  1. It's like the old "SOX" logo from the 80s. It will never really go away completely.
  2. QUOTE(SouthsideNorthsideFan @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) lol... Yogi, catcher. I doubt Joe D threw out or called anywhere near as many as Yogi. Nice apples to oranges comparison. Hey...is the love for Raffy still rampant after today's news? It was only an observation. PS, if you were a real Sox fan, you'd hate that avatar of yours as much as I do.
  3. Mark Buehrle only pitches 5 2/3s of an inning because of being ejected. It breaks his streak of consecutive starts pitching 6 innings or more. Stupid Umpires. :finger
  4. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 05:30 AM) There's some logic there, but your pulling this out of left field. Not bad, though. Technically, he pulled it out of center field.
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 04:43 AM) When do the rosters expand??? Sept 1
  6. QUOTE(Sox Radio Bryan @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 02:28 AM) Steff...nice work on creating the post! It was enjoyable to read all of the above comments. Please keep them coming. This is my first post on this website, and I have enjoyed typing each letter of it. Feel free to post any questions you all might have for me. If you call in to future post game shows or Chicago Baseball Tonight, please let mention that you frequent SoxTalk.com. Bryan Heh. I knew Steff's post was a setup. I do enjoy your pre and post game stuff when I can, Bryan. Keep up the good work and don't be afraid to hang up on the idiots that deserve it.

  8. Hmm.. Joe D put up the same #s in 13 yrs that Yogi did in 19.
  9. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 02:04 AM) I agree. They have a great shot at the wild card. In the playoffs, they could give San Diego or Atlanta a run for their money. I think that Atlanta just made one hell of a move in acquiring Farnsworth to set up Reitsma. It sounds stupid, but that could be the difference in a Braves vs. Cubs first round matchup. Farnsworth has been murder on hitters this year. The numbers are just beautiful. Lawton is one hell of a pick-up, though. Previously thought of as a stroke in my world, those OBP numbers don't lie...he's been kicking a little ass out of the leadoff slot. Huge pick-up. Too bad WCW isn't in ATL anymore or Farns could moonlight at another job.
  10. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 02:05 AM) If anyone wanted to know, here's Kalapse's view on the deal: So the Sox pulled off a deal for Rob Mackowiak huh. This is awesome. Mack will help in solidifying our bench for the stretch run and the playoffs. I know a lot of people are down on him after seeing some of his recent numbers but I really feel this acquisition will help out the team a lot. A util man like him who can play 8 different positions can be invaluable. Edit out Mackowiak for Blum and that's how he feels. I also said that they got Blum because Pittsburgh wanted more for Mackowiak than KW wanted to get rid of.
  11. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 12:48 AM) Where did you get those dancing numbers from? I googled "dancing numbers"
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) 1st WS winner thread. I = Winner. In your dreams, Soup Boy.
  13. Derek Johnson - LB KC Chiefs
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) LHP J.C. Romero; RHP Bob Wickman; 1B Mike Sweeney; LHP Eddie Guardado; LHP Billy Wagner; RHP Ugueth Urbina; 1B Ryan Howard; 1B Lyle Overbay; 1B Sean Casey; LHP Mark Redman; RHP Jose Mesa *snag* = KW
  15. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) uh, see Rodriguez, Francisco - 2002 Angels. Thank you. I'd compare Jenks' callup this year to K. Rod's callup in '02.
  16. Timo still pisses me off with his one arm sideways catching in the OF.
  17. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 09:59 PM) is geoff blum at the game He might be there.. but he won't play until tomorrow.
  18. QUOTE(SHAFTR @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 09:58 PM) Timo proves that old adage: Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Well.. he didn't get a hit.
  19. Uribe gets forced at 2nd. Inning Over. 9-1 Sox
  20. QUOTE(Coyote @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 09:53 PM) Just got in and saw that Iguchi got plunked. Is he hurt, or just resting with a big lead? He's hurting enough. The Sox are up big; so, he might as well rest.
