AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&#
HUGE win tonight. A loss would've been devestating -- especially considering how well Buehrle pitched.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&#
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 01:06 AM) If there's a team out there that could help MB get his crap together against, it's KC. He's pitched extremely well against them both times out. He may not get a ton of run support though...they scored 3 runs in both of those games(though they did win both of those games...our pitching was actually decent in April and May) Didn't Hawk say during the game that the Royals have scored the most runs in baseball since June 20th? I was shocked. It doesn't even look like Mark can get a breather against the Royals.

Division???
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 12:58 AM) Our pitching has to be really good and the Tigers pitching has to fall apart. I can see senario #2 happening, but I can't see senario #1 happening until next season. I'll still say we can get the wild card and have a shot to play in October and defend our crown, but we dug ourselves too big a hole with 2 months to go IMO (although Detroit going 70-35 didn't help obviously either). Hopefully we're on a hot streak whenever Detroit finally hits a slump. We can get right back in it if that happens. It has to happen, damnit!

The Tribune makes me sick....
QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 12:50 AM) There's an easy solution to this problem........DONT READ THE TRIBUNE! That's a horrible paper all-around. The Sun-Times and Herald are much better.

Abreu and Lidle to the Yankees
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 11:48 PM) By the way, those things about "This is the toughest lineup" or "This is guaranteed to score runs every game" or "this is the best team", those things were all said about the Yankees the moment they got Damon last fall too. Actually, those things have been said about the Yankees every year since about '02.

Sox @ KC - 8/1 Game Thread
QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 11:24 PM) Will the real Mark Buehrle please stand up! He better. I can't take too much more of one of my idols getting lit up like this. It's like watching MJ as a Wizard.

Division???
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 11:24 PM) well im assuming we will at least take 2 out of 3 and i know I shouldnt but im almost expecting to sweep them. So than Ill judge this team with how they do vs Toronto. The Jays are a good team so if we take 2 of 3 or even sweep than ill be back on this team's bandwagon. That's what I call a true fan.

Division???
It all comes down to our starting pitching. If they perform, we're in the playoffs. If they don't, well, will always have '05.

Yes! Thank god July is over. We've had our slump. Now it's time for the White Sox to play baseball like they're capable. Start us off, Mark!

Jose stepped up big tonight. We so needed a strong performance from him, and he delievered. Man oh man if Bmac could be more consistent. It's beautiful to watch when he's on. Props to the offense as well. It looks like they're about ready to explode again. God knows we're gonna need it.

7/31 White Sox v. Royals
QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 09:52 PM) Thats an insult to Pujols. It is? Last I checked, Manny was pretty damn good.

7/31 White Sox v. Royals
QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 09:45 PM) What if you had Pujols hitting behind Papi....or vice versa? Talking about a damn nightmare. It wouldn't be that much better than Ortiz/Ramirez.

7/31 White Sox v. Royals
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 08:39 PM) He wins big games. Your saying Vazquez is not better, but Rogers is useless. If Rogers is useless or just sucks, then Vazquez has to suck or am I missing something. I'm saying Rogers is no better than Garcia or Vazquez. Everybody knew he was pitching way over his head the first half. Now, once again, he's getting lit up after the break. It happens EVERY year. I just found it strange you were so quick to stick up for him. Lord knows you never, ever do that with our guys.

7/31 White Sox v. Royals
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 08:38 PM) Jeez. Twins pouring it on. Other than the Tigers, no one seems to beat them. And I thought the Rangers would be able to light Silva up pretty good. We need the Twins to lose as often as possible when Liriano and Santana aren't pitching.
-
7/31 White Sox v. Royals
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 08:33 PM) Imagine what his record would be if he got over 7 runs a start support, same as Vazquez. Again, how is he any less useless, though? My argument is not that Vazquez is better.
-
7/31 White Sox v. Royals
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) What are the ERA's of the 2 you are talking about? What is Vazquez's history in the AL after the break? How is Freddy's 86 mph heater going to hold up in the dog days? I've never said Rogers is great, I just said he isn't useless. He would have been a far option for KW than Javier Vazquez. His era ist at 4.63. Imagine if he pitched half his games at the Cell. He wouldn't be any better than Vazquez.

7/31 White Sox v. Royals
QUOTE(Wedge @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 08:27 PM) Well, both at least have kept game somewhat close. If you recall, we won Garcia's last start and Jenks blew the save in Vazquez's previous start. Rogers has been much more similar to Buehrle's last few starts.. I'm not even sticking up for Garcia or Vazquez. I just found it funny that dickallen (one of the more pessimistic people on this site) stuck up for Rogers, who's been pitching like spiff since the break, and has a history of pitching like spiff after the break, yet has no problem at all killing our guys when they're struggling.

7/31 White Sox v. Royals
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 08:23 PM) No I don't. The only 2 I find totally useless are Vazquez and Garcia. I have been one of Contreras' biggest supporters since he became a White Sox. Last year when people wanted to trade him for Burnett, I was laughed at for suggesting he could outpitch Burnett the rest of the 2005 season. I'm not a huge fan of Garland, but he's been better lately. He'll fall back from where's he been but probably won't be as bad as he was at the beginning of the year for the balance. Buerhle I like, but he's been so horrible. He'll be back. Well, Rogers' era is at 4.63 now. His era is well over 10 since the break. He has a history of piching like crap after the break. How is he any less useless than Garcia and Vazquez?

7/31 White Sox v. Royals
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) Kind of like our lefty ace. True. Only thing is Rogers sucks ass after the break every year. So in his case, it's to be expected.
-
7/31 White Sox v. Royals
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 08:17 PM) I wouldn't count Rogers as useless quite yet. Why not? You say that about all our starters.

7/31 White Sox v. Royals
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 08:15 PM) Kenny Rogers coming back to Earth? No way... His era has to be something like 12 since the all-star break.
