  1. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Oct 20, 2006 -> 02:50 PM) One thing is for certain: there is no stopping them; the rays will soon be here. And I for one welcome our new marine overlords. I'd like to remind them that as a trusted internet personality, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underwater crustacean caves. Heh. Kent Brockman.
  2. I'd love to see what Don Cooper could do with Prior. Think they'd take Vazquez for him?
  3. Sooo... KW sandbagged the team over future $$ this year with BMAC so the Sox would lose out on the playoffs?
  4. So, Sweeney, Broadway, Tracey and Vazquez would work better? Seattle doesn't need a 3b with Beltre's huge contract.
  5. Okay Mr. Signature Bet, what would you give up?
  6. Seattle always needs younger guys. Sweeney, BMAC, Vazquez. Too much pitching giving up? Discuss.
  7. QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Oct 19, 2006 -> 11:18 AM) It wouldn't be fair to the fans whose teams aren't in a warm climate or don't have a dome stadium. Example Chicago, Detroit, New York and others. Selig is also the one who wants to make it harder for wild card teams to get to the World Series. What's fair? The Sox started on the road nearly every season since the early 90s until last year. Two 4 game road series' at the beginning of the year are no big deal. Those teams can have two 4 game home series' to finish the season.
  8. I see that the quote button works. Thank God. I was worried.
  9. Why can't they just start the season a week earlier and play games in warm weather/domed stadiums? AL: Anaheim, Oakland, Toronto, Tampa, Seattle, Arlington, Kansas City, Minneapolis. NL: Houston, Atlanta, Milwaukee, St Louis, Arizona, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, San Diego
  10. So, pretty much, you're judging him on the body of work of 3 (4 including Giamatti) other men. Selig has had successful expansion twice, a team moving only once, profit sharing in the form of the payroll tax, decent parity, the 3 tier division with the very popular wild card. Many new stadiums, the All Star Game meaning something, exciting interleague play, record increases in baseball attendance following a work stoppage (which was the union's fault as much as the owners') and a 14 year period that saw 26 of 30 mlb teams make the playoffs. No other Commissioner can say these things.
  11. Hope it was a good 'un!
  12. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Oct 18, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) Sorry 'bout that. What'd the other guy lose? His two best friends.
  13. When I read the topic, I was like..."Why would 4th graders need body spray?"... heh
  14. Heh. his development will drop soon.
  15. With what? Felix Pie, Sean Marshall and some magic beans? The Sox have mlb talent to replace ARod on the Yankees mlb roster.
  16. The overrated Ozzie Smith http://www.baseball-reference.com/s/smithoz01.shtml He had some decent BA years but couldn't hit for power or drive in runs. His D put him in the Hall.
  17. The Norm Cash trade was worse even if it did get the Sox Minoso. RIP Johnny
  18. He still gets points for posting it.
  19. You've got 3 seconds to edit it before LCR gets you.
  20. Tony82087 in the "Juan"ted Uribe thread:
  21. How about Jeff Torborg? Would he consider the bench coaching job?
