David Riske-R- White Sox Oct. 30 - 8:17 am et The White Sox probably won't re-sign potential free agent David Riske, the Daily Southtown suggests. The Sox will need another right-handed set-up man with Brandon McCarthy expected to shift to the rotation, but they seemed to have no confidence in Riske and he didn't pitch much down the stretch, so Chicago is unlikely to bring him back. Source: Daily Southtown a couple other bits there about macdougal staying and boone and tracey maybe not staying - same with dustin but as far as riske is concerned i thought he pitched really well for us and was one of our most consistant relievers... why dump him?

QUOTE(TLAK @ Oct 21, 2006 -> 07:09 AM) I keep looking at his glove. The glove looks to be as long as his forearm. Unless he's a midget, thats more than 12". Its a moot point now, but I'm surprised no one challenged it. youre kidding right? please tell me you're kidding.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 12:16 AM) I'd tend to agree in most cases, but Maggs somehow got 5/75 from Detroit when his career was in jeopardy. Boras is a pretty sneaky person. I'd imagine he'll get 5-7 years with a potential opt out plan about 3-4 years in. i think 5 is pushing it, more than that just seems ridiculous... not many guys have contracts with that many years attached... especially injury prone ones who have only had one good year

its now on whitesox.com

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Oct 7, 2006 -> 08:23 PM) I don't post during the season, so I wouldn't have been involved with those conversations, but thanks for the heads up. ah gotcha - now it makes sense. good to have ya back

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Oct 5, 2006 -> 05:10 PM) That's a long time ago, but you don't see any Christian sectarian violence, as long as you ignore the IRA attacks in England, the break up of Yugoslavia and the sectarian violence that followed... or the terrorist bombing of Hindus by Christian extremists in India in 2004, or the Christian Identity terrorist Eric Rudolph who bombed the 1996 Olympics, abortion clinics and gay bars. But let's not split hairs. oh yeah and that little thing in Oklahoma City... oh yeah Waco was pretty neat too -

Op-ed "giving into Islamic wrath makes us all hostages

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 5, 2006 -> 09:18 AM) Oh please. If people elsewhere in the world watch the news about the U.S., and see school shootings and violence on the news, are they right to think that all Americans are violent? Look at broad information. Look at entire countries of Muslims that don't have these issues. Look at the fact that those protests on TV are, what... a few hundred people? Please rejoin us in reality. The religion of Islam is not the problem. Extremism and violence are the problem. -

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Oct 4, 2006 -> 05:10 PM) If muslims dont like it when someone takes a little swipe at Mohammed then thats too bad. Its called free speech. I also find it truly ironic that certain people are so up in arms that the government is supposedly taking their freedoms away in the terror fight while those same people gleefully surrender their right to free speech to a mob of islamofascist thugs. Pathetic. a) its a small chunk of muslims that would go to the extremes you talk about B) its against their religion to depict muhammed... so... shouldnt they get upset? well i guess not... its against christians religion to commit adultry... or to covet... or... ya know, lots of things that christians do. c) the article is right in pointing out that the problem is CULTURE, not RELIGION -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 05:09 PM) The stats don't lie. He fails almost every time he pitches in the 6th inning. yeah i know that, but this sixth inning was NOT a failure. thats what you dont understand
-
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 05:08 PM) Seriously who calls a breaking pitch away on Frank with a man on. you really want vaz to only go fastball changeup? hmmm
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 05:05 PM) Vazquez hasn't seen an offspeed pitch he won't hang in the 6th inning. thats ridiculous
-
not Vaz's fault, he's pitched a good game. this is frank thomas folks... he tends to do this no matter who the pitcher is
