QUOTE(Chet Lemon @ Feb 16, 2007 -> 11:01 PM) Exactly, Obama is like all the other presidential candidates including Republicans. Get off the fence and take some non-generic positions Obama! thing is, i just dont think he has non-generic positions... i think he's riding this wave or charisma, race and youth right now... not sure how long it'll last

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 04:47 PM) Bullcrap. In 2008 and 2009 you would be here moaning about how bad the sox are, and how they didnt think of the future and how could they keep pitchers that were obviously going to leave via free agency. You like a bunch of people probably said in 05, as long as they win the WS I wont care what they do in 06 and 07. Well guess what, its 07 and you do care, just like you will in 08 and 09.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 08:49 PM) SSX should be out in about 2 weeks. Metoid is weird. I'm pretty sure their done with the game(and have been for awhile now) but for whatever reason don't want to release just yet. My guess is a Summer release. Not sure in the slightest about Galaxy or Brawl. Both should be holiday releases, but I'm guessing Nintendo won't want to cannibalize sales. Some other games releasing 1stQ/2ndQ: Mario Party, Manhunt 2, Super Paper Mario, Battallion Wars 2, Mortal Kombat, Mario Strikers, Sonic brawl is June 1 and Galaxy i think is some time before that IIRC

is it just me or does that article have a ridiculous slant to it... QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 10, 2007 -> 12:55 AM) COMPLETE freedom is anarchy. And yes, she was saying that the USA is as bad as Cuba. Although I agree with you on the online poker stuff. by the way, she said PARALLEL, not the same. this is the media twisting s*** as usual. big deal, she has issues with the US government - big deal, so do i, lots of people do. PARALLEL does not equal THE SAME. on another note actors - at least good ones - actually have to be very intelligent and there was nothing in that interview to suggest to me that she is otherwise.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 11, 2007 -> 08:23 AM) Just wondering how many states also say their state pledge in school as well. The pledge of allegiance to the Texas state flag is "Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one and indivisible." Lesser states probably don't even have one . . . looks like somebody's state has an inferiority complex...

overreaction of the century more likely... wow

QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 12:51 PM) Yes, I would include people standing for the national anthem at sports events. I still don't see any way a majority of adults are doing it on a daily basis. in this statement you are correct. even though some (NUKE and whomever else) may honor the flag/country on a daily basis the VAST VAST majority does not on an everyday basis.

Texas Ordering all girls to have cancer vaccine
Reddy replied to BHAMBARONS's topic in The Filibuster
QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 11:46 AM) I called people who are screaming about it idiots - aka "those with a penis who don't know s*** about what a female with cancer feels" I didn't say one word about the Gov and his ruling. Go measure pp's with someone else. right. i forgot. steff doesnt think people are allowed to have opinions. -
Texas Ordering all girls to have cancer vaccine
Reddy replied to BHAMBARONS's topic in The Filibuster
QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 3, 2007 -> 04:17 PM) As is almost anyone with a cervix and uterus. I like how those with a penis are hootin and hollerin' about it being a bad, bad thing... I wonder how those dolts would deal with 1/100th of the pain that comes with cervical or uterin cancer. Idiots. how bout we look at the other side of the issue then huh? Sure at face value it seems like a great idea and great concept. And really, the fact that Texas is requiring it free of charge for girls 9-18 is really pretty cool. Here's the thing though... REQUIRING it can be a slippery slope. Will all the girls react the same way? what if some experience side effects? potentially serious ones? I just think that Texas should make it free to whomever wants it but SHOULDNT REQUIRE it... I'm no doctor, but i just think we should be a little bit more careful with a vaccine that prevents cancer... after all, a vaccine is a little bit of the disease being injected in you. I just say we take some time to see how it will really affect people down the road before we start REQUIRING it. just my take. -
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 4, 2007 -> 10:44 AM) National Anthem ≠ Pledge of Alliegance but it is a way of honoring the country AND the flag... therefore... the Anthem = Pledge

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 28, 2007 -> 01:00 AM) I assume they mean he can't be a total failure since we turned him into a lefty bullpen arm that throws 96 to 100. ??

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 27, 2007 -> 11:04 AM) No, Garland should not start number one. -- I have no problem with Contreras over Buehrle. That's quite the lowball offer. for a team that claims to rely on chemistry they're not exactly starting it off right... KW seems like he feels about Buehrle now the same way as he did about Frank and it's a little annoying. When you've got two guys in Buehrle and Crede who are cornerstones of this organization and team going through the season unsure about whether they'll be dealt or not - re signed or not - it just puts a cloud in there that shouldnt be around. Especially with Buehrle. If it really IS his last year at least be classy about it and have him start Opening Day like he has since he was 22 years old... for the love of god its not like it really makes a difference. I just feel like ozzie and KW are the type that are like "ok, you dont want to be here anymore? well lets make your life hell and make you out to look like a douche". not a big fan of that tactic

QUOTE(NUKE @ Jan 24, 2007 -> 06:11 PM) It's been mild compared to other places but rather seasonal in its own right, at least since the 1st of the year. right but how often is it in the 50s/60s in december in chicago i mean honestly... i'd call that mild
