  1. And there it is, glad Spoelstra isnt my coach.
  2. Wow another stupid move, that was going to be Pacer ball if he doesnt touch it (at least I think).
  3. Damn if Barbosa passes earlier there its an easy dunk, but he got selfish and now its Hibbert shooting. Terrible decision.
  4. Wow Lebron misses 2 free throws, Pacers ball up 1 with 54 seconds left. Huge play here, my guess is they run something for David West.
  5. ha Wade got Waded by Paul George (pretending hegot hit hard when he was barely touched)
  6. Come on Indiana, just keep focusing on Wade/Lebron, you know Wade is going to try and go off this quarter.
  7. Olympics would have been awesome, Chicago could have gotten federal funding for improving infrastructure and I could have gone to the Olympics in my home city.
  8. I dont think there is a right answer here. Some people would say visibility, exposure, is worth more than anything. I personally like that Chicago is trying to host these things and I am willing to live through the mess.
  9. It makes sense if you are looking towards 2013-2014, because there really is no way for the Bulls to get seriously under cap by then without trading everyone but Rose. So youd be paying next year, so that you can keep the entire team for a few years.
  10. I really cant see Asik coming back long term if they plan on keeping Taj. Now would be the perfect time to try and get anything for him. I have been a big fan of Asik, but the reality is that unless the Bulls plan on being the NBA version of the Yankees, some of these guys have to go. In terms of front court the Bulls should keep Taj/Noah (unless you can get a better deal for Noah than Asik all things being considered). Their best option is to draft well and pick guys that make sense (ie Shelvin Mack, or player who can score) as opposed to Jimmy Bulter (who I like, but the Bulls already had Brewer who is quite similar.)
  11. Sam Dekker! Its hard to speculate on the draft of next year at 18/19 these kids are still growing and learning more skills. The Bulls just need to do a better job of drafting players for their system. If youre going to spend a 1st on Jimmy Butler, he needs to actually play and be worked into the rotation so when the playoffs come you know what you have. Looking back it still is troubling why the Bulls didnt draft a larger combo guard who could have played pg/sg.
  12. http://news.yahoo.com/wrong-man-executed-t...-051125159.html So who goes to jail for executing an innocent man? Its really the biggest reason I cant support death penalty, humans just make to many mistakes.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 15, 2012 -> 11:46 AM) OMG Badger, is anyone allowed to argue with you, or are you the only one allowed to initiate long winded ridiculous arguments? You said I was following you around sniping at you, after a 3 comment back and forth over something that i disputed. Get a grip man, wtf. I post as a member, just because it says admin underneath my name doesnt mean I cant argue with the rest of you. You are acting like I am insulting your heritage here because I said your initial post wasnt correct. I didnt mean you, and Ill just say Im wrong and move on. Your posts seemingly have been to snipe at me, but if they werent and I was wrong, I can drop it and call it a day. Ive never had an issue with you before, so I dont know exactly what the deal is, but Ill just say it was my misunderstanding and move on. Steve, Its fine, I just cant believe that people are making a big deal out of a nothing post.
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 15, 2012 -> 11:35 AM) Arguing poster semantics is dumb, how about the topic at hand? 3-4 defense would have been great since we just drafted a pass rushing LB. I agree, which is why I asked certain people to stop sniping and grow up. Youd get real tired if a few people came to every thread you posted in and tried to attack you. It especially gets old when they are admin and no one even cares. As for 3-4, its unlikely in run downs, but I do think the Bears may employ more of a "walk around" defense on pass downs. I just cant see Lovie giving up his entire scheme on running downs.
  15. Oh okay, so you were being sarcastic that the Bears pay a lot to Lovie? Color me confused, if you are going to be sarcastic, indicate it, otherwise anyone can say "Oh that post was just a joke, you didnt get it? haha, I never really meant that the Bears pay coaches, I just was joking, I cant believe you didnt realize that." Weak.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 15, 2012 -> 07:10 AM) KyYlE - You said "the Bears historically do not pay coaches top dollar." Badger - Thats not what I said, I said: "The Bears arent well known for paying top dollar for coaches." Holy s***, dude, that's just beyond stupid to claim those statements mean something different. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 15, 2012 -> 08:05 AM) Welcome to Badger land. On your right is Patrick Kane passed out. Steve, I expected more from you. Even Kyle admits he created a strawman and that my comment is correct. If you want to argue the Bears pay top dollar historically to Head Coaches, go ahead. Otherwise I was pointing out the fact that Kyle couldnt even give me the decency of quoting me properly. I never argued that it meant different things, I simply stated "Thats not what I said", which is true, he misquoted me and that is quite frustrating when he simply could have cut and pasted. So are you going to join the meathead mob and argue that the Bears historically have paid a lot of money to head coaches? Or are you going to continue to try and pick and choose sentences out of paragraphs, take them out of context and try and make a deal out of them. I seriously dont care, I thought this was done between us. But quite frankly you want to keep it up, I will return the favor. I dont go out of my way to construct arguments with people or to try and catch people in "Gotchya moments", I posted something that most reasonable people would not even comment on. Kyle decided he wanted to argue and create a strawman. I immediately called him on it, he acknowledged and in most circles, it would have been considered over. He was making a point about Lovie being paid well, although he did it in an annoying backwards way, its still a legitimate point. What point were you making? What point is SS2K making? Look at the comments, entirely irrelevant, have nothing to do with the thread or conversation. They are merely noise and have little to no value. I cant believe he gets away with this, but I guess if you have the most posts on the boards and have "admin" next to your name, you can follow people around and just attack them for no reason. Is that the group you want to be a part of Steve? Because your quickly approaching it. Regardless of the battles, regardless of the arguments, I keep it in the thread. If I fight with you in NBA or in Buster, I dont bring it to NFL. Thats just childish and quite frankly people who do that are ruining the board. So its your choice, I wont follow you around, I wont try and quote you out of context to make you have to argue a position you never took. Can you agree to give me the same courtesy? Otherwise Im probably going to stop posting here. I just want to talk sports and have fun, Im not here to have a bunch of people try and argue me all the time over nothing. You want to argue sports fine, you want to argue that the Bears are going to hire Cowher and pay him top dollar, thats your opinion. But Im entitled to my opinion and so far no one has even shown how my statement was so egregious. Have a nice day.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 14, 2012 -> 06:55 PM) Oh stop crying Badger, I am hardly following you around. You said the Bears historically do not pay coaches top dollar. If you had originally said they dont pay new coaches well, I would absolutely agree with that, because the Bears do not hire coaches that have HC experience, therefore they can get away with paying them less than most coaches in the NFL. But the Bears pay Lovie very well, so it isnt as if they are cheapskates across the board. Lovie proved to them that he could win, and he was rewarded with a very lucrative contract that placed him in the upper echelon of coaches in terms of contract. if Cowher somehow came to the Bears, it would be a different animal altogether in two ways, 1) he has a long history of winning as a head coach, and 2) he will command a very large paycheck Thats not what I said, I said: So you bring up 1 coach, who they paid well for half of his tenure. That doesnt exactly disprove my point. I cant even believe that anyone would argue this. You arent disproving my point, you are trying to bring 1 outlier and act as if I said: The Bears have never paid top dollar for a coach See the difference? As for your crying comment, last I checked I never have asked anyone to fight my battles. Ill just wait over here for you to prove that the Bears: "ARE WELL KNOWN FOR PAYING TOP DOLLAR FOR COACHES", because unless you can disprove that, you are just wasting everyone's time. Your not even arguing semantics well, because my quote is still clearly true, you just tried to create a strawman, that the Bears never have paid top dollar, which wasnt what I said.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 14, 2012 -> 06:13 PM) I'd rather have Carimi over there actually but whatever. See if he can do what we thought he could do years ago. I think the article is speculating on position, I dont understand why they dont give Carimi a shot at LT, but who knows.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 14, 2012 -> 03:58 PM) You know, if I had my soxbadger hat on I would just point to your original statement and say that it looks nothing like the above bolded You mean if you take 1 sentence and then ignore the explanation of the statement. I dont do that. I always let people explain their position if the first statement is nothing more than a clearly generalized statement that most people would agree is true. Its not like my first statement is in conflict with my explanation, you merely are hanging your hat on an outlier, where as I was making a more general comment on the entire Bears coaching history. The Bears historically do not pay new coaches well. Lovie Smith was one of the lowest paid coaches. The Bears have never hired a big name coach to start. In fact since as far back as Im willing to go (Jack Pardee), the Bears have not hired any coach who had already coached in the NFL, all of their coaches were previously assistants, being given their first NFL head coaching chance, Armstrong, Ditka, Dave Wannstedt, Dick Jauron, Lovie Smith. So I dont get what point you are trying to make, other than you seem to be following me around trying to snipe about nothing. The Bears historically do not spend a lot of money on new coaches, I cant find one example to go against this, which was the point about Cowher. It could happen, its just something that has never happened in my life time. I cant believe anyone even wants to argue this.
  20. There are different lists some have him at 5 others at 10, either way he is only being paid about what Cowher was paid in 2006. http://www.coacheshotseat.com/SalariesNFLCoaches.htm http://www.buzzle.com/articles/nfl-coaches...oaches2011.html The key being that it is estimated Cowher made about $4-$5mil in 2006. So I just cant see the Bears paying the $7mil+ necessary to get Cowher, unless he takes a pay cut from his last job. It also should be noted Lovie's salary is due to raises etc, his first contract was no where near this value. In 2006 Lovie smith was being paid $1.3mil as one of the lowest coaches. So yes it is true Lovie Smith eventually got paid, the Bears did not sign him to a huge contract to start, it took him years to get that money. Where as Cowher would want it day 1, drastic difference.
  21. The Bears arent well known for paying top dollar for coaches.
  22. Greg is entitled to his opinion, just the same as the rest of us. Attacking him proves and does nothing. Hes been open minded in my book.
  23. But if Thibs isnt going to use him, there just is no point in wasting that roster space. I wanted Brewer playing more, I thought the bulls should have tried a smaller line up, and I think when Brewer was on the court he really had a defensive impact. The problem is what I think doesnt seem to be compatible with what Thibs thinks. With Rose injured, Deng semi-hurt, you would have thought Brewer would get decent minutes. I just dont know whats going on with the personnel. If you go back in this thread, I argued that the Bulls shouldnt trade Brewer for Ray Allen because I thought his defense would be that important. I just dont get what the Bulls are doing with their players anymore.
  24. The Florida law is extremely strict on gun use. Its kind of hilarious in that way (I spoke about the 10/20/Life program earlier.)
