What this book going to teach children? How everyday the dog guides Sen. Kennedy home because he is too intoxicated to drive. There will probably be a chapter on how the dog is tied up to a lamp post outside a liquor store while Ted goes in to refill his scotch supply.

UPDATE: Today in class we stood for the pledge. He called it state mandated patriotism. He went on to explain how hypocritical it was of the state and the school to enforce the pledge after 9/11. So, I'm sitting there wanting to tell him off but, I resisted the urge. Later in class he starts talking about how Judge Alito is a hypocrite. I said," tell me how." He rambled on for about 5 minutes why. Then I said, "No, you want to know what is hypocritical? Having Ted Kennedy questioning the ethics and character of Judge Alito." He just stood there in shock. He didn't have any come back for it. It was the greatest look I had ever seen on a teachers face. I took a stand and dammit it felt good

Today was the first day of the new semester at school. I'm in an A.P. governmet class and we talk about various topic likes abortion, civil liberties, federalism ect. Well I walk into class today and he puts a picture of a that gorilla (Coco?) next to a picture of George Bush. So I think okay he is going for shock value to make us listen on the first day. Well, the bell rings he walks in and looks at the board and says, "I can't tell which is more intelligent, can you?" The rest of the class bursts out laughing with the exception of a few of us. I felt that was really very unnecessary and out of place. I never had the urge to scream out in disgust in my life. Apparently from talking with some of my friends who have had him in the past he is a huge liberal who constantly pushes his political views on his students. Now I like Bush but, I'm not the biggest supporter but, that comment coming from a teacher made me lose instant respect for him. i'm thinking of changing the class. What should I do?

I'm going to SIU in Edwardsville for pre-pharmacy, People tell me that the campus in Edwarsville is different from the one in Carbondale. I heard it has more of suburban feel to it. my dad and my cousin both went to the Carbondale campus and both liked so I guess college is what you make of it.
