  1. Most cars that are 3 years old or less can be half the price of a brand new car and are still under the factory warranty.
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 07:51 PM) *checks wallet* Um, no. Alright...
  3. Blitz on 3rd down, the Bears fold like a house of cards.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 2, 2011 -> 03:38 PM) Anyone got any suggestions for bars to go to around the Hotel Indigo on Dearborn??? From the reviews that I've read, Zebra Lounge stands out.
  5. Trading Edwin Jackson is even farther away from "all-in."
  6. I doubt that Garcia would be cheap. If anything, they'd move Sale to the rotation if they deal a SP.
  7. Oney apologizes - sort of http://deadspin.com/5721493/oney-guillen-a...-but-not-really
  8. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 06:45 PM) troy polamalu doesn't count in the list of USC NFLers? He was drafted prior to 2005.
  9. If money means s*** to you, why bother with a degree?

  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 05:37 PM) The Bears could draft the entire Badgers O-line, and I would be cool with that. If they don't get a good free agent OL or at least draft one in round 1, I will be severely upset.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 05:03 PM) I count what, 15+ guys who have made legitimate NFL impacts already there? Well, with the amount of recruits that they bring in, to not have that many guys would be more surprising. 2002: 12 Four Star - Anthony Fasano, Derek Landri, Maurice Stovall 2003: 1 Five Star, 6 Four Star - Victor Abiamiri, Trevor Laws, Brady Quinn, John Sullivan, Tom Zbikowski 2004: 2 Four Star - No 4 star guys in NFL 2005: 2 Four Star - None 2006: 2 Five Star, 10 Four Star - Sam Young, Eric Olsen 2007: 1 Five Star, 13 Four Star - Jimmy Clausen, Golden Tate 2006-07 were the first recruit years for Weis. Justin Tuck Jerome Collins Anthony Fasano Maurice Stovall Dan Stephenson Brady Quinn Victor Abiamiri Ryan Harris Derek Landri Mike Richardson Dan Santucci Chinedum Ndukwe John Carlson Trevor Laws Tom Zbikowski John Sullivan David Bruton Jimmy Clausen Eric Olsen Golden Tate Sam Young

I can honestly say that I have never heard of 2/3rds of these guys.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 04:44 PM) How many lower-ranked recruits have they turned into solid NFL-ers though? There's a lot of players who have come out of USC to the NFL who aren't on that list. Our discussion was on 4 and 5 star recruits. I can research that too, I guess.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 02:15 PM) You tell me? I honestly don't know. I'm going to take a team at random: USC They've been considered to be a "football factory" since 2002, so let's see how they compare: 2002: 15 Four Star recruits - 2 eventual NFL guys, Winston Justice and Mike Williams. 2003: 2 Five Star, 10 Four Star - Reggie Bush, Sedrick Ellis, Steve Smith, LenDale White. 2004: 8 Five Star, 6 Four Star - Keith Rivers, DeWayne Jarrett. 2005: 3 Five Star, 9 Four Star - Matt Leinart, Rey Maualuga, Brian Cushing. 2006: 5 Five Star, 14 Four Star - Taylor Mays. 2007: 6 Five Star, 10 Four Star - Joe McKnight...I guess he counts. I may be missing an OL or TE, but name recognition only, that's about it. 24 Five Star and 64 Four Star guys and they have maybe 10 or 11 NFL guys and possibly 4 Pro Bowlers.
  16. Barring a blizzard, it looks like I may be able to make it.
  17. A rough day for the Big 10 (yeah the NW/TT game was close). At least Penn State is staying with Florida.
  18. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 04:03 PM) Bears lost Juaquin Iglesias to the Vikings, if it matters to you Bears fans It sucks, but there was no room for him.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 03:49 PM) [snickers] ...and on your left, the world's smallest sundial...
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 02:47 PM) ? Parseghian was 36-31 at NW before coming to ND. Devine was a losing NFL coach Faust was in HS Holtz was 10-12 at Min before coming to ND. Davie was a coordinator Willingham was 44-36-1 - mediocre Weis was a coordinator in the NFL I guess Willingham was over .500, but barely.
  21. Kelly is the first coach since Parseghian to have a winning collegiate record before coming to ND. This season finishing at 8-5 is also the first time that Kelly has had an over .500 team in his first year at a new school. This includes the loss of their starting QB, RB, TE, and best WR for the majority of the season. I'm really excited about the next few seasons.
