  1. Anyone know anything about this rookie pitcher?
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 08:45 AM) Someone posted last night, the SP has like a 2.00 ERA over the last 10 starts or something. That's the reason they're winning, and it has nothing to do with anything else. There has been some timely hitting, and Jenks has been sharp...but yes, the main reason the Sox are winning is the SP.
  3. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 07:38 AM) This should end the Jones or Kotsay experiments when Teahen comes back. If he can hit .200 he is doing better than those two... One would hope...but remember who the manager is.
  4. I don't know. I'm as excited as the next guy about the run as of late, but we are playing some bad NL teams. I hope that the winning ways will be contagious and carry on into the following weeks. However, I do not see an acqusition of a big bat anytime soon, and when Teahen comes back, he'll be patrolling the left side of the infield.
  5. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 02:38 PM) Peavy isnt going to the DL. He is pitching tomorrow...they said it. He will pitch tomorrow,its just an arm thingy...no big deal. oaewnpvnqeprvnqienvq Really, man. I'm worried.
  6. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 02:17 PM) I'm random ..anything else is BORINGGG!! Any thread I have is going to bounce around from topic to topic ..I don't feel like clogging Soxtalk up with a bunch of different random subjects ..so I just ask my random Q's wherever I want!! LOL I can respect that. Okay...Classic Rock, I've always been a fan of Queen I don't listen to a lot of new music, but I'm a big fan of Rusted Root.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) All signs point to Peavy going to the DL Omninous music or fanfare?
  8. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 01:40 PM) OK ...NOW I am interested to learn more about you guys!!! ...Favorites bands/groups?!?!?! Mine = Guns N Roses!! ..Lately my truck has played nothing but Salt-N-Pepa though ...AND I just noticed that both of those are groups with "N" in the name ..odd!! Sounds like we need a new thread.
  9. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 11:56 AM) Mark Buehrle! Oh jeez. I knew that. I was all confused and flustered about the whole Peavy thing.
  10. QUOTE (maggliopipe @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 11:34 AM) The wife and I went to last night's game and are going tonight as well. PNC Park is everything it's made out to be; just a gorgeous ballpark. I've got a lot of sympathy for the poor Buccos fans though. They seem knowledgable and passionate for having stomached 18 straight seasons. Having grown up in Pittsburgh I can tell you that it's a very passionate sports town. The fans there have a lot to be excited about with the Steelers and Penguins, and a lot to be really pissed off about with the Pirates. It amazes me that they get as many fans as they do to their games. You'd think that the luster of the early 90's would have worn off by now...and maybe it has. The ownership of that team hasn't done much good.
  11. I would predict moderate improvement. BA .253 ERA 4.35
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 09:54 AM) White Sox aren't cutting a major deal to sell right now. Question is...are they cutting a major deal to buy?
  13. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 08:11 AM) akljshdfiuqwheci9puqnc; lakjsd Good. I was worried for a minute.
  14. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 07:53 AM) asdfvashuiwci9pnwcownc You okay?
  15. QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 03:47 AM) CQ is on pace for 33 doubles, 22 HRs, and 96 RBI all while hitting .207 If Juan Pierre was hitting over .300, I think he would have 40 or so steals right now.. but from what I am looking at, since May 1st Pierre is hitting about .275 with an OBP over .350 which isn't too bad Pierre seems to be trending back towards his career averages. He should still swipe 50+ bags this year, and if he can keep up his perfomance since May 1st, the idea of acquiring him will look better.
  16. They had FOUR errors in one inning!
  17. ...even if it's against the Pirates. Danks! Konerko! Pirate errors!!
  18. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 02:35 PM) Mark Gonzales from the Tribune reports: Ouch.
  19. With InBev's acquisition of Anheiser-Busch, Sam Adams (Boston Beer Company) became the largest American-owned brewer.
  20. That's hiliarious. You could really screw with someone. "Just press the damn octothorpe! It's right there, four keys away from the ampersand!"
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 11:27 AM) I don't think it's wrong to defend a WS hero when somebody is mocking him for what? Having a bad back. It's not his fault he has a bad back. What's wrong with sticking up for a hero? The World Series is uh, a big deal. The World Series was a huge deal. Especially considering we may not see that again for a while. I think the general response here is "lighten up".
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 09:43 AM) AJP Career : .284/.324/.425, OPS+ 94 Kotsay Career: .279/.336/.412, OPS+ 98 Well shut my mouth. Very similar. I even checked ABs and noted that Kotsay has had about 1200 more at bats than AJ. So, they are both hitting quite poorly this year in regards to their career numbers.
