Hey, a DH drawing a walk.

Okay, Paul. Now let's go Manny.

Omar should go talk with Manny, talk about that power.

He got every stitch of that ball.

Omar!!

Alright how about some damn offense.

Thanks to SoxTalk and a lot of the well-informed posters, I know more about the minors this year than ever before. And it's frustrating knowing we don't have a deep system.

With offense like today, Danks had better pitch a gem.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 06:36 PM) Well, Viciedo has to play somewhere on the big league team or KW really screwed up not trading him when his value was huge at the deadline. Count me off the Morel bandwagon...I don't think he's strong enough to hit in the majors. I only saw his one at bat yesterday, and he didn't look great. Are his numbers low in the minors?

Where the hell was Danks!?

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 06:33 PM) I'd glady take getting his contract off the books without getting talent back. Fine by me. You'd think Morel or Viciedo will be ready for 3rd next year..

Ugh

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 06:32 PM) maybe the Royals would trade us Josh Fields for Teahen?? Throw in Getz and it's a deal!

This Wimpy and Frank combo is weird.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 06:30 PM) I said it yesterday, but Teahen needs to go this offseason. He's just a terrible fit with this team, and is making way too much money for someone that doesn't appear to deserve to be starting. Okay, but who would take him? Well, at least you'd figure we'd get nothing back for him.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 06:27 PM) I am having some serious doubts about whether Teahan can play 3B. Is Joe Crede available next year? I'm sure. Questio is whether his back is available.

He gone!

Wow, Teahen is brutal.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 04:44 PM) I love that when people talk about injuries Jake Peavy seems to not come up in the conversation. That is funny. Even when he went down it seemed like there wasn't a ton of talk. Obviously he is missed and we will need him next year.

Here's to a Sox win and a Twins loss!

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 02:37 PM) Hope it's good. Looks good, and with it being from the creators of The Shield...

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 03:43 PM) Teahen's defense has been so brutal. When you produce mediocre results with the bat, you better bring your glove to the stadium. He does not. Good point. I wasn't looking at it from a defensive standpoint. Unfortunately, Teahen is a good bench guy or occasional DH. The Sox are paying too much for him to be just that.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 03:05 PM) All I want to know is: Where was all this praise for Thome when he was, uh, actually on our team? I think there was plenty of praise for him when he was here. But, as with any player that is or is supposed to be high-impact, you're going to hear more negativity when they are not playing well. Like you had mentioned before about Konerko, same thing there. As far as Thome now, many of us are still upset that the Sox decided not to sign him, and seeing him play so well really grinds our gears. I've always liked Thome (as a player, even when he was with the Indians). Hated to see him destroy the Sox, but had to admire the guy. I still like him, but I just hope he strikes out or gets beat by the shift when he's playing us. Otherwise, I hope he hits .400 with 50 HRs (just as long as one of those homeruns doesn't eliminate the Sox!).

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 03:02 PM) Teahen equals yuck. Seriously, how is this team contending? Man we have some mediocre baseball players on this team. Teahen hasn't been too bad since returning. And every team has some mediocre players. The Sox have a lot of talent, but they need to put it all together...right now. Just like during the big run back in June and July.

Looking forward to Terriers tonight.
