. The change is working effectively thus far, and he says he feels more comfortable with it than ever before. Coop helped him with a new grip for the change, and so far, so good.
  14. Hell ya! One thing less to worry about. I like it.
  15. Rose would have been banned regardless. Besides, baseball changed Maris's record because of a technicality, and would be able to do so again if they deemed necessary. Again, the MLB is not the court of law. They have to act within a certain set of guidelines, but it is not the same by any means.
  16. The MLB is not the court of law. You do not need proof beyond a reasonable doubt. Even though the evidence against Rose was indeed substantial, he was never tried. He was simply eliminated from baseball in all capacities. I don't believe they will take back the records or anything, but this issue isn't going to die. Now there may not be evidence of him injecting himself with steroids, but there is evidence that he was sent it, provided by witnesses. Now he can deny it, and in the court of law, he would be able to get away with it. However, baseball works differently, and as such, steroids will be observed with much more scrutiny. Whatever has happened is most likely in the past and will probably not be affected in any official capacity. With all that said though, Bonds is a juice head. You see that guy's traps. You can't transform your traps in that manner naturally. It's certainly debatable, I just would never be convinced that he hasn't used steroids, and multiple cycles at that, over the years.
  17. With Bernard as our fourth outfielder, Uribe as our utility second and shortstop, and having twelve pitchers on the roster, Gload would fit in nicely as a back up first baseman in addition to Frank as well as a 5th outfielder/pinch hitter. I also like Hankins to make the final bench spot as a guy who can give Crede a few days off at third, a few other infield spots, and also has recently added to his versatility- catching skills. We need a guy who can cover third, but if that guy can have a solid bat and back up as a third catcher as well, that would be great. That's the way I see it now, but if someone else steps up and makes things interesting, all the better.
  18. Regarding Konerko's hip: Shooting from the hip First baseman Paul Konerko has heard speculation that a degenerating hip problem caused his subpar performance in 2003. He put those concerns to rest over the weekend. "If you took an X-ray of my hips, they would look different than yours," Konerko said. "But there's nothing wrong with them. They're not going to get any worse or any better. It's a structure thing. They're different now than they were when I was 18 or 19 years old, but the same as they were when I was 22. "I basically don't have the range of motion because of the ball and socket. The ball hits the socket more than it does for the average person. It bothers me sometimes if we've been traveling a lot and I don't sleep well, but that's been going on since Triple-A. "I know when my name comes up in trades, or when I got traded here, they wanted the X-rays to check it out. I'm 100 percent fine. Put it this way, I won't be going back to catching anytime soon."
  19. He may very well, and I'm not going to say he can't do the job, especially when healthy. However, I believe he can be a real asset in the pen. Short innings and throwing real hard, he could develop into a dominant setup man/closer sometime in the near future. With that said, as of now, I like Grilli for the fifth spot. I won't be upset though if Danny convinces them that he is better to fill the starter role, this is just how I see it as of now. Oh ya, I'm excited as can be as well. Going to Phoenix on the 10th of March through the 22nd to visit my friends still going to ASU. However, there are plenty of games in Phoenix (Sox away games and some others as well) to watch, and in addition I'm going to make my way to Tuscon once or twice. Hopefully to the Cubs/Sox game in Tuscon.
  20. Scottie pitching in NY makes sense, mostly because it is a left handed pitchers park. He is working on fine tuning his change up, in which Coop feels will make him far more effective against the righties. He doesn't have a problem with the lefties. I don't have a problem with leading off with him, especially since it would go R-L-R-L, assuming our fifth guy is a righty. I don't think Cotts is going to win the spot.
  21. Now it's free to settle in Wrigley Field instead of that cramped ball.
  22. I didn't lie about anything. Steff, I just have one question for you. Is 11/50=.494 or no? Aren't you a financial analyst?
