  1. A look back at some Frank Thomas moments in the media... http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines Not always flattering.
  2. I dunno... Can you handle facing an All-Star/former top ex-Sox prospect 16 times a year for the next 10 years?

    White Sox Josh

    You hurt his feelings... :fthecubs
  4. It would kill me to give that good of a prospect to KC. I could see him coming back and kicking our asses in 3 years.
  5. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 04:45 AM) My collection of Carlton Fisk baseball cards. It numbers something more than 100 different cards. You too? I have a bunch of Fisk cards. Probably 2 or 3 hundred of them, all different.
  6. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 06:45 AM) I forgot about the DRays and Red Sox being in the same division. Looks like Huff won't be going to Bos. Who else would be in on the action for Huff? That's cuz trading Huff to Boston could affect Tampa's run to the division title this year, negatively.
  7. How about "Dumb Jackass"?
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 02:14 AM) Well it talks abut a 3 way deal in that little article with the mets. So baez would be going to the mets obviously and I'd assume Huff and Lugo here, interesting to say the least. Nothing like leaving the Sawks out in the cold.
  9. QUOTE(103 mph screwball @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 01:49 AM) Plan on the Sox giving BMac, Gio, Anderson, Sweeney, and Fields for just Huff. That way, when the Sox part with just 3-4 top prospects for Huff and Baez it will seem less shocking. No way. KW better not give up that much.
  10. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 01:40 AM) Great, so when I could I order my Ken Griffey Jr. Red Sox jersey? Uhh.. yeah... Griffey would have to play RF. Damon would stay in CF.
  11. I'd say we get Mackowiak. That will be our only trade.
  12. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 01:02 AM) The Cincinnati Reds are missing a golden opportunity to rid themselves of Griffey's contract. They could make a deal with Boston centered on Griffey for Manny, adding whatever it took to make Boston go for it. Then, they could have stepped into Boston's place in the big 3 way deal involving the Mets and DRays. Email em.
  13. A batting helmet that I won when I was 8 years old at the fair. It looks like this one.
  14. I've been collecting for over 20 years, I know what I am talking about. http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/co_displays/...2276284,00.html Vintage rookie cards become less valuable if they are autographed. They cease being in mint condition when they are.
  15. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) Well, isn't that a complete shock! An autograph makes the Aaron rookie actually worth less than a non-autographed card.
  16. The Mets are getting a bigger discount because they aren't in the American League.
  17. QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 08:11 AM) So from what I read, he's going to be immobilized in a cast for 6 to 8 weeks. I would hope that he would entertain the thought of throwing out the first ball at the Cell for the first playoff game. You know what kind of response the fans would give him. Now, he may not want to do it because of the obvious disappointment in his not being able to play, but I hope the Sox ask him to do this. Of course, with his arm........ As long as he doesn't have to throw to the shortstop on a 3-6-3 DP. AIR MAIL!!!!
  18. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) Philly could use both BMac and Marte, this yr and the next few. Wade would be pretty foolish to pass it up. Then Marte could be in set up and Urbina moved to closer. Cormier and Fultz may be having decent yrs. But don't have Marte's stuff. Marte would be relatively cheap for Philly and no doubt would be an even better upgrade than Baez [at worst, they are a wash], who they have been rumored to want if they dealt Wagner. I'd take Urbina for Vizcaino and Tracey if Wade doesn't want to move Wagner.
  19. Wow, half those WS cards I have laying around here. If anyone is dying for overproduced 1980s/90s cards.. PM me. The Pierce AS card if it is from 1959 Topps, is a TOUGH White Sox card to get. It was in the high numbers and thus was lower printed.
